Last season''s results will not be taken into account on this years tally.

All of our recent promotions were preceded by poor form

It means f.a.

All you are doing is trying to create a situation where we definitely will go down.

Surprised Lakey has not been along yet to spell out the positives from that hideous statistic. [;)]

Funny how stats to prove things people don''t like are scorned yet stats to prove things they do like are seen as gospel.

That''s a shame because we aren''t going to get anywhere near 60 points this season

Yeah Tilly, well I try to look forwards, not back.  The very recent past has seen us kick start the season in a match where the players were under enormous pressure to win - and they won - and a match where they gave it a good go against a confident leeds side and who scored against the run of play - even if it was a bit self inficted - at least they gave it a good go.
Looking back too far is largely pointless unless people are looking for things to add to their negative outlook.

It''s more a case of people pulling ridiculous stats from their backsides to prove that we aren''t very good. We can see with our own eyes that we''re not good enough.

Lakey, I understand the idea of looking forward, but I don''t think this has to mean that you block out everything that''s happened in the recent past. 4 out of 21 is a terrible statistic and it shows where we are atm...lower regions of Championship (looking down rather than up).

For me the biggest problem is , that you can see hardly any progress in the side''s performances!!! I mean the win against Preston was nice but we were awful on the night! When I try looking forward...it doesn''t half look grim...

Secondly I don''t like the fact that cash rules football...but it is a fact...you need some spending power... Changes at the club have not realized anything (yet)...and I can''t see them realise anything because we don''t have the money.

Looking forward: the need for money to spend will only get more important (which I deplore) , are you denying this?

Farke''s league record is:

P 51 W 16 D 16 L 19

Win % 31.3%

Points per game. 1.25

Whilst last season''s results have no bearing on this season; 5 games is not enough to make any meaningful conclusion. Farke''s overall win ratio is not exciting but is close to the 33% that statistically you''d expect over a large number of games with 3 possible outcomes per game.

So, he is performing pretty much bang average and at about 60 points per season will keep us around mid-table which would appear to be the expectation of our board.

I don''t deny that money has taken over the game and will increase it''s importance.  What I don''t believe is that success is just down to money - and there is a lot to be said for not being in debt or beholden to anyone financially.  Time will tell, I suppose it wouldn''t be a surprise if we struggle this season, but what I really hope is that the players and management believe they can compete and do well enough to get up the table and challenge top six.
We have the players to do it imo - and some players who will be important for us this season are still settling in or only had a few matches - Rhodes, Pukki, Hernandez, Thompson, Marshall, Krul for instance.  Some haven''t feaured at all yet and it will be interesting to see if any of them can take their chances when they get them - Passlack and Godfrey for instance.
Looking forwards I see development and improvement, certainly this season as it progresses and after that who knows....a lot depends on where we finish the season.

We tried to eliminate all the high earners and bring in something cheaper which usually means a poorer squad, but being in players like Rhodes, Krul, Hernandez, and Buendia we have done quite well. Now it''s a matter of getting them to play in a style that suits them.

Agree Swindon, and that''s what I blame the manager for...some of them have been quite astute signings ... But he isn''t playing to their strenghts... sideways passing will not get the best out of Hernandez or Buendia!

Give it a rest, I can read and listen to match reports. By all accounts we gave it a good go, especially early on when we were on top - or so reports say.

Take it from someone who watched the game. We did not give it a good go! We played well in short spells. Nothing more and the result was still the same!

You should give it a rest commenting on the performance of games you don''t even attend or watch on the tv!

Any other football club and the manager would have been sacked long before stacking up this record.

But hey, as Wynnie stated at the last AGM, other clubs are wrong and the manager must be given time (to get the club relegated). There is no advantage to be gained by sacking a manager prematurely. You might end up staying up instead.
