Excuses from you all  🙂

So tell us whether it is a FACT or not that the volume of traffic is well down on normal levels at the ports.

We've just had our first truck in from France and as has been explained the deliveries were put on hold pre Christmas until they knew what was going on.

I bet he half inched them before they shut the plant. In fact, that is why Honda pulled out, but it was a wrench👩‍🔧

Anybody who voted to stay in Europe should not be punished by the punative rigmarole negotiated at the last minute by a cabinet of nincompoops.

As for the ports. they are fighting each other for Government hand outs. Gt. Yarmouth did not get a ferry service, because Harwich objected to it, becauise they would have had to share some of their funding with the outer harbour shambles.

Felixstowe is now too small for the volume of sea traffic wanting to land and Liverpool has a finite dock space. The answer is we can't cope, as four years aren't enough for us to prepare properly. Useless cabinet will have to go, Williamson is a liability, as is Hancock.

Why do you think they have built the Lorry parks? Of course there will be delays, the extra paperwork and red tape make that inevitable.

European share trading flees London on first full day of Brexit, FT.

Quite disturbing read

'London’s financial sector started to feel the full effects of Brexit on the first trading day of 2021 as nearly €6bn of EU share dealing shifted away from the City to facilities in European capitals. Trading in equities such as Santander, Deutsche Bank and Total moved to EU marketplaces or back to primary exchanges such as the Madrid, Frankfurt and Paris bourses, according to data from Refinitiv — an abrupt change for investors in London who have grown accustomed to trading shares in Europe across borders without restrictions.

Business on London hubs for euro-denominated share trading, including Cboe Europe, Turquoise and Aquis Exchange, shifted to their new EU venues set up late last year to cater for the end of the Brexit transition. The volume amounted to a sixth of all business on exchanges in Europe on Monday. “It’s been an extraordinary day. Shifting liquidity is one of the hardest things to do. It’s not ‘Big Bang’ — it’s ‘Bang and It’s Gone’. The City has lost its European share business,” said Alasdair Haynes, chief executive of Aquis Exchange. Although not the City’s most lucrative business, the departure of the share trading will mean less in tax receipts for the UK government. Mr Haynes also noted that it could encourage companies to list in the EU to benefit from smoother, more active trading conditions."

"But the UK’s trade deal with the EU largely omitted financial services. UK prime minister Boris Johnson admitted the agreement had failed to meet his ambitions on the sector. The EU had refused to recognise most of the UK’s regulatory systems as “equivalent” to their own, forcing all euro-denominated business to move back to the bloc. "

worth a few minutes of your time to learn what an absolute fck up of this Johnson has made

you are as clueless as mouse brain

what on earth has a private UK company making a public offer have anything to do with "euro-denominated share trading" ?

and your guff about the footsie 100 merely compounds your ignorance of this matter

what next the temperature is one degree warmer in the City than it is around the Bourse - so things must be better in the UK 🤣

The only thing on the 'Positive Brexit' thread now is the ongoing embarrassment and straw clutching of RTB, SC, Jools et al.

From 2nd article

"It’s time to regain some of the distant fishing opportunities we lost in the 1980s, and the UK government just has to get on with it so we can do our jobs."

WTF? So we want our fish and every other búggers as well?

Oh dear. Swindon. As our resident car manufacturing expert, did I read correctly that Honda had to stop production this week due to a lack of parts? ... but I'm sure that's nothing to do with Brexit.

Wise words! The giveaway is Swindon's greater propensity to misspell words rather than use them with any indication of comprehension. I should, of course, offer my apologies to any bottom-feeding creatures out there who are offended to be compared with such an intellectually bereft life-form.
