  1. Worth pointing out that a steward was taken away from the ground by police for kicking Grealish during the celebration. The kick: https://streamable.com/k2eyh Taken from the ground:
  2. Surely it is the home club's responsibility to keep the players safe. The stewarding on display was diabolical.
  3. An absolute disgrace. No matter which club or the circumstances, the book should be thrown at them. I am utterly shocked by what has happened. Fines are utterly meaningless and the fans that cause these incidents do not give a damn about them. Dock them points or place next year's fixture behind closed doors.
  4. That bench is outstanding. I would be happy with any of them to start - cannot remember the last season we have had this much solid depth.
  5. If there is anything you can critisize our young fullbacks for, physicality is not one of them. Lewis and Aarons are incredibly fit and have excelent pace. The nature of our possession game means that we often try to create overloads by flinging our fullbacks forwards. It makes for exciting footbal, but clearly we are often punished at the back for it. We also can sometimes struggle menatally and while 95% of the time our players are incredibly composed and proffessional, we sometimes get a little rattled. Both those light 'critisisms' will be ironed out with more game time. They are both very young and getting consistently better as they gain more experience. At the moment, the sky is the limit for both of them.
  6. How many times do we see Zimmerman fling himself wildly in front of shots? Blocking shots is a huge part of being a CB. I do not for one second think he has jumped to block that with his hand. I also do not think it is an unnatural position. If you run and jump, your hands naturally come up. It is an interesting debate and no one's opinion is wrong. I think the main point I was trying to make is that VAR itself did nothing wrong for that call. Any blame or praise should be for the referee who reviewed the footage.
  7. Firstly, Man Utd's penalty yesterday was never a penalty in a million years. However, I do not think there was anything actually wrong with the VAR process for that specific call. A referee using clear and detailed video evidence to aid the enforcing of rules, is not a bad thing. The problem is, no one understands the rules as written. I think the VAR officials were right to point out that the ball hit an arm on the way through, which it did. I think it was right for the referee to go an have a closer look on the monitor. The process failed when the referee incorrectly elected to decide that it was an intentional handball after watching the detailed video evidence. Has to go down as a refereeing/ruling error in my opinion, not a VAR error.
  8. He never really connected with the fans here but he was a good player for us and (in my opinion) always gave his all. Yes, he was a whingy lad on the pitch at times, but it usually seemed in an effort to win free-kicks over a lack of effort. This story surprised me a little bit as I've heard good things about his professionalism from numerous people. Will be interested to see what he said and the circumstances around it.
  9. While I assume everyone has seen Nelson's taunting of their fans... Readings winner is a great watch. Absolutely pathetic defending, particularly from their hero Chambers. His questioning of his colleagues mentality after the game at CR doesn't look so inspiring after that performance...
  10. Considering all the Ipswich/Lambert talk of fight and passion, it really is pathetic if they complain about a steward doing his job of restraining an angry man who completely lost his head.
  11. He is so good with his feet - better than both Wes and Madders you could argue. The ball just seems to stick to his foot, left or right. His little flicks and eye for a pass are absolutely key for us in the final third. Last season we really missed that final ball. He is emotionally charged though - which is both a good and a bad thing. He can sometimes get a little stroppy and melodramatic, which I'd like to see him mature on a little bit. Take nothing away from him though. Absolutely brilliant.
  12. Chalobah was definitely decent for them, and they knocked it around quite nicely. Certainly a decent midfield performance for them. Will Keane was an absolute donkey and their defence melted every time we came at them. Chambers is so useless that he might as well be a Norwich legend. I didn't like Steipermann rolling around - but when we get kicked as much as we do, your players are going to start reacting.
  13. He seems like an old bitter man who has lost his class. That said, he was brilliant when he managed us and we should never forget what he did for us in the past. But yeah - he deserves the reception he gets now. Definitely burnt his "warm reception" card.
  14. There is a comment on there saying 'I would rather be relegated than have a player roll around like Steipermann' What planet do these people live on?
  15. I get pissed off when other goalkeepers do it. It would be hypocritical to like it just because it is my team.
  16. I did not like what he did before the Sharp penalty one bit. Needless yellow and unsporting in my opinion. Sharp must have felt brilliant smashing 2 goals passed him. I also thought the little nudges with Bamford were unnecessary. We got a huge 3 points and cannot afford to lose players to silly suspensions. That said, he is by far our best goalkeeper and people often forget some of the big saves he has made for us this year.
  17. That second half performance was up there with the best I've seen us play. The midfield in particular was monumental. Vrancic can get some stick for not getting stuck in - but good god he put a shift in this evening.
  18. I was excited to watch him in the Prem with Newcastle - but unfortunately it hasn't really happened for him. Both Murphy's seem so confidence driven that they struggle for any sort of consistency. Hernandez is brilliant at always having the confidence to be direct and take his man on - the Murphy's lack that consistency to go past a man. He would have been a good loan signing for us in my opinion - but no means a definite first choice. I wonder if that played into account with this move.
  19. I would love to see a few 60 minute match trials, with the clock stopping when play is stopped. It would annihilate time wasting.
