1. Agreed, it would be good if he scored one or two.   However, the way the team is set up, it is goals from all over the pitch we need.   It has been good that Pilks and Snoddy have started to chip in, as well as Turner, Whittaker and Bassong.    The way we need to play - with only one striker - the onus is on everyone to chip in.     Wes - at his best - is a creator - let him carry on creating - as long as others are scoring.
 2. There is nothing more annoying than people moving around without good reason, blocking the view for others, having to stand up for people who''s only reason to move is to get out before the end.  I get cross with people who cause the whole row in front of me to stand up to let someone out - especially if it is to get food/drink or to leave early.   Its not the food or leaving early that is annoying - it is the inconvenience you are causing other paying fans.
 3. Computers are only as good as the people that use them.   If you put information into them without checking  properly then mistakes are made - and it happens too much in this wonderful computerised world.   Put cr*p into a computer and cr*p will come out.      As for pompous grammar  - and spelling - police,  I can understand why people correct things.   Its because they get fed up with seeing badly written c**p.    The one I hate the most is  "Would of"  -  what does that mean?      "Would of" is meaningless.  "Would''ve" - short for "would have" is what should be used.   Just saying [:)]
 4. It is clear Morison isn''t the most popular player. Does he do himself any favours?  I don''t know.   Does anyone know what was said on his t-shirt after he scored - he obviously was showing something to the crowd??
 5.
Really should have stuck to 4231 with Snoddy in Hoolahan position.
It would have been interesting to see that formation.   Keep the same formation as for league games.  But I wonder if there''s a bigger game going on here.   We have to play Villa in the league at CR later in the season.    Play a similar formation to the league and give your opponents practice for when they come here later in the season may not be a good strategy.     As it is, we know that when Villa come calling again we will  be a different proposition.   These cup games are a lottery - by all accounts we could have won if we had taken our chances - that we didn''t is a shame, but there is more than half a season to go and the disappointment will soon go - especially if we win on Saturday.
 6.
If we''d played a 4-4-4-1, I''d have a serious look at the referee that allowed that many players on the pitch :PJoking aside, the league will always be more important than the cup. Cups would be nice, but I''d rather take the "play the squad players and hope they''re good enough" option. If we''re enough points clear of the bottom 3, or virtually safe from relegation when the next round of the FA Cup is played (provided we beat P''Boro), I''d like us to have a good crack at it. But if it''s going to jeopardise our survival in the league, I''d put out the squad players again.
Ok, I know, 4411, my bad, but the point remains - if you secure prem status early enough - say 40 points by the fourth round of the fa cup - then there is more reason to go for that cup.    Its hard for us supporters to take a loss, but there is a bigger picture, like it or not - and the squad players do earn a lot of money - they need to be given the chance to contribute and get game time.
 7. If you are going to win a cup these days you are going to do it with squad players.  You are not going to risk overusing key players.   So if your squad is good enough you will win - if it is not you won''t.   So - Choice 1 - play your squad players and hope they are good enoughChoice 2  -   play your strongest 11 and hope they are good enough - and don''t get injured. We played a weakened 11 yesterday in a 442 - and were not good enough.   If we had played our strongest team in a 4441 and won  we would be celebrating - but would we win on Saturday against Wigan.    We have to think that the priorities these days dictate that the League is the most important thing to focus on.  if you progress in the cup, all well and good. Imo the FA cup is much more interesting because - if we continue to do well in the league and secure premership status early enough, then the risks that can be taken by fielding a stronger 11 in the fa cup games are much more worth it.   Get through the third round and secure enough premiership points and then go for the fa cup with a stronger approach.    Capital Cup?  Too early in the season to take risks - that is why top teams don''t push it too hard - and we are a top team, currently in the top 12 clubs in the country.      We should recognise that and move on.
 8.
I am surprised we got three players in. When I opened it up I immediately thought of Snoddy but didn''t think the defence had much chance after conceeding three. Still for some reason garth loves us this season, or is it Hughton he loves? Maybe Garth has a man crush on him.   Davo
Whittaker''s goal was worthy of any team of the week.    There could have been four players really, because Holt had a stormer too, scoring and crossing for the Bassong goal.
 9.
how the hell did you get hold of my picture!!!!
[:S]
 10.
I''d ask superfan Lake District Canary if I was you.
Thanks for the suggestion,  Mungo, but I thought it was you who were the super fan - that''s what you''re always telling us, anyway.
 11.
Hi GP....  [:D]
Nooooooo.........GP would never write "would of" - would he??
 12. Although I badly want us to win this match, there are other considerations.    We have to look after the fitness of players - and if there are any slight doubts or knocks that need time to heal - then we should leave them out tomorrow - even if they could play despite their knocks.  The league is still the most important thing. I would like to see the second string start the match and have a strong bench.  They have to be involved this season - and should be good enough to win the match.   After all, the second string is pretty much the first team from last season.Would be happy to see:                BunnMartin  Bennett Barnett  Tierney Bennett Fox Howson  Surman         Jackson  MorisonBench:  Holt, Snodgrass, Pilkington, Hoolahan (if fit) Johnson.Give the other key players a rest and trust the guys to do the job.
 13.
Interesting. I felt that miss of an open goal which would have sealed the game against manyoo was mainly down to having little ability and even less bottle. Mungo
Typically uncompassionate and ill informed view of  a player who had only just come on the pitch and who needed game time to find his confidence and form.   Similar to  Kane''s chance - no doubt he''s been written off too by the numpties who pretend to support the club but who actually show every sign of doing the opposite.    By the way - open goal means a chance with no one in the goal - and if I remember rightly - don''t MU have a goalkeeper???
 14.
Interesting to see that LDC thinks that who ever disagrees with his view is therefore small minded and bigoted. As i say he really is the worst of the worst plastic''s
No, its just people who try to set fan against fan that I find small minded and bigoted.
 15. Become a super member and watch out for  the announcements on the Norwich City website about when tickets for super members will be available.  Supermembership is worth getting (£20) as it means you have priority over the general public.    Watch out on here for Mungo though, he doesn''t like it when people come to a match from more than two miles away.......................
 16. I''ve thought of leaving the board a few times, but each time, I think - why should I let some ignorant troll railroad me off the board?     For me this is the place where I can find out about and communicate and discuss things to do with my club.    If someone is spoiling the board for their own agenda (you know who you are)  then it is up to the rest of us to put the other side.    Trolls will be trolls - and I am afraid there is a bit of troll in all of us - so it is in the nature of the board that you will find all types of people.  As for year zero - well it won''t be long before year zero starts developing in to the same scenario as it is now - at best its a fresh start but it wouldn''t be long before the same characteristics appear.  I like to think that people who have left the board still look in and maybe will return - or have returned under a different name.    To that end I would like to see an end to people changing their name - why do people do it?   Change for the sake of change does no one any favours.   Have the balls to stick to your guns.   Coming back under a different name is a cop out too, imo.    Continuity is what makes a board like this work.   The familiarity of the same posters who have been here for yonks with newer perhaps younger posters joining the mix are what make the board tick.     Trolls come and go and reappear under a different guise - f**k them - they are just an irritation, nothing else - like an itch that you need to scratch occasionally - annoying - but harmless.
 17.
I''ll have to pack up and put away the Relegation Mini-League.  And what a sad day that will be for all concerned.
[:D]
 18. Beware! This is a non-thread!    Do not discuss!   There are no weak links!  Everyone that has come in has contributed well and apart from the odd individual mistake  -  weak links?    Can''t see any...................... [:)]
 19. I think it would be fair to say is that   the formation used by Hughton suits Hoolahan because it gives him more freedom.   I don''t think Hoolahan is the best thing since sliced bread like some people seem to, but I do think given his achilles heel of trying to do too much on the ball sometimes, the further forward he is the better, as giving the ball away up front is probably less damaging than giving it away in central midfield.  However, if that sounds a bit harsh, I still think he has been effective in the more forward role  - even though he doen''t score enough goals.   The whole point of our squad is that we have players all over it that can score so if Hoolahan can bring these players in to the play more, it gives them the opportunity to score.      So actually, having said all that and given our results recently, I do agree his influence is greater this season - credit to him - and Hughton - for that.
 20.
and look what happens, we play like we did when Lambert was here!!   i know it was forced... bring back Ginger Pele, would much rather win 4-3 every week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, I think you will find we play Hughton''s way these days.....................you just haven''t caught up with it yet [:^)]
 21.
Fantastic! An afternoon in the company of a chavalanche of excitable like in highly flammable nylon clothing who have never been to a football match before.
Or......... Fantastic! An afternoon in the company of fellow Norwich City fans in green and yellow out to enjoy following the club they support. ......................unlike poor mungo who would rather find something to complain about.
 22.
Bumped especially for LDC.
[:(].................................on second thoughts  [:)] [:)] [:)].....can''t be sad after a result like today.
 23. But where''s the relegation mini-league??  I want the relegation mini-league!!  [:''(] [:''(] [:''(]
