Why not get another 3 or 4 , just in case For the uncertain Future perhaps. Could do with another 6 goalies really , and a few DCMs  of prem standard., not to mention  twelve Centrehalves... oh and a clutch of no 10s ( with two feet , of course).

I'm with the OP's perseverance on this matter.

An injury to Sargent and we could be short of genuine goal-power, but this has all been bounced around before and more than once. Some have faith in Idah's ability to finally come good, others expect more goals to come from midfield/wide men.

All three views could be proven to be valid.
