Nice try @Rock The Boat. Conservatives have never lost Chesham, in fact their majority has never been below 10,000 and their vote share has never fallen below 50%. Until now, when the seat is now the third safest LibDem seat in the country. If this was reapeated at a GE, unlikely I know, this would lose them around 140 seats and they would be wiped out in their traditional Conservative heartlands.

Seen it a million times ( Orpington, Newbury, Eastbourne etc etc). Next GE it will revert to normal.

I'm not sure this time. You're losing the commuter belt. The fishing and farming communities will be lost now they've been betrayed. The youth vote will be gone after the covid/exam shambles. The university cities are not having any of your nonsense. The moderate tories do not like the Blukip version of their party and will go LibDem/abstain.

Once we come out of the covid fog people will see the carnage of brexit and I don't think Johnson saying wiff-waff will cover it up.

At least you'll have Hartlepool and, probably, Batley.

That's three examples, just 999,997 to go!

Maybe, but it is now the third safest LibDem seat in the country.

Much more likely that demographic changes mean this seat is lost to Johnson and his truth twisting bastards forever.

It is always strange that the old canard is raised for events that reflect badly on the Tories, but the loss of the red wall is seen as permanent for Labour. Why is that?

Because Labour are in a crowded market place alongside the Lib Dems and the Greens.  Now that UKIP has packed up and gone home, the Tories stand in a market without competitors.

The moderate tories now see LibDems as a viable alternative. So the further right the tories go there is a vacuum left for a less headbanging alternative.👍

The Tories have moved drastically to the left under Johnson. Continuing lockdown, regardless of whether you are for or against it, is fundamentally against Tory principles of free choice.

The massive rise in public spending, again not arguing whether it is right or wrong, is also fundamentally at odds with the Tory principle of small government.

Johnson fails the test of true Toryism on so many levels that it is laughable to suggest that this is a right wing government.

As a Tory voter my gripe is Boris Johnson, and my vote will not return until he has gone.

Well at least we agree this current government has abandoned traditional Conservative values, but it has not “moved left” - by any reasonable measure it has moved far far to the right. Hence the comments around the new fascism that is undermining the very foundation of our country.

Andy Burnham is demanding that Nicola Sturgeon agrees to pay compensation to Manchester businesses and residents hit by her "hypocritical" travel ban between Scotland and parts of the north of England.

The mayor of Greater Manchester accused the First Minister of treating the north of England with "contempt" by abruptly announcing the "disproportionate" legal restrictions on Friday without any consultation.

Seems a overreaction from The Telegraph and Andy Burnham.

The Scottish first minister on Friday announced at a coronavirus briefing that "anyone" travelling in Greater Manchester or Lancashire should "think carefully about whether your journey is really necessary".

Andy is the man I would like to see a Leader, normally hits the right note

"Sharing his frustration on social media, Mr Burnham said: "When the UK Government have made changes affecting Greater Manchester, they called us in advance to discuss.

"The Scottish Government gave us no such courtesy. Sorry, but it's straightforward arrogance to say Scottish ministers shouldn't deign to speak to English mayors."

Far from overreacting, it is Nicola Sturgeon overreaching, she should mind her own Scottish business. Her cabal of SNP gender correcting politicians should focus on how to make COP26 a safe and relevant conference and how to become Independent from the coat tails of a thoroughly corrupt Scottish judiciary and police.

Isn't she trying to make COP26 safer by questioning whether people should be taking unessesary journeys?

She is questioning alright, but thats all she can do. Would it be unnecessary for campaigners to come/march to Scotland and protest about our lack of action in the UK? Is that what she is talking about.

This government has higher public spending and will borrow more money than any previous Labour government. By this measure alone this is not a conservative government.

The only fascism we need to worry about is the woke fascism of the progressive left and their strategy of cancel culture. That is what undermines the very foundation of our country.

to put it simpler for you. Does Nicola Sturgeon want to stop protesters, from Manchester or elsewhere, walking to the COP 26 to protest. Look what she said.

As for your 'I don't think I want to know'. Why do you bother to comment?

It's polite to explain to people that you don't understand what they are trying to say. It's also polite to explain that they don't need to explain further as you don't think it will make any difference.
