That reminds me, when did Stephen Fry last attend a board meeting?
Funny, sure I saw him in the stands away to Millwall a couple of seasons ago...
I sat behind him in the away end at Fulham this year too.
Obstructed view ticket then ?
 2. Agree with these two posts. Nothing is certain even with only three games to go, far from it in fact. Any two of the top four could win an automatic slot and any two of the top four could find themselves in the play-offs and that of course includes Bournemouth.
 3. Sorry, I should have posted the following on this thread not the other one : What is with some posters on this message board and the constant derogatory reference to plastics. I live just under 300 miles away from Norwich and because of that and a combination of other reasons I can''t make it to many games either home or away for that matter. I assume this makes me a so-called plastic. When I do go I make as much noise as the next fan, plastic or otherwise, and probably more because it''s rare that I get the chance to support my team. It must be great to live in Norfolk and go to Carrow Road on a regular basis, including to see Under 21 games, and go to away matches on a coach in the company of other committed City fans. So, please, just give it a rest with the ''plastic'' jibes.
 4.
Atmosphere at Elland Road was amazing. We are going up, we are going up! Can''t wait for the Boro game, hopefully we''ll raise the roof. Games under the lights always better for atmosphere. With it being on Sky it should mean no plastics will have bothered to get a ticket. Real fans only = wall of noise! 5.

Well, I thought Wolves would do ''Boro but it seems they''ve imploded and probably won''t make the play-offs which is good to see. But the pressure is right on Watford. They need to win by three clear goals to overtake us. Our second goal tonight and their failure to punish Millwall has given us some daylight. But, if Watford fail to beat Forest the whole thing suddenly opens up and the pressure is right off us (which itself would be another challenge). I''m going to enjoy listening in tomorrow night.
How is the pressure right off us, if watford lose tomorrow we are practically in a play off final given our superior goal difference to Watford on Friday. It will not have been on more all season. I fear this game a lot given that they tonked us at their place and given the fact that everytime we have had the chance to hit the top at home (Under pressure) we have underperformed and failed to win. Such as Wigan!!
It''s understandable to be apprehensive about this crucial match, I am too, but we are a very different proposition now compared to November last year. This is the team that played on 4/11 :- Ruddy, Whittaker, Martin, Turner, Olsson, O’Neil, Tettey (Hooper 45), Redmond, Howson, Lafferty (Murphy 57), Jerome (Grabban 78). Subs (not used): Rudd, Cuellar, Johnson, Miquel. Our back four is now much more solid with Bassong in place of Turner. In the away match, Johnson was an unused sub! but back from a two day ban he will be bursting to make an impact on Friday evening. Laffertyof course has gone as has Murphy and there is little doubt that Neil will have the team set up, organised and motivated much better than was the case on that November night in Middlesborough back in November. In addition, Hooper is now showing an appetite for the game which seemed absent under Adams and if Grabban is fit to play some part on Friday that will be the icing on the cake.
 6. Well, I''m not so sure that Bournemouth winning the title is so certain. I agree that with their semi final on Saturday, Reading should be easy meat for Bournemouth tomorrow night and Sheff Weds at home too should be a wave through. However, their last two games will be nervy affairs and I wouldn''t be at all surprised if they drop points at home to Bolton and/or away at Charlton in their last match. We have two tough fixtures, away at Leeds and then at home against Middlesborough, but IF we win those and then the away match at Rotherham I expect that we will be playing for the title at home against Fulham on 2nd May. This of course assumes that Watford will drop points tomorrow night or Houghton''s Brighton doing us a favour at the Amex on 25/4.
 7. BJ''s Left Foot said : Bradley Johnson''s left foot"]Don''t understand the negativity to this potential signing from a select few. With Grabban out and Becchio deemed surplus to requirements another option is needed for a promotion push. Admittedly I haven''t seen an awful lot of him but like someone mentioned earlier he''s been on the books at Arsenal for a long time and appears to be highly rated so can''t see this as anything else but a positive. I''d also much rather us have him than one of our rivals taking him on loan. Forest seem to be one of the other teams strongly linked with him. ______________________________________________ Forest aren''t a threat to us and Akpom joining them would be the next best thing to him coming to Norwich as Forest still have to play : Wolves, Brentford Watford and Ipswich
 8. Even if Loza''s and Morris''s sensibilities are upset (which I doubt would be the case) by the introduction of a 19 year old striker from Arsenal, the challenge right now is to secure promotion so if our manager deems it to be a good move then I fully support him. Failing that, the pacey O J Koroma is still plying his trade in England !
 9.
Oh you can blame him for last nights mess. The Johnson "goal" last night should have stood he clearly and his assistant did not see a handball and had given the goal. He allowed the players to take matters into their own hands by bullying the assistant who then suddenly remembered a handball she had not flagged for . And they wonder why players try to bully officials. As a ref myself I always say I can only give what I see and not use players acting etc to make decisions. After that reversal all the players knew the officials were really not in control which changes the game completely. Suspect in particular our defence was worried over soft penalty award . Where do the FA get these officials from, I have officiated many matches never made such a basic error, should ship both of them down to conference! I bet Ruddy is regretting not getting in th refs face after he was clearly held just before the Derby goal. Any wonder players surround refs after last night such pathetic weak officials who get paid good money need to be rejected plenty better ones in lower leagues believe me!
10.
(Hooper) He just needs to find some form as he has the quality. (remember when people were slating Grabban, suddenly he''s now the answer.) It''s up to AN if he''s willing to give him that time as he''s someone who needs games, however, time is not on our side at the moment.
Easy for you to say ...... but are the people who were slating Grabban the same people who are now saying he is the answer ? I certainly didn''t slate him and IMO there is no doubt that we sorely miss him. On a different level, I also think it was unwise to loan out Lafferty. And whilst I''m at it, why isn''t Vadis being used, why didn''t he come on last night instead of Andreu ?
 11. I guess the first name on the Huddersfield team sheet will be Jacob Butterfield.
 12. I would like to add my congratulations and best wishes too.
 13.
Don''t think Turner has the attributes to play in the kind of system Neil wants to introduce, neither does Cuellar for that matter.Neil wants his teams to play a high-pressing game with the full-backs pushing very high in possession. This necessitates the use of a high defensive line and requires relatively mobile centre-halves who are able to cover the space that their full-backs vacate, whilst the defensive midfielder covers the centre.Turner is a very good defender, but mobility is clearly not one of his strengths and I think he would look very out of place in a high defensive line that also puts emphasis on his ability to cover wide. Cuellar is much the same, although I think he is a poorer player overall than Turner.Martin and Bassong, who are both relatively mobile and capable of covering wide, are the better fits for the system. Not too sure about Ryan Bennett. I expect new centre-backs that are better suited to Neil''s system will be brought in next season, regardless of what division Norwich are in.
Good, thoughtful, analytical, objective post.... mind you, I only think so because I agree with every point.
 14. Indy''s post was : "How about we wait for actual facts to be released before getting the pitchforks out and demanding a burning? For all we know he could have gone to a nightclub, pulled and been totally unaware that the girl in question was underage thanks to a combination of make-up and beer goggles. If we also consider that ANYONE inside a club is meant to be at least 18, then you should be able to have a degree of confidence that anyone who agrees to consensual sex is also NOT underage to begin with! It''s getting to a point now where the whole idea of a ''one night stand'' may as well be described as ''opportunity to get a criminal sentence because someone was too drunk, lied about their age or were otherwise unacceptable to be legally accesible for consensual sex''.... I''m glad I''m married with kids and well out of the whole scene to be honest, because it appears to be nothing but a minefield these days, especially for people who in essence have done NOTHING wrong, but still get punished over it! Obviously, if this is NOT the case and he was fully aware of what he was doing, then I hope they throw the book at him and he spends the next 5-10 years playing for the local prison side..." I think the above post very reasonably summed up the situation for me and I am surprised that the discussion has continued for another nine pages. Johnson is clearly not a paedophile and, until and unless he is ultimately judged guilty beyond all reasonable doubt of having sex with an under age person (whether 1 day or 350 days under age) I can find it in me to believe that there could have been mitigating circumstances such as those already mentioned. We don''t have ID cards in this country and the civil liberties brigade are passionately against them being introduced. Therefore, if the nightclub concerned didn''t know that the plaintiff was under age, for sex and therefore also for alcohol, why would Johnson ? We don''t know of course, but he may well have asked her age, been told she was, say, 18,19 or older and seen no reason to disbelieve her. As for cheating, we don''t know the nature of his relationship with his longtime partner and it isn''t for us to judge anyway.
 15. Alou Diarra signed by Charlton from West Ham in time for him to play tomorrow evening against Derby. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31588932
 16. Fair play to the FA although ''not proven'' is not quite right IMO. Forgetting my allegiance to Norwich and my high opinion of Jerome : one person''s word against another, no corroborating witnesses, inconclusive opinion from ''forensic lip readers'' (what else was expected ?) so verdict IMO should have been ''not guilty''. It doesn''t matter that Jerome''s reaction at the time lent credence to his claim and I feel sure that he did believe that he had been racially insulted. We increasingly live in a world where causes obsessionnelles apparently dictate that the normal prima facie evidence requirements are discarded if the accusation (however genuinely felt or believed) levelled at an individual is high up on society''s current outrage scale.
 17.

As for Nutty''s comment he is absolutely right, it''s the East Enders attraction, but I''m sure that''s not what nutty really wants for this Board. As for Morty, you are a past master at twisting threads, but you know that you abuse this board in a way that you yourself would not permit on the other one, which stinks.
It shouldn''t be about what I want for the board or what anyone else wants for the board. Having the board the way individuals want it is censorship. If this is what Morty and Lakey want to post then it''s fine by me. At least it''s a discussion between two genuine Norwich supporters. And it is only one thread. Albeit the most popular one of the day...
"Discussion"? I am sorry, nutty, but I don''t see much discussion, at least not between those "two genuine Norwich supporters". All I can see is another bout of infantile bear-baiting (which was also popular in its day, though reprehensible), along an all too predictable path.LDC posts one of his so-what but utterly harmless contributions and morty, with that familiar sly cunning (which really is nowhere near as clever as he thinks it is), sees an opportunity to have a little more fun - not to mention getting rid of all that nasty tension built up having to play nice elsewhere - by butting in when there is no need. The first two snide posts don''t do the trick, but morty has been at this a long time and knows not to give up. LDC, being harmless but not very bright, or perhaps just human, cracks when the third goading post appears, and responds. Oh joy! Morty seizes on the chance he pretty much knew would arise not just to go on ridiculing his hapless victim but to pretend he is doing some kind of public service - such laudable selflessness - by articulating an imaginary anti-LDC pink ''un consensus. What price Normal For Norfolk as a myth?
The problem, PC, is that you succumb to the same temptation as other posters on here .... that of insulting other posters within the context of what purports to be a constructive and reasonable post. Read your post again. It isn''t very nice and frankly sinks to the same level as other unpleasant posts on this thread.
 18.
How much was Wolfs winkle? Benteke was cheaper at the time. Go figure.
Shyster, my recollection was that Benteke had been identified as a target by Aston Villa scouts when McLeish was manager but joined Villa after McLeish had left and Lambert had moved in. That''s not to detract from the fact that Lambert was clearly a great manager for us. I have great memories of his time with us but his departure left a very sour taste in my mouth and I would not want him back. Lambert is the past, Neil is the present and the future.
 19.
Phew! - I thought we''d sold Olsson to Swansea. Pleased with Dorrans more steel and guile in midfield
Need to keep BJ though.
 20. Plays for Scotland so no doubt he is in touch with his Scottish team mate Whittaker about the prospect of joining Norwich ! ... "so Steven, what are the Norwich fans like ?"
 21. Excellent, thanks Nutty. I thought the ball did cross the line for a goal. Great save by Rudd 2.45 in.
 22. OP is spot on with this observation : "We are going into the remaining 19 games blind. We still don''t know what Alex Neil is capable of" With a nod to the debate on another thread : AN''s appointment was not a calculated risk, instead it was indeed a complete punt ; not even a cunning stunt, just a McHunch that the appointment could pay off. With promotion being the clear objective this season, AN''s appointment was breathtakingly astonishing. Not a question of being wise after the event as most fans thought the same thing at the time. That having been said, of course we all want him to succeed ..... but if he doesn''t then whoever was responsible for his appointment, and I assume it was McNally, should go.
 23.
Paul Lambert is the best manager in our history..
Ha ha ha
 24. A typically baffling statement from Howton after the win against Ipswich : "I am most delighted with the three points. I know Mick McCarthy well and his assistant Terry Connor but the most important thing was the three points." The sentences just tumble out and in no particular sequence.
 25.
I think it''s a massive shame. He was one of the reasons I was at ease with us employing the young and hungry Alex Neil. Phelan has overseen an upturn in our form and it''s obvious he was influential in that. It''s a shame he feels he can''t continue with this. I wonder if he pitches up at WBA now.
I don''t think anything substantial changed after Phelan joined. The players didn''t perform for him or Adams against Reading and Preston. In fact, those two performances were abysmal.
