1. He''s hard working, got a bit of pace, does a lot for the team, likes a shot, is decent on the ball...exactly like our latest signing except Grabben doubled CMS''s highest ever Championship goal tally last year in a similar team so....no thanks!
2.
If Bassong is too good for this league Darth Catbeard then why does he now have three Premier League relegations on his CV at the age of 27.
Hoolahan has been involved in a relegation from The Championship, does that make League 1 his level? Plus he''s been injured most of this year according to an interview, he''s still a very decent defender. Compare him to Leon Barnett who has been outstanding for every club he plays for in the second tier but always looked very shakey and slow at the top level. Bassong when fit and motivated (I''ll concede he isn''t the best mentally) was very assured at the top level for us, he''d be immense in this league! However the point I was making is we currently have the best team so it''s up to us to mess it up and I''d give us maybe a 1% chance of keeping hold of a mercenary like Bassong so it''s irrelevant, just that we do need to replace whoever we lose with similar quality and we have to get this summer right
3. As it stands I''m very confident in saying we have comfortably the best squad in the division. Ruddy is the best goalkeeper, no question there. Ollson is comfortably a mid table prem player Bennet stood out at this level last time Bassong and Turner are both easily too good for this league Martin was very close to the best right back in this league last time we were here and has only improved Pilkington and Snodgrass are both in demand (for good reason) and when in form stood out as our best players Redmond and E.Bennet are both quick and would give most fullbacks in this league nightmares again they''re both PL level players. Fer is a decent CM when he''s concentrating but I don''t rate any of our other CM as anything other than lower Championship quality Hooper and Becchio are proven 20+ goal a season strikers at this level Most of the other players as subs/reserves/youth players would be the envy of pretty much every other team in this league. So.... Do everything possible to keep this team together, new contracts, massive promotion bonuses whatever. Then sign quality! Not numbers, just 2 or 3 quick, forward thinking, technical players to give us a boost and I''d be shocked if we finished outside the top 2 provided nothing disastrous happens!
4. Small, elitist country, inhabited by a mix of super rich and basically slaves with no footballing history gets the world cup...yea, nothing dodgy going on there at all.
5.
Rubbish is perhaps a bit harsh, but average Championship defender. Most clubs in the Championship are skint, we paid £300,000 for Crofts, a similar amount for Hoolahan. Says more about how broke clubs outside of the Premier League are.
I would do unspeakable, unforgivable things for 300k :P It says more about how utterly insane PL finances are!
6. Collison, Sidwell and Gnarby would be amazing. I''d take any one of them
7. We need to be promoted one way or another. Finishing outside the play offs however would be totally unacceptable.
8. We''re going up in second place again at worse. We have a decent Premier league side that had all life, confidence and attacking threat strangled out of it by an inept coaching team well out of their depth. They''re gone, a new man with a better philosophy is in who the players are fully behind who will have a huge budget for this league. Ruddy''s staying. No other keeper comes close to him at this level, he''s worth 15 points on his own. Russel Martin was the second best right back in the league last time we got promoted and has only improved R.Bennet was a stand out in this league before Ollson or Garrido will be exceptional it this level We''re not gonna concede many goals for a start Snodgrass will again make defenders look like mugs in this league and I reckon he''ll stay Redmond will scare the sh!t out of most defenders as well even if he often c0cks up once he gets beyond them. E. Bennet will also stand out. We do need new CM''s though I''ll admit RVW or Hooper will guarentee at least 15 goals this year assuming they have a poor season again by their standards and I''m sure we can afford another decent striker, if not there''s Becchio who is proven at this level. Basically we really shouldn''t be worrying about any other teams next year, they should really be worrying about us!
9. I reckon the teams in League 1 would be pretty annoyed, having to compete with a resurgent Derby next year who would walk that league, it would be utter chaos! I love our current format though, it''s so exciting and gives over half the league hope of achieving something usually for most of the season
10. I hate London, most London clubs and I''m sick of having to go there for away trips as we rarely ever do well so Rotheram please
11.
At least it isn''t as bad as McNally''s ''''rather death than relegation'''' ''''Norwich fans are the envy of world football'''' bs.
Those quotes have been taken out of context though. In a footballing sense relegation is a horrendous thing to happen, particualy to a sugar daddy-less club like ours that relied on the tv money in that league and I''m sure plenty of others clubs owners would love to have a fan base they can rely on to sell out every game in the third tier. I''m not sure anymore than 12 other clubs in this country would get attendances like we got in that league, home and away, even before Lamberts reign really took off!
12. MDMA powder was wonderful! I only did it once though because I liked it too much, that would be so easy to get hooked on. I do love a bit of weed every now and again and it was a necessity watching some of our matches the last two seasons! I just wish it was easier and more convenient to get a hold of. It''s baffling that it remains illegal while more harmful narcotics like fags and booze are. If only we weren''t run by stodgy old conservatives with no world view outside their privileged little world I bet this thread would be brilliant on WACCOE
13. Every other forum I browse is at least somewhat organised with no more than 2 threads on the same topic, no calling out popular members either. Why can''t archant employ a moderator? This place is a mess!
14. I''d love it if Derby won this, means big trouble next year financially for Redknapp and Fernandez FC, plus I really don''t like them!
15. Just.....lol! Yes Delia is some sort of tyrannical overlord of our club making all the footballing decisions based on sentimentality and wants to keep us in the championship to keep up out little old Norwich image xD And contacts to attract players? another lol!
16. Where did he get this reputation for being a flouncy lightweight from? I''ve never seen him shirk from a physical battle. His problem was getting the wrong type of service then once he lost his confidence snatching at shots and trying to do too much on the ball outside the box. He might look like a member of a boyband but he''s not exactly weak
17. That''s what I keep saying! Experience means nothing! Unless you want experience of bad football with Mackay/Warnock or experience of failure with Zola etc Worthington had no previous Championship experience, neither did Lambert, Rosler had none for Wigan, Adkins, Mcdermott etc The board know what they''re doing, Adams is the best man for the job, I look forward to bumping up some of these other ridiculous threads when we get promoted next year scoring 80+ goals
18. My thoughts on ''the Norwich way'' is a high pressing energetic game based around getting the ball forward as quickly as possible, pacy direct wingers and a big man up top. That''s what''s brought us the most success in my 12 or so years of supporting the club. Is it any wonder then that Hughtons slow paced, 0 energy game based around standing off, retreating and slow build up play was so unpopular? :P
19. Lambert didn''t coach that was Culverhouse, look at all the lower league players who improved under his training sessions and then went back to being average once they left the club. Get on the phone Mcnally NOW!
20. After meeting him a couple of times I''ve gleamed he''s a pretty nice, decent lad. I hope if he''s told more attacking football next year and to be our main man he''d stay. The Championship is below the Dutch/Portuguese leagues where he scored 15-20 regularly and I think if we play to his strengths in a 46 game season he''s more than capable of 30 goals. I''d be doing everything possible to keep him
