  1. So what you're saying is we're unbeaten on Christmas Day for almost 67 years !!! Has to be worth a star, or an angel or something on our shirts.
  2. You have no idea (insert winky face). For the sake of clarity in this conflict-free zone, this is a joke referencing Delia’s agm response to our Connor – it does not imply approval or disapproval of the poster’s standpoint and does not require likes or dislikes. Normal terms and conditions apply. Joking apart, I respect your viewpoint but there’s far fewer hands on deck in all ‘newspaper’ offices than in the past, while the unseen time consuming routine tasks are still expected to be completed before getting to the tasty stuff. Full marks for the clean-up of this board – it’s refreshing to wake up to find points of view being shared without having to cut through a wildfire of abuse.
  3. Agree and after, at last, the Everton points deduction, the Billy Big Boots clubs might at last start to respect the rule book if a couple more collars get felt.
  4. Ha, just been reminded my Grandad was a ginger and his Dad was an ace fell runner in the Lakes. Not sure if he was a Carlisle fan though. .... wow, this home brew's syrong, or even strong !!
  5. I'm not a Norfolk boy but it's where I caught football and would rather sh*t razor blades than support another club. Doesn't mean there's not other clubs I appreciate though - and I can enjoy watching them without risking feeling ill when playing out from the back goes wrong. Anyway I'm not a ginger (not that I have any hair now), so I don't only wet my pants over the club when things are going well. OTBC
  6. Bu**er - thought that's where I was now !!!
  7. Much as it's fun to press buttons of trolls if ever there's a time to ignore them this is it. It would be the ultimate destructive troll triumph to get this board spiked - don't give him the satisfaction.
  8. Foxes excellent but like the way Brummies are hanging in there. Increasingly have a liking for Wayne Rooney as he's more and more up and coming coach, less and and less the star player people wanted to measure him against. Also liked the warm way he responded to a young mascot who asked him for a selfie when he was tensely waiting for kick-off in the dugout - against Coventry I think.I know - doesn't make him a better coach 😃
  9. First time since the last derby I've seen the Binners for a full game - what a disappointment they were. Kept waiting for them to bring Morsy on until a commentator mentioned his name for giving away a free kick 😀
  10. Funny isn't it - we miss chances and we're carp. The other team misses chances and we're lucky.
  11. Trouble is he's probably got up again by now.
  12. Don't want them having any excuses - don't forget they were 'all over us' that time when the referee cheated by noticing their guy played volleyball on the goal line.
  13. Well one piece floating around in midfield is never enough really, is it?
  14. Pretty sure as a young journalist Connor will have faced much fiercer put-downs, while Delia and Michael will have been asked far worse and responded well more harshly, but yes, it’s right to defend him. I can recall a friend from the past was threatened with leaving by a third-floor window when, alone in the boardroom with the owner of a faraway club, he asked the wrong question. And if I remember correctly (apologies if it’s incorrectly), Connor upset Daniel by suggesting there was no Plan B or something of the sort – he didn’t let that hold him back, just kept his head down for a short time, probably coached and helped away from the direct firing line by the likes of Paddy. One day he’ll likely do similar himself for a younger colleague. We are fortunate to still have the Pink Un in its present form. Amidst the industry’s jobs carnage some sports desks have fared far worse than in the Fine City, where old-school working standards remain. Box-on lads. Btw The club's meeja team could give a little thought to backdrops in public appearances - that pot plant was the star of quite a few agm images - Malcom Tucker would've had a ***@&,*** glorious Thick of It reaction.
  15. Pity, I thought you made a reasoned well thought out point.
  16. Ben Godfrey on loan anybody? 🙂 I know, the wedge Everton would want, given their ffp come uppance, would be off the scale, unless perhaps there's a full-on fire sale, but a nice thought. Btw Talksh*te allegation has Spurs maybes in for him in the window - if true anyone got a handle on terms of any add-ons in our deal? Can't believe there'd be much if any of a mark-up, but possibly a percentage of any sell-on ??? Anyway, If he's been on Spurs radar Knapper should have the inside track and re add-ons Webber did cut some very good deals for us as well as those bad 'uns.
  17. My brain hurts. And no, that's not a clue, I haven't got one of those.
  18. How it pans out at any club seems down to the maturity of both parties, if they can work together and how they agree to share responsibilities. Not sure any manager/head coach, call it what you will, can in 2023 carry out the job to the best of their ability at the same time as, for example, slapping down an arsey agent at or near a transfer window – if ever you need someone outside the training/coaching regime to lead a group negotiating towards securing an outcome shared with the team boss, that is it (although I suspect Neil Warnock could kick agent **** along with everybody else's). It's down to mutual trust and keeping everyone else onside will be heavily influenced by the level of transparency in that – and there’s plenty on this board who will quickly spot any rift. Most of us seem to be quite rationally presuming, given the playing record, that Knapper will decide if he can work with Wagner and wants to, but it takes two to tango and Wagner himself may decide it’s not for him. Another thing that seems to get overlooked is that Knapper, seemingly highly rated and recommended in football and business terms, is still young and although Wagner’s record doesn’t imply that he should assert a senior role in any working partnership, he’s been through the mill and has plenty of football life experience to share with the new Sporting Director to their mutual benefit. Just a thought, if they could agree on the appointment of additional coaching support from Knapper’s previous club that could be more immediate and more significant than any loan deals with Arsenal. That might also be a true indicator of trust between the pair. I’m feeling weirdly optimistic – cue Wagner sacking in the morning 😀 Btw I'm not suggesting Colin at the Carrer.
  19. Agree Indy and timing is the key. And if Knapper’s as smart as we all hope he is, given his past, he’ll be sharp enough to know that a whizz of a young Arsenal coach will have ideas way above the technical abilities of many of our players. That’s not an insult to our squad, that’s reality right now. Almost every coach in football gets dumped sooner or later but unless there is a clear succession plan unknown to us, sacking Wagner now could do more damage than good. Forget the injuries, forget the line-up gambles and baffling substitutions, continue the spirit shown at Cardiff and things could look very different come derby day – both clubs have an international break and five games to go before then, plenty of time for things to go right (and wrong) for both sides,. I’d happily take a random defender clipping in a City winner from the edge of the area – would be funny. 🤩
