I have thought that many of the players have looked disinterested for some time, and recently my friend bumped into one of the first team at a social event. He asked how training was going and the player, who I won't name for obvious reasons, bemoaned the fact that he had never been so bored playing football. For a young man who had finally achieved a boyhood dream in gaining a contract to play professional football this seemed a staggering statement, and incredibly worrying for the future of the club if a widely held view amongst the players. Hopefully any new manager will be able to re-instill the players' enthusiasm that we have seen in the past.

Louis Walsh certainly rates him, but I'm not so sure.

I would normally never wish an injury on a sportsman, and am no great lover of Man Utd., but following Ronaldo engineering the release from his remaining contract I would find it difficult to suppress a chuckle were he to suffer a career-ending injury at the World Cup.

Rashica never really looked comfortable in the side, so perhaps he just wasn't the right fit for us, or us for him. Our 'big' signings never seem to work, and last year's intake seemed a particularly poor return on investment. Having said that, Sargeant does seem to be coming on in the Champs WHEN we play him in the correct position. Let's hope it gives him the confidence to kick on and maybe be a half decent PL player.
