1. Thought tonight was a really good exercise. Crawley provided a proper test, the Academy players gained experience, (made a few mistakes but they will learn from it) and Cuellar and Jerome got a bit of match fitness. I liked the fact that when we were under a bit of pressure, Adams didn''t play safe by bringing on Bradley Johnson, but showed faith in another Academy product.
2.
Adams has a lot to prove. Yes he''s started this season well but his record is still in negative equity. I''m really happy tonight. But I''m not getting carried away.
2nd attempt: How the long winter nights must fly by in your happy abode
3. I have no qualms about the army of highly trained, highly skilled engineers working behind the scenes providing quality viewing. But when I see a very average ex player (Danny Mills) being interviewed on the beach saying nothing of any significance, then I think they are taking the p***.
4. I think that the fact that we managed a 0-0 draw against a 10 man Honduras team and the main comment from the management team was how delighted they were that '' we didn''t get any injuries'' sums it up really.
5.
To be fair to the beeb, for those slating them, they do have both tv and radio + other formats to cover - no one looks to itv to cover the web, for instance, and if the beeb didn''t those same moaners would moan about their lack of coverage....
I completely agree that the BBC coverage is far superior to ITV''s but do they really need 152 more staff than them (actually based in Brazil) to cover their radio and web commitments. Nice work if you can get it.
6.
On a side note, BBC are sending 272 staff to Brazil to cover the World Cup and ITV are sending 120, both will cover the same number of games.Nice to know that so many BBC staff are on a jolly at out expense.
That''s quite normal. At the 2008 Euros they had the largest contingent of any country, rented a huge office complex for the duration. Only thing missing was a football team from any of the Home Nations!
7. I am more disappointed that Foster is going than the fact that Ruddy isn''t. The reason for Foster''s ''retirement'' was that he was gutless. Hart was always being picked as no. 1 and he didn''t have enough about him to stay and fight for a place. That was until his Uncle Roy came along and persuaded him otherwise.
8. I''ve got no problem with this, just good natured banter between fans. I''ll look out for it and give it a wave, just let us know what time you''ll be taking off from Ipswich Airport...... sorry what was that..... you don''t have an airport any more? Well I suppose just being a Town rather than a City you wouldn''t, would you?.
9.
that aside and being surprised there was no CB on the bench, I was encouraged and really feel we have some points in us regardless of who we play in the next three.
But we did have the tricky winger Ryan Bennett who can play CB if called upon.
10.
I think it''s very unfortunate that we have been without Bennett all season. He looked like he''d really developed as a player when he played against Everton on opening day, I really thought this could be his season to establish himself. Hopefully next season.
Absolutely agree with this, thought he was m.o.m contender in the Everton game. The season "might" have been so much different if Elliot had remained fit
11. Well at least if we win next week it won''t be because they were on the beach.
12.
" This gave us a little bit more confidence but, trust me, if Wes Brown''s header had gone in, it would have been a completely different game
I always thought that defending was part of the game, that''s why we have defenders and a goalkeeper, to help keep the ball out of the net! To cite this as the reason that we won is frankly ludicrous.
13. The new trend for a  minutes applause instead of a minutes respectful silence. This has been adopted because a few ignorant knobs don''t have the self control to keep quiet for 60 seconds.
14. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26581796   Being the fair minded person he is, I wonder if he also mentioned how fortunate Chamakh was to be on the pitch to score a penalty minutes after he should have been sent of because of another refereeing ''mistake''
15. The despair of being minutes from a Wembley League Cup Final appearance, beating Chelsea 3-2 (5-2 on aggregate) when the fog came down and the match was abandoned. All was well though because we won the re-arranged game 1-0. Pity we didn''t show up for the Final though.
16. Normally, edited highlights can make a poor match seem quite entertaining, but they seemed to manage the opposite with this one. It was probably tailored to suit the pre-written script that Mill had prepared.
17. Even Ricky shook hands with him as he was being substituted.
18. Just got back from the game and read through this thread. Am quite relieved that most of the contributors have no influence on tactics!
19. " That being said he isn''t and he owes us nothing"   As he is currently under contract with us I think you''ll find that he does.
20. The amount of romance left in the FA Cup was emphasised when the holders, Wigan, started their defence of the trophy at home in front of less than 7000 people. How many did they take to Wembley last May?
21. The Writer asks "were you at the misery in Milan". Obviously he wasn''t, as I can''t remember any misery as we continued singing until well after the final whistle.
