1. Welcome NEC Enjoy living in lovely Norwich. Been here 20 years and absolutely love the place. If your arrival can coincide with a few more performances like today''s then so much the better...
2. No chance Too many tired legs - and Hooper injured probably. Bassong also looked as though he struggled through to the end of the game. Yobo has played very few matches so two in three days might be a bit much to expect. I do think Hoots has a bit of a conundrum though if Snodgrass is fit? Does he come back in?
3. I have spent many many hours at Rugby Park in my youth SJ. Followed them home and away for years. But it is 350 miles away! Incidentally it is my grounding in watching dross at Rugby Park that has equipped me with my philosophical approach to watching NC this year! I now live in Norwich. Have done for almost 20 years. Been going to CR almost all of that time. In fact have now lived in Norwich longer than I did in Kilmarnock. Two sons (both born in the N&N) also season ticket holders. You unfortunately are still a moron Fair play to those who travel crazy distances every week. Impressive commitment.
4. Simple doesn''t really do you justice does it Jack? Moronic Jack would be more appropriate .
5. Welcome to CR NE Canary. Like you I am a recruit to the cause - moved to norwich 18 years ago and now have a norfolk wife and three norfolk kids! Really looking forward to tonight - love a night match at any time, and I have a sneaking suspicion we might just nick this one! Enjoy the match, and let us know your thoughts on huge whole experience. I have never met a friendlier and more accepting group of fans than the NCFC lot (Waveney / Thorpe End Canary excepted) COYY
6. An entertaining read Daniel - as usual. But I don''t quite see the matches the same way as you do. I still get a lot of fun at matches, and enjoy them as much as I ever did. I wonder if we are guilty as a support of maybe being a little bit complacent. We are a recently established premier league side. We are not going to roll over all comers to Carrow road, and the quality of football played for me is probably so,e of the highest I have ever seen at CR - I have only been going to Norwich matches since making my home in the fine city some 10 years ago so admittedly I have no recollection of Norwich''s finest moments. But I do love watching good football (unlike many others I think the quality of football is better under CH than under Lambert - and it is that directness in our play that many fans miss) and I also enjoy watching my team mix it against some of the best players in the world. But then football for us all is an intensely personal experience - I take my young son and we enjoy the match together. As a kids coach as well I certainly prefer that he is watching passing football than lump it and hoof it ball. But others prefer to see the ball forward at the earliest opportunity. As for Wes, much as I love him, I just don''t see him as a regular premier league starter. Howson offers more. Wes is too inconsistent I''m afraid for me.
7. I tried to find something different for you statto but having looked I have to agree with the Nutster! Vitesse To beat NEC Nijmegen at home for me too Good luck all
8. Sorry - there is no big picture. Norwich fans want norwich to win. That is all that matters. You simply cannot see into the future to know how the season will turn out. How will those of you happy to lose tomorrow feel if it leads to CH removal (the only, thing some of you seem to care about) then we replace him with another manager, and we end up being relegated by those very 3 (or 2, or 1) points I am not a Hughton inner or outer. I think he could have no complaints if he were to be sacked following our run of results. I am equally worried about the impact of a mid-season change (it isn''t a magic wand really is it?). So I am going to trust the board, and especially McNally, to make the right call at the right time. But every point is crucial in this league. To suggest that it somehow is in Our best interests to lose a match seems to me to be madness. ...
9. Spanish segunda division for me this week Table topping deportivo to beat second bottom Girona at home. For the City bet I would go for 1-1. Seems to be our favourite result this season! Good luck all PUPS
10. No no no FTW....guesswork not allowed It has to be Fact!!
11. Cannot stand him. Unpleasant cretin. Please not here! If we do replace Hughton please please let''s do better than this.
12. If that club is in the championship then this is likely to happen. Not a chance of being recruited by a premiership club.
13.

Some people need to upgrade their footballing knowledge to match our upgraded status. A top striker doesn''t have to weigh a ton, sweat buckets, tackle hard, win every header and run about non stop like a wild man.
which is why Elmander does his job well for us... as I have said before.. Hooper scores when Elmander plays.
Absolutely agree with this, I read an interview with Zlatan Ibrahimovic who was fulsome in his praise for the role Elmander plays in the Swedish national team - essentially doing the donkey work so that he can profit.
14.
Hughton keeps doing just enough to keep his job. We keep having so called "must win" games which are disputed and then downgraded to "must not lose". So we draw against our lower PL competitors and this keeps the faith for many. It''s about aspirations. I have said consistently that Hughton will keep us up (just) but the price is a poor style. IMO he is not the man to lead us forward. He will continue to do just enough...the odd point or two away and the odd win at home is just enough because there are three worse teams than us. Sadly I fear many people will simply accept 17th place as a good finish...but shouldn''t we expect more than that?
Why on earth should we expect more than that? We are a lower half premier league club at the moment - for long periods we have been so much less and would have dreamt of that. And there isn''t very much between any of those bottom half clubs at all really is there? The style is exactly the same style as pretty much any of those lower half teams play. But I think some of our fans think we are much further down the development track than we actually currently are. These I suspect are the same ones who lambast Elmander and slag off RVW on the basis of a few injury plagued months. Probably also those who sit near me every week screaming at Snodgrass to Eff Off. If we can find a Pochettino then it might be worth upgrading manager but I am afraid if we sack him we are taking a huge risk. Hughton will keep us in this division in my view - and at this point that is plenty enough for me. I guess my bigger concern is that a rash move now followed by a poor replacement could undo very quickly the huge strides we have made over the past 5 years. I say again - we should be very careful what we wish for.
15. Kingsway Exactly the way I and pretty much all of my NCFC supporting friends see things. I think we need to be very careful what we wish for...a wrong move by the board here just to mollify the not very vocal minority could negatively affect us for years. If they do sack him the replacement needs to be better than McKay. And I don''t know who that could be
16. Why?? RVW played. Hooper on the bench Under what circumstances does Becchio qualify to play ahead of either or both of those? Find another conspiracy theory
17.
can u sit down please wrote the following post at 2014-01-04 10:24 PM: Fantastic movement, looked sharp, follows everything up like a good poacher should, good link up play and unlucky not to have scored today. People criticising him are clueless I don''t think people criticising him are clueless - Ricky unfortunately had to seek the ball far too often, especially taking him out of position to wide areas. Until Hughton actually finds him someone to play on his wavelength, (as sporting did) in a top two, and we actually have good wingers who can cross the ball to his strengths, he will not score. Josh Murphy summed it up on Radio Norfolk - the gaffer likes us to track back and stay on the defender and midfield runners - this is the ultra defensive pattern that destroys our attacking play, and which necessitates our strikers running into wide areas to receive the ball - because the winger having tracked back, is not in a far enough forward position. This has been Hughtons ethics from day one, and is the reason why our strikers past and present fail to score regularly.
Sorry City 2nd but I cannot begin to agree with that summary. The issue is the quality of the ball into the middle - we had umpteen chances from good positions (and often very well-worked positions) today to get the ball into RVW and in far too many occasions the issue was poor quality of either delivery or decision-making by the player making the cross. How anyone can call the shape or mentality defensive today is beyond me. It was good possession football with frequent opportunities to get the ball into the striker. And as for tracking back...every wide midfielder in the country is asked to track their runners when the opposition have possession. To use that quote as a stick to beat Hughton with is a touch narrowminded I think...
18.
"how many goals did he set up for rvw today?" Ehh? I''m saying that Fox is a victim of playing for a manager who doesn''t attempt to play positive attacking football with the ball on the floor - AKA a passing game. And that Van Wolfswinkel will suffer having signed for that same team. We have the wrong culture at this football club. Thanks for the stupid question.
Do you really think we don''t play the ball on the ground Le Juge? While I would agree that we aren''t always quick enough in attack, I certainly wouldn''t agree that we play play hoofball like some - we do seem to try to play possession football - in fact in my eyes we play too many passes and often don''t get the balll into the opposition box quickly enough for my liking. I am a huge Fox fan and was delighted to see him play today, but although I thought he did well I disagreed with his MoM award - for me Snodgrass was our best player today and I thought he looked a better player in the centre than out wide. Would like to see Fox come back into the frame a bit now though.
19. Been a bit rubbish at finding time to post recently so thought I''d get in quickly this time With my preferred leagues in France and Germany on winter breaks I''m off to Italy this Sunday - fiorentina to beat bottom of the table Livorno at home for me please... Good luck everyone
20. Yes I really can I think well win 5 more games and draw a few more Starting with Hull next up at CR I also think we will win at least one match that nobody expects us to... (*puts tin hat on)
21. Hi Bury Yes - Barclay season ticket holder and occasional away fan. And I stand by my view that we have been decent on several occasions. Cardiff we outplayed. WBA - fine Stoke - tactically and personnel spot on Aston Villa - I thought the performance was decent tbh Man utd & Chelsea - again good performances, I am not completely happy - Fulham was a shocker. I also went to several away no shows last season so I can see some of the complaints. My problem is with the nastiness being thrown the way of CH and his team - most of which I judge to be very shortsighted and based in little reality. In every game in this league we come up against premier league footballers who are professional in every sense of the word. To expect us to just turn up and steamroller them is in my view unrealistically arrogant For what it''s worth I think we will finish around 13th with around 40 points. I also would not necessarily be against a managerial change on the summer - but only if it reflects a clear upgrade on CH and allows us to evolve. CH may not be capable of becoming an upper premier league manager, but I do think he is the best man for the situation we face for now. Interested to hear your thoughts Bury...I enjoy your posts
22. Completely agree DM And I for one would be happy if you started more threads! Excellent OP
23. Having seen most of the others in the bottom half I feel that there are 5 teams worse than us - Sunderland Fulham ( I know they beat us but they were cr@p - we just gifted them 3 stupid points) Cardiff West Ham palace
24. No - where we are awful (Fulham) then by all means we have every right to blame the management. Saturday I thought we were very good. As I think we have been on many occasions (especially at home). - wins this season over west ham. Stoke, WBA, palace, Southampton) So I disagree with your premise. But you obviously think that we should be walking all over these teams every week. Finally, there is an arrogance inherent in the constant slating of Hughtons coaching team - he is regarded I believe as an excellent training ground coach, and the bile for calderwood seems to stems rom the fact that grant holt didn''t like him. You have absolutely no way of telling the input or impact of any member of the back room staff - but are happy to make negative judgements based on no information whatsoever. If you have better evidence to inform your views on this I apologise and look forward to hearing them
