Lessingham Canary 108 Posted May 27, 2015 Rumour is we are one of 2 clubs interested in Robert Huth from Stoke, could be a good addition to our defence ?
Buh 0 Posted May 27, 2015 Ah yesForgot how fun this "Norwich have been linked with" BS is...
Icecream Snow 777 Posted May 27, 2015 Would have thought he was more likely to sign for Leicester, since it''s closer to Stoke
Lessingham Canary 108 Posted May 27, 2015 Agree Leicester may have head start as been on loan there, but stranger things happen. Link to story;http://www.first4lcfc.co.uk/blog/premier-league-trio-montior-stoke-city-defender/And yes there will be lots of rumours and links
Rich T The Biscuit 676 Posted May 27, 2015 Would be perfect for us, just look at the job he did at Leicester. Would imagine they might be the other club though as he was immense for them and played a huge part in them staying up.And I wonder if the news about Garrido might mean a loan move for the lad who went to West Ham from Hamilton. He''s not going to displace Cresswell (if they keep hold of him). I liked Friend from Boro but can''t see them selling him, although money does talk.... thas a rummun 2 Posted May 27, 2015 I can''t believe he''s only 30. Seems to have been around for years. Would have guessed 33+.Certainly the sort of experienced head we should be looking at.
canarycop 232 Posted May 27, 2015 I agree re George Friend. Thought he was Boros best player in the final and has apparently been pretty decent all season.
KeiranShikari_2 0 Posted May 27, 2015 Huth isn''t particularly mobile is he? Presumed that would be a key thing when it came to any central defensive signings.
Surfer 1,547 Posted May 27, 2015 I suspect we will look for pace and mobility to allow our full backs to overload the midfield and to support attacks. I doubt that Robert Huth fits that requirement.
Tetteys Jig 851 Posted May 27, 2015 Only 30? In that case I''d deffo have him. Did well at Leicester. I''m in 2 minds about our current back two tho. Both have really grown well as a partnership and have plenty of strength and mobility.
Crossdressing Canary 0 Posted May 27, 2015 No thanks
Crabbycanary3 994 Posted May 27, 2015 I wouldn''t put Huth in front of Seb or Russ (except at corners)
chicken 3,088 Posted May 27, 2015 I can''t remember where but I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that Bournemouth were the other team interested in Huth.Either way, not a bad player to be looking at in some ways. Especially if Turner is on his way out. However, I also hope we look for a young up and coming center half as well. As much as people like to think well of R. Bennett, he has really only made a little impact on our first team since signing in January 2012 and at 25 I would expect to see him pushing hard for a first team place or be a regular. When you consider he signed at a very similar time to Jonny Howson who has become pretty much undroppable, you have to say he has struggled. GJP 79 Posted May 27, 2015 An experienced and proven Premier League defender? No. Thank. You.
True Grit 26 Posted May 27, 2015 Yes, yes and yes again. Exactly the sort of player im talking about to remould the team into a force to be reckoned with.in the top flight. An unassuming stalwart who wears his balls on his sleeve. No gimmicks, no stepovers, just hard graft, spit and polish.
True Grit 26 Posted May 27, 2015 Having a Sunday roast and pint of John smiths with huth, or drinking sunni delight and uploading dance off videos to instagram with redmond... The club can go in 2 directions, let''s hope it''s the right way.
havemyhowsonit 0 Posted May 28, 2015
Ah yesForgot how fun this "Norwich have been linked with" BS is...
Haha we are about to get linked with everyone again. Let''s start with Jordan Rhodes and Gary hooper ...
ZLF 335 Posted May 28, 2015 Not sure whether this confidence in Martin & Bassong has come from - let alone any view that they are better than Huth.It remains the weakest area of our team & we need better than both to stand a chance to survive - good squad cover (cheerio miquel, Bennett) but if we start with them next season we will struggle. Mr Angry 2,023 Posted May 28, 2015 I think you''re far more likely to be watching transgender porn with Huth than having a Sunday roast!
Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,629 Posted May 31, 2015 Huth would be an almost perfect signing for a club in our position. As much as I love Russell Martin, I''m not sure if he can be relied on to be a regular starter in the Premier League, so we could do with someone else to partner Bassong as the first choice partnership. Huth may lack pace, but he is a proven, safe pair of hands for a club at our level. Although I''d keep Martin as captain, Huth could even be next in line if we were to get him.Just a shame he is almost certainly going to Leicester.
