  1. Something I was mulling over recently, every promotion we've enjoyed you could 'feel ' as the season progressed. I guess it's to do with momentum, we either get promoted or nowhere near challenging. This season again, has an air of inevitability about it, that's not to say it's definitely going to happen but as each game approaches we look stronger and more confident.
  2. Lambert talks a good game, the idea that his Team will try harder, run faster or be more of an attacking threat poses two questions, why haven't they been doing it all season? and what has changed in the last week that makes him think that he can suddenly switch on a performance to beat the top Team away from home?
  3. I felt at the time that it was intended, the Ref ducked out of it by saying that he didn't see it, allowing the football authorities to play their 'no further action ' card. The whole thing stinks, Oli is right to challenge the authorities on this, I hope it's dealt with by the law of the land, rather than the snowflakes running football.
  4. Couple of points, there's no way Farke will underestimate them, we probably won't destroy them, our game management has come on a bundle since Brum and we're unlikely to risk injuries pushing for more goals when the game is won.
  5. Not sure I agree, if you go back to other promotion campaigns, there were always leaders in the squad. In 72,Big Dunc, In 86 Watson and Bruce, 2004 Malky and Fleming, they knew how to do the ugly stuff. You look at our Team today, a lot of young players or foreign players who have little experience at this level. I remember playing Reading in our promotion season under Lambert, Karacan (I think) cut Fox in half, late, high and nowhere near the ball. Holt and co. were straight in there to protect him. Come the end of the season, no one will remember, gamesmanship, time wasting and the other 'dark arts' that could earn us the 1 or 2 points we need to get over the line.
  6. As the slogan says 'if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand '
  7. Seeing how we are learning to 'manage ' games once we're comfortably ahead, I'd be surprised if we run up a cricket score. As difficult as it is to accept, given the opposition, the fact is that we've got bigger hurdles to clear than 1p5wich. 2-0 up, possibly 3 and Farke will shut up shop.
  8. Over the last six matches we've played Leeds, Sheffield Utd, West Brom and Derby, we've just taken over top spot. Leeds lost to Stoke and struggled to beat Rotherham, so let's re-evaluate that form table.
  9. I've been saying this, the stats show, however you read them that we're far away the better side. It doesn't mean that we're going to win or that we should take anything for granted. That said, there's no chance that the Club will be doing that, merely an opportunity to gain another 3 points in our quest for promotion. All the talk, the banter and the nerves are the preserve of us fans. It's clear that we'll be on the front foot, what is less obvious, is how 1p5wich will approach the game.
  10. I'm inclined to agree with this, which is why Leeds fans should be so concerned, their form has fallen off a cliff recently, unlike us their games included a defeat to Stoke and a scuffed win against Rotherham. Boro is almost a must win or the chasing pack will have caught up.
  11. Congratulations Super Mario, recognition well deserved. 👑
  12. Some think that if they're relegated, they'll just promote the U-23 Team that's been so successful this year and bounce straight back.... Sorry, not going to happen.
  13. All we need from this game is 3 points, after we've won, let the party begin.
  14. I think this is what upsets them the most, the fact that we were once rivals and they had the upper hand. Today, while the rivalry still exists, we have bigger goals to aim for, besides, it's so long since they've been a threat that we find ourselves more concerned with the record than actually winning the game.
  15. Careful Mello, you'll offend someone.
  16. You're right about that, it could be a kickathon, let's face it we've got weapons all over the pitch, how else are they going to stop us?
  17. There will be a 'story ' everyday this week, I'm sure that they'll wheel out Chambers at some point to rally the crowd. It's all a bit meh, a sad attempt to stir the pot, create a siege mentality and some atmosphere that's been sadly lacking this season
  18. That man is a genius, translate that to we're not scoring enough and we're letting too many in. You could level that at every Club that loses a game.
  19. Not getting over excited, mainly because I'm still basking in the glow of last weekend. As far as Sunday goes I'm struggling to see how 1p5wich can come up with any gameplan to get a result. We're fitter, better organized, we think quicker and as individual players how many would get in to our Team? I watched their clip vs Wednesday and they were woeful. Yes we could go down to 10 men ala Hanley, that aside I can't see a logical reason to fear the result. As has been said, we've got other priorities to aim for this season, 1p5wich are just a bump in the road.
