paul moy 235 Posted February 25, 2018 Bristol City lost 1-0 to Cardiff....... Well, I''m still optimistic !!!
Capt. Pants 5,013 Posted February 25, 2018 Only 6 for Millwall (and scum) who are in good form and winnable fixtures coming up. It''s over.

Indy 3,471 Posted February 25, 2018 On our season form we’re likely to win 4, lose 4 and draw 4 of our last 12 games, so 16 points likely, which most likely won’t get us top 6.It would be nice to get a few wins and finish higher the the binners, given they’re 90 million in debt, rent their ground and none of their players would make it into our squad it would be embarrassing to finish below them. Capt. Pants 5,013 Posted February 25, 2018 We''ve only won 5 out of 17 home games, not the form we need to get out of this league, more relegation.
Guest Posted February 25, 2018 Trouble is the number of games left is diminishing quicker than the points gap.
Guest Posted February 25, 2018 And to be honest, I don''t think we are anywhere ready for a return to the Prem.
lake district canary 4,831 Posted February 25, 2018 It''s not about getting into the top six, it''s about recognising that the challenge is still there to have a go at. There are enough points available and that should be the focus. It is on until it is not.
Making Plans 957 Posted February 25, 2018 If by some fliuke we got promoted this season then we would need to spend every penny of £100m+ we got for getting there to have any chance of survival and I can''t see that happening.

That is what they are employed to do.
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted February 25, 2018 Finishing below the binners wouldn''t be as embarrassing as supporting them....
Guest Posted February 25, 2018 Finishing below the binners wouldn''t be as embarrassing as supporting them.... Surprised there Double N. You normally choose your words carefully but if we finish below them we could be said to be supporting them.
Surfer 1,547 Posted February 25, 2018 "Only 6 for Millwall (and scum) who are in good form and winnable fixtures coming up. alex_ncfc 686 Posted February 25, 2018 We are way off the pace. Our ''goals for'' column says it all and sums up why we won''t be making the play-offs.I think around where we are now is where we are likely to finish

To get to 75 points we need to win at least 9 of our remaining 12 games and sadly they are not all away from home.

Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted February 25, 2018 That 6th spot is up for grabs but get real despite our decent form we are 14th so 7 other clubs better placed than us
paul moy 235 Posted February 25, 2018 All of our away games are very winnable indeed, but even if our home form was good I must admit some of those such as Cardiff and Villa look difficult. I''m certainly not one for giving up though as long as it''s mathematically possible.
lake district canary 4,831 Posted February 25, 2018 Well, if results go in our favour, by this time next week it is entirely possible we could be only four or five points off sixth place. As Granpappy Keelan says, all you can do is win your next game and see what happens.
Tetteys Jig 851 Posted February 25, 2018 Might as well keep plugging away. Annoying now that we didn’t win though. We have everything going for us with our game bar composure in front of goal. If we can get that clicking we will fly up the table. Making up 7 points is certainly not out of reach.
shaunieboy77 84 Posted February 25, 2018 What happens to the 7 clubs above us while we make up all this ground in 12 games.

[/quote]Results went in our favour this week but, despite being at home and playing against weaker opposition, we screwed up.When we''ve got to win pretty much every game you can''t afford slip ups like that. Some of the teams between 6th and 13th will fade or blow up but not all 7 of them will.
lake district canary 4,831 Posted February 25, 2018 It''s quite simple, the teams that put the best run in over the remaining games will be the ones that challenge for that 6th position - it could be any of them, right down to us in 14th.
Surfer 1,547 Posted February 25, 2018 "What happens to the 7 clubs above us while we make up all this ground in 12 games"Often they play each other, or teams above 6th, or local derbies. Making Plans 957 Posted February 26, 2018 I understand that it is possible but the issues are that (1) we do not score enough goals, (2) we are unable to finish teams off, (3) we do not win enough home games and (4) we do not convert draws into wins.As we have suffered from those failings pretty much from game 1 to game 34, and Farke has been thus far unable to address and correct any of those failings, what makes people think that he could suddenly, with only 12 games to go, pull a massive rabbit out of the hat and cure all those failings now? king canary 8,758 Posted February 26, 2018 @Making PlansYep- it just flies in the face of all logic and common sense. Is it still mathematically possible? Of course. But anyone who thinks it might is basing it on nothing other than blind faith.
ron obvious 1,711 Posted February 26, 2018 To score goals you first have to create chances. This we were not doing, often having only one or two decent chances a game.On Saturday we could easily have scored 3 in the first half. One would have done. We are narrowing the gap between winning & drawing (or losing). The rate of progress is probably too slow & too late. But not quite enough to give up all hope. OTBC!
