The last time we won in Oz we had Anderson and Swann in their prime, ably supported by Tremlett and Bresnan. To win the Ashes next series we're pretty much going to replace the whole bowling line up. Tongue is potentially the only survivor for the 25/26 series, and he's had injury problems.

Our starting XI looks competitive for this division. If we're reasonably lucky with injuries and can build momentum from the outset, I'm hopeful of a top six finish.

Yes, and we were afforded these opportunities because we were relegated immediately after promotion. Didn't win it much in the 70s, 80s and early 90s to be fair though...as we spent quite a few years in the top division 😉.

I think Palace were linked with Omo, so interest may firm up if Guehi gets a move this summer, which isn't unlikely.
