yellowrider120 920 Posted May 8, 2019 Having a nightmare first half according to old fashioned radio. If we were not worried about the media rumours of Max being flogged off to replace him, I think we ought to be!
wooster 134 Posted May 8, 2019 On the telly they all look bad - slow, indecisive and unable to pass to each other. Ajax look so much better
Darth Canary1 92 Posted May 8, 2019 Ajax are great to watch just like another team we all know😀
crispeduk 282 Posted May 8, 2019 Spot on Darth, can we play Spurs early on! Re Max, a £30m bid plus Kane as cover for Teemu might come close.

TIL 1010 5,246 Posted May 8, 2019 Spurs are that bad they have pulled it back to 2-2 from 2 nil down.
wooster 134 Posted May 8, 2019 Fair point but it doesn't change their poor performance in the first half.
Ian 1,212 Posted May 8, 2019 I suppose you don't think us winning the title changes the poor performance in our first 6 games either?

wooster 134 Posted May 8, 2019 Game of two halves - pleased for Spurs. If the Europa Cup games well tomorrow all four finalists could be EPL teams.
Herman 11,136 Posted May 8, 2019 Marvellous result. From a family of Spurs fans it makes life a bit happier (for a while).😀

They went in 2-0 down, it doesn’t take a great deal to think that might be what you could call “disappointing”! It was a fairly ordinary first half all round if truth be told - Spuds did hit the woodwork though - but it certainly came to life in a big way after the break! wooster 134 Posted May 8, 2019 Can we just be clear that if Spurs were poor in the first half and much better in the second half, they were still poor in the first half. I don't get the criticism - at no point did I say it could never be turned around - my original comment was simply on their performance in the first half. Did I predict the match result? No.
keelansgrandad 6,680 Posted May 9, 2019 Easy to say Spurs were poor first half. I prefer to think that for 25 minutes, Ajax produced some really good football. However, as they showed at WHL, they cannot keep that pace up for the whole 90 minutes. And they wilted under the pressure of De Ligt having to defend, to cover the woeful Daley Blind, against Llorrente, and the gap that left in their midfield being exploited by Spurs running on to the lay off from said Spanish striker. Van wink 2,994 Posted May 9, 2019 Trippier had a much better second half, but has not been great over the season as a whole.
