'Ere, grab me a fackin' Stella!

Reminds me of a cashier at Ladbrokes years ago. French football wasn’t on the coupons but you could get a bet on via the till computer. I’d asked for £20 on Toulouse and she repeatedly kept asking who I was backing to lose. Even when I’d pointed out they were a French side it didn’t really help proceedings.

Recommend the late French jazz singer and poet Claude Nougaro’s Toulouse To Win (on youtube). Cool or chilled doesn’t come near to describing.

Overlapping full-back session time it is then.

*rubs hands in veteran right wing-back*
*where's the midfield cover?*
*slowest bloody centre-half pairing ever?*

Teams in. Three 40 minute halves. Placheta at leftback.

I’d say 3 at the back 2 up front and the rest in the middle

Or … get rid of a left wing back then play a defensive 3.

This squad is so uninspiring!   The manager’s filling me with dread too.

Looks like Rowe has definitely made the cut. Springett probably. Maybe even Placheta.

Mumba gone. Tzolis almost certainly, too.

Think it's 4-2-3-1 with Barnes in the hole, Rowe and Springett on the flanks, and Placheta and Stacey at full-back. This has got "attempted overloads on the flanks" all over it.

Do you mean the 3-5-2 we don't play so that justifies getting rid of Mumba?

Good to sara getting some pitch time and Christian straight in at the deep-end.

It's just a preseason friendly. All you Sherlocks can calm down.

In terms of form, totally agree. In terms of seeing if a style of play is developing (especially as a fair few seem to agree that we don't seem to have a clear identity in terms of playing style) then I would say pre-season games are intriguing.

I see no Rashica in the team or bench. I may have to put my Rashica fan shirt on the bonfire.

Thats as maybe but we have done the fitness stage and the warm up games to test the fitness.Given the opposition I think we are at the serious end of pre season and its time to get an idea of the team he wishes to play, not playing players out of position - Placheta at left/wing back.Nah never going to happen.

I would just be pleased to see a pattern of play and i am not talking this high press/low press nonsense, all teams use a variation of that,I dont class that as a pattern of play.

Springett and Rowe getting some serious pre-season minutes so assume they're both going to be part of the first team proper this season?

Part of the reason Mumba's gone, I reckon.
