Staying up in the PL requires a different approach

Recommended Posts

We can't outplay the best teams and we are not physically stronger than the lower placed teams,

We need players more like a Pulis team at the back and in central midfield to make us hard to beat. We can then save the Farkeball for the final third.

If we get relegated this will be the big question won't it.

Unlike last time we have spent some money and our players aren't experiencing top flight footy for the first time.

It will be fascinating to see how we fair against Palace, Burnley, Newcastle, Brighton, Brentford, Watford and Soton. I'm praying that we'll have enough talent to register victories and draws but fear being bullied ... again.

I would rather be relegated than watch Pulis-style football week in week out.

But you can't be pulis at the back and farke at the front, farkeball is a back to front transition, with pulis style at the back that simply can't happen.

Here's another fan nabbed who would rather be Championship than EPL.

No.

I would rather play in the EPL, than the championship. The logic of your argument, is that the only way we can stay up is to play "Pulis-ball."

Sorry, I am rather more ambitious than that: I want us to stay up and play decent football.

Don't take the pig mince bait mate. He loves it when we lose just like Keith Scott, they only come out to play when we lose. Got a feeling one of them could be that Selwyn Drake bloke for those of you familiar with our Facebook page.

Ah well, I am afraid Norwich are not capable of competing on quality because they don't have the resources. If you want to stay up playing football, then you need the club to be sold to someone who is going to put in the big money. Fans can't have it both ways. If they want to stay with the Socialists then you have to be spoilers rather than artists.

Fan's can't have it either way let alone both. They don't have those choices Vinnie boy. You are testament to that.

I long for the glory days of Chris Hughton when we did earn the occasional point

I bet Hughton longs for the day when he could win a match or two. Both names on this thread, Hughton, pointless at the very bottom of the Championship, and Pullis, out of work, are from a bygone age whose football is outdated.

Pulis style of football came about following a call to to Sir Alex Ferguson asking him how to stay in the Premier League. Sir Alex Ferguson told him:

‘Listen you ain’t gonna win a lot of games away from home in the Premier League but you’ve got to make the Britannia a fortress and you’ve got to do things that teams aren’t going to be comfortable with.’

“‘If any of the top six sides ever give you compliments you’re not doing it in the right way.’

“Because you’ve got to get teams to despise you and despise the way you play."

The Socialists are there by the consent of the fans otherwise they would have been hounded out like Chase.

Well if that's the case then they are there by consent of the fans who don't want them yet do beggar all about hounding them out.

Chase had a minority shareholding and that was why he was easier to get out.

The idea that fans can force a majority shareholder (s) out is cloud cuckoo , Pig. The only way is to buy them out . And that is only if they wanted to sell, which they do not. Fans could lay siege to Carrow Road for the rest of time , and Delia wouldn’t sell.

History suggests that we have a stable club that is well run. I’m happy with that side of things

however  13 successive defeats suggests that we don’t have the players to stay up. We don’t have the players because we can’t attract players here with relegation provision and a limited war chest.
Our style of play wins the the Championship by miles but doesn’t work so well against Prem sides. This seems obvious to me already but if the management decide they cannot change a system then what can anyone do? It could be too ingrained in the players .

Watching Max and Williams playing so high yesterday at times looked like suicidal football to me .
But I’m a canary that sits shivering with nerves and fear when I watch so there isn’t much I can do , and I ain’t going anywhere.

This may well be true, but Pulis teams were horrible well before he got one to the Premier league!

Pulis signed strong players such as Robert Huth, Steven N’Zonzi, Peter Crouch, Ricardo Fuller. Rory Delap created goals with a long throw-in.

We need some of those types of strong, quality signings,
