  1. The biggest issue that us fans hate and want changed are the same everywhere - rich club dominance . However, if City had a Saudi billionaire owner who was prepared to throw tens or hundreds of millions to buy players from all over the world would fans really say no to that?
  2. Given the injuries and squad depth being out of the play-off positions only on goal difference after ten games is probably better than most would have expected. Aside from the lack of quality on the bench the biggest negatives for me are the odd substitutions that Wagner makes at times and the consistent defensive mistakes. It is the current trend to play out from the back but it is a disaster waiting to happen with Duffy and Gibson yet they persist with it, baffling.
  3. City haven't lost to Coventry for 14 years, away draw for me.
  4. There is a difference between not trying and not being good enough, I'm not sure many (if any) are in the first camp but maybe half a dozen simply aren't up to the standard required.
  5. With the current squad, reaching the play-offs would represent a very good season.
  6. I'd be a bit miffed if I was Idah, he didn't play that badly on Saturday and offers more than Hwang so with Sargent and Barnes out he probably would have thought he'd be starting most games.
  7. Better but still unconvincing, brilliant stop by Gunn at 0-0 and then City quickly scored twice and the game was effectively over.
  8. A good performance and three points is needed to restore some confidence and keep the crowd happy, Birmingham haven't beaten City at CR for 20 years so the omens are good.
  9. I'm not sure he's the right fit for City but you'd think someone would take a punt if he was willing to accept a much lower salary than he's been used to, hopefully he has managed to keep hold of some of the money he's earned in his career but I do know that he had a gambling problem like so many players.
  10. If you look at the stats, the average age of the usual Ipswich starting XI is 27.9 whereas City's is 28.0 or at worst 28.1. The average age of the overall squads is actually the other way with Ipswich's older (26.6) compared to City's 26.4. The point I'm trying to make is that despite the two teams/squads having virtually the same average age Ipswich's has performed better so far which in a way destroys the 'Dad's Army' comment, the question has to be asked - is it the quality of the squad that is the problem or the manager and his coaching ability because on the face of it, City's squad looks miles better in terms of quality and experience than Ipswich's?
  11. I know you can always play around with stats but the average starting age of Ipswich teams so far this season is near enough the same as City's, is it the quality of the players rather than their ages or the way they're coached?
  12. Leicester were a step up in class and with the squad they've got should win the league easily, City played better than Saturday but simply don't have the players to change a game once behind. Losing Barnes is a major blow so it's now or never for Idah, Hwang looked a little lost when he came on but still early days.
  13. The problem is, until the trial is completely over and sentence passed the public don't get to know the full story so can only judge things on what's allowed to be reported in the media. Clearly the injuries following the crash were severe and I think that is why he got a jail term.
  14. Duffy, Stacey and to a lesser extent Barnes have made a huge difference this season, add in Rowe's progress and it's not hard to see why City have started so well. Duffy always looks calm and composed with the ball, I just wish some of it would rub off onto Gibson.
  15. City were lucky to come away with all three points, play like that on Wednesday and Leicester will tear them apart, Stoke dominated for large parts of the game and woeful finishing cost them dearly. McLean was MOM for me as Sara and Rowe both struggled against an organised opposition. Sargent was a big miss, lets hope either Idah or Hwang between them can fill the void until he comes back.
  16. He's had over a year to think about what he's done and the impact it's had on those that he injured let alone the effect it could have on his football career.
  17. Maguire had the chance to join West Ham over the summer but wanted to go to a 'bigger club', the guy's deluded if he thinks a top PL or European club will come in for him now so needs a reality check or risk his career petering out.
  18. Idah has to start and be given a run of games, with Sargent out until the New Year this is the ideal opportunity for him to stake a claim for a starting place.
  19. Just one of some very odd results, Leicester lose at home to Hull who were awful against City, Southampton get thrashed by Sunderland and Leeds fail to score against Sheff Wed who had lost all of their previous games.
  20. In just over twelve months time the country will turn red, I hope the majority of voters will be be bright enough to realise that they won't see any real change to their lives for many years.
  21. 30+ shots and the keeper had a brilliant night, given the injuries and lack of players I don't Farke will be that bothered.
  22. I was amazed how many Ipswich fans there are in Norwich, must have been 50 of them on the train down at lunchtime.
  23. Leeds are my first love with Norwich close behind and Ipswich is only 40 minutes away on the train, it was also easy to get a ticket which will be rare this year.
  24. I was at the game, Leeds had more shots on target and you were overrun time and again. Everyone around me and on the train home said this was the expected reality check after three wins on the bounce. If it was so close why did a large portion of the crowd leave well before the end?
  25. They were well beaten today, Leeds gifted them two with awful defending and the keeper made some good saves in the second half so it could easily have been much worse.
