1. Seems to me the OP is jealous at the thought of people actually enjoying themselves, that some people actually LIKE each other and like to share some time and fun together.   The association newly formed between Norwich and Celtic is not between the clubs but between the fans and the individual standings of each club in their respective leagues does not matter.   The pre-season friendly was organised just as much for the fans benefit as the teams.   It gave an opportunity for like spuirited people to join together for enjoyment.   Although Scottish football is not what it used to be I remember that Manchester United were NOT the first British Team to win the European Cup and in recognition of their history and achievements it''s a privelege to play Celtic at Parkhead.   Especially in such an atmosphere of mutual respect and cammeraderie.   Big time EPL playing lowly Scottish club?   Behave yirself!!!!!
 2.
Lambert = Forest Gump Run Forest Run...
I like it,...... I like it!!!
 3. Yup!   I''ve got that problem reading some posts due to having to use IE.   So please put a couple of [RETURN] s at the end of your posts - just for me!!!!!!    And anyone else forced to us IE and a ticket to the afterlife for you will be assured!
 4. The Scottish Edition of the Sun had a match report in it this morning.   It started by saying there were more yellow shirts than a Tour de France convention.   You have my utmost respect making that journey by Club Canary - it must''ve been murder.   I flew from Luton as it''s cheaper than driving.   I''m about an hours drive from Luton and then it''s an hours flight.   I was in Glasgow City Centre by about 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday.   An old Army mate who lives in Livingston came over to meet up with me and later of course met up with a few Norwich supporters in George Square and bussed it to the ground en-masse.   Every Glaswegian I spoke to had nothing but praise for Norwich and the Norwich supporters did the club and city proud.   It was a good run out for a lot of the squad.   I thought it amusing the way Whittacker was loudly booed everytime he got the ball - mind you if they watch the Scottish National side play they boo every time a Rangers player gets the ball even though they''re playing for Scotland!   Really glad I went and I had a marvellous time
 5. My connection with Norwich stems from my 2nd Cousins (i.e. my cousins kids) who were born, bred and buttered in Norwich and have always supported Norwich.   I also have many friends in the Norwich area whom I started going to games with and my affection, respect and admiration for the club and fans has grown ever since.   Although I remain a Liverpool supporter I am a great Norwich fan.   I have even influenced a friends 11 year old daughter who, despite living 120 miles away, has become quite fanatical about NCFC and we are taking her to the MK Dons friendly as a surprise for her first time watching them play.    Football isn''t a genetic thing though - me Dad was an Evertonian!!!!!!
 6. I think Norwich are in a far better position at the start of this season than at the start of the first PL season.   Those crying out and demanding higher quality players be brought in NOW may have to learn a little patience.   Things have to progress at a manageable level to ensure continuity, stability and performance are in line with many, many other facets.   Getting too ambitious too early can ruin things.   Clubs provided with a pot of gold can afford to lunge forward into the transfer market with a gung ho attitude.   Norwich''s achievement in managing their finances far outstrips anything the "bigger" clubs have achieved in my book.   Sure any club can fling themselves heavily into debt and buy a "Quality" player or three with higher wages than the rest of the squad.   I think Norwich are being very, very shrewd in the transfer market and are balancing things superbly to keep everything ship shape whilst maintaining momentum and improving what has thus far been achieved..   The dust of Lambert has settled, Grant Holts'' contract sorted out, some canny lads have been brought in.   This is not fantasy football it''s the real thing.   As far as I''m concerned Norwich City are well On The Ball for the coming season - which will be tough, it always is and there will be highs and lows, some good wins and some bad defeats.   No mid to bottom table club will relish visiting Carrow Road, of that I''m convinced.   Norwich will not concede as many goals as last season, Ruddy is now in control of his area and the defence more confident, the midfield has some tasty players, up front there is Holt and I''ve a gut feeling, I don''t know why, but I''ve a gut feeling Morison could surprise a few people who had lost faith.   I think one thing is for certain - Norwich are not going to concede so many penalties as at the start of last season!!!   So we''re 5 goals up before we start!!!!!!
 7. I don''t care how many are there or aren''t there.   As long as I am there is all that matters and I''m just going for the hell of it and fun!   It''s a good excuse to go to Glasgow for a couple of days and I''d rather go up to this event than any of the Olympics which will be absolute mayhem   A scouser going to Glasgow to watch Norwich - ******* Mad innit?   Life is so much more fun when you''re a bit of a nutter!!!
 8.
Having been brought up not too far away from Parkhead, I can advise that the area around the ground is, shall we say, a little run down. If you want to experience a real, traditional Glasgow drinking den then fair enough, but..... From memory a First Group service 43, 61 or 62 from the centre of Glasgow is probably the easiest way to get to the ground, as there are no rail stations particularly close by, although it''s less than 2 miles from the city centre to the ground. As for pubs, there are plenty good ones in the middle of Glasgow around or close by to George Square. I wouldn''t normally go to a friendly, but this is too good a chance to miss (only a 60 mile journey from Perth). Me and the young lad will be in the Weatherspoons pub on George Square (Counting House - another ex bank) from about 4.15 onwards - shouldn''t be too hard to spot in our norwich tops. Hope everyone enjoys the trip.
One of my ex-wives lives in Callander!   (I''ve had a lot of wives - but only two were mine!!!) I lived in Stirling for some years.   Beautiful part of the country but we can''t live on scenery so the affluent south beckoned.   I''ve just booked everything - flying from Luton (cheaper than driving) and staying near the City Centre (Travelodge) so I''ll make a point of looking in at Weatherspoons!
 9. I just don''t see the ******** reason for this ******** thread and anyone who thinks different is just being a ****
 10.
If I were the Rangers fans ,I would make the SFA regret their decision to do this. They should turn up at these little Scottish towns of Brechin,Annan,East Stirling etc etc in vast numbers ,take over these towns and make it a policing nightmare, outstretching the costs that these 3rd div clubs can afford. I would make it my mission for them to admit that this was the worst decision they ever made.........be careful what you wish for.
Need to substitute Falkirk for East Stirling.   East Stirlingshire to givie it it''s full name originally played at Firs Park, Bainsford, Falkirk but since 2007 have shared Ochilview with Stenhousemuir.   Their main claim to fame is they were once managed by Sir Alex Ferguson (1974).   Pedantic I know but I''m just showing off ''cos I once lived there!!!   It''s a fair point you make though, gates in the lower league suddenly increasing ten fold would put a great strain on clubs more used to a gate of 250 and a bobby on a bike
 11. Ahhhhhh!   The plot thickens!   What a fiendish thing for someone to do.   Still, small things amuse small minds etc
 12.   Well from a distance it looks the right shirt!   His wiki entry does state he currently plays for St Ettiene (sp?) but goes on to say his long awaited transfer to Norwich took place 08/07/12 (Sunday).    Perhaps an announcement tomorrow but it has come out of the blue............ interesting
 13.

The bitterness in this thread in unreal.
The bitterness in this thread is unreal. (Is there an edit button on here?)
Bitter?   I''m not bitter - I''ve no cause to be bitter.    I''m an independent observer from the land of football speaking words of wisdom with panache and style!   But since bitter is mentioned I''ll have a four pint jug and no glasses please!
 14. How amusing it is when Villa fans include their club alongside and in the same breath as the real top clubs in the land.   Like the puch drunk ex-boxer sitting slumped in a corner of an alley on skid-row muttering "I coulda been a contender!"   I view things perhaps a bit different to some.   Instead of seeing Norwich as a stepping stone for Lambert - I see Lambert as a stepping stone for Norwich.   Because look how it''s ended - Norwich have been placed in a far better position for the coming season than if Lambert had stayed.   Norwich have progressed onto a better and more experienced level of management to carry them onwards in the premier league.   The transfer budget (whatever it is but believed to be around 20-25 million) has hardly been touched and some new and exciting players have been signed - with some very clever work being done.   Holt''s request has been resolved.   Villa''s problems are the same as they had last season.   New manager trying to save a shite club!!!   Norwich''s problems are all high-class problems by comparison.   Like will Yellows Restaurant have a new menu for next season!   Two of the worst jobs in football at the moment are the manager positions at Liverpool............ and Aston Villa - and only an idiot would take on either which is why both clubs had to go down a level in their recruitment gambling on inexperienced managers from a lower level.   Both Rodgers and Lambert are novices.   More experienced and better managers wouldn''t touch those jobs with bargepoles.   So there''s Villa - slumped in the corner of that alley muttering "We coulda had Hughton!"
 15. Being a scouser I possess a very limited vocabulary and only know three football songs and in accordance with my origins my solution is to nick one!   That was originally nicked from the Irish   All ''round the fields of Carrow Road We stand and we watch the Yellows play (and they can play!) Pilky flyin'' down the wing We''ve got dreams and songs to sing Of the glory ''round the fields of Carrow Road All ‘round the fields of Carrow road I heard a canary call-ing Lambert you pissed off from us one day But hughton is the man To do the best he can And bring glory round the fields of Carrow road All ‘round the fields of Carrow Road We stand and we watch the Yellows play (and they can play!) Pilky flyin’ down the wing We have dreams and songs to sing Of the glory ''round the fields of Carrow Road
 16.
To say I am under whelmed is under statement of the year. He is no Kyle Naughton!
And Kyle Naughton is no Ashley Cole.    And Ashley Cole is no.....................   If Norwich want to spend 5-7 million they can get a Naughton.   But taking advantage of the opportunity to get Whittaker on a free is pretty good thinking.    Shows Norwich management aren''t slacking, lounging about, settling in or bogged down in contracts, they are acting pretty sharp!   Never mind what Rangers fans think, he has a good CV.    Give the lad a chance and keep an open mind.   Norwich once bought a player from Shrewsbury who many said wasn''t much good outside league 1 and would struggle in the Championship etc.   So pre-conceived opinions can be totally proved wrong in the fullness of time.     Rangers paid 2 million for him and Norwich have got him for nowt - nothing ventured, nothing gained and if it doesn''t work out sell him on at a profit.   I can''t find anything negative about this deal.
 17.

My mum used to say patience is a virtue and always pays off, maybe he wasnt taught the same thing lol! I''d Sooner he''d have been patient and not said anything especially on twitter, in my opinion he didn''t think it through properly. Such a shame.
.....and "everything comes to he who waits " was another standard when i was a lad.
Ah but, a stitch in time saves nine!   Which is Grant Holt''s squad number!................ An Omen I tell you - AN OMEN!!   I think everyone is now resigned to the fact he did put in a determined and serious transfer request and will accept whatever the outcome is without high degrees of emotive reaction (they were all worn out in the wake of the initial shock).
 18.
Who''s face would you rather have!? Ribery or Rooney? I''d go Ribery!
Put it this way, when I look in the mirror I''m glad it''s not his face lookin'' back at me!!!   If you think he''s ugly you shoulda seen him when he was a baby.   Apparently he was so ugly his mother fed him with a catapult!!!
 19. According to their computer records you died three times last year!

 24. His body may be on holiday but I doubt very much that his mind is!   Probably itching to get back and stuck into the job but has to consider domestic things like giving his family their holiday.   "You lot go and ride on the donkeys - I''ll stay here and watch some DVD''s of Norwich".   I wouldn''t hold your breath regarding transfers in - that could well have been a major bone of contention that motivated PL to depart when, and in the manner he did.   Having said that, the position has changed and with hughton being the new boy and in the honeymoon period funds may be made available - particularly with the Holt situation popping up unexpectedly.   Someone commented that Paul Lambert achieved financial stability for the club - No he didn''t - that was achieved by a whole team of people headed by the Chairman and CEO greatly assisted by the on-field results achieved by the players under Paul Lambert and the coaching staff.   Paul Lambert is not God and neither is he an accountant!     So we all await Chris''s return from holiday and hearing his views and seeing his approach to next season - with excitement I might add
