'The £500 team photograph'.... any takers?
WilliamG replied to Canaries Utd's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I thought this was a bit on the steep side... £100 maybe i would have considered it, but that is really too much -
Clarence road is now £5 for football traffic

One name Dion... some guy called Pavel Nedved left the former eastern block countries when he was 24, to move to a big club. Now if Dave-the-strker is half as good as him we''ve got a tremendous player
-
It looks like he''s here to stay for a while. He''s a long lad, could be perfect partner for JC. Striv-Ka i think its pronounced? 15+ goals from him this season would be a nice start. OTBC
No its pronounced dave the striker!such a great coined name, and one that needs to become part of the carrow road mass vocabulary in the way that ''wly'' ''robbo'' or ''Disco Dale'' have in the past

Which will be the first big takeover to fail?
WilliamG replied to mbncfc's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Man City has all the makings of a tremendous balls-up waiting to happen. -
i still fancy Darren Moore (Derby) to partner Shackell.

Squad numbers no5 not allocated
WilliamG replied to The Priest's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Look at the defenders Derby have brought... we couldn''t go after Darren Moore could we??? whilst not up to Premiership level, this guy is one hell of a player in the championship (like hux, needs a middle league) -
Do we need an attacking, non winger, midfielder?
WilliamG replied to breaker2's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
What about playing hucks in a ''free-ish'' role sat behind the strikers, in a similiar place to where Paul Mcveigh was played at one time -
David Střihavka
WilliamG replied to Billy I was never Signing for Norwich Sharp's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Highly curious this is not meantioned elsewhere on the internet, including the banik ostravia (sp?) website -
What we think about this one? Instead of Marshall??At least we''ve signed someone....(story on club website)

sorry has earnie left??/stop being so pessimistic familiar with the concept of a self-fuffiling prophercy? this board is rapidly driving him out of the club

Scarborough Football Club RIP
WilliamG replied to InLambertWeTrust!'s topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Dont you hate how Scarborough ahve gone out of buisness yet the s**m at leeds are still allowed to trade, despite leaving creditors 35m out of pocket -
Spare a thought for the enviroment you can''t fly to southampton thats terrible.
Yet another person convinced by Mr. Blairs ramblings. Sorry to break it to you, but global warming is totally natural, and is just showing the onset of an ice age. After all it has been 12,000 years, which as far as our scientists can tell is the 2nd longest period without one in nearly 2million years. We don''t affect global warming, as many scientists are now saying. They just get shouted down by the ''oh it must exist cause its getting hotter'' camp. Their argument is fundamentally flawed, and only listened to cause people of lower intelectual capacity are being exploited with tat from Spin labour.

31 yr old Cureton in and Earnshaw out ?
WilliamG replied to Bogbrush's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
A perfect example of strong artistic license on this board. No bid has been made for Earnshaw. It is possible he isn''t going (shock horror) but if you guys keep talking like this maybe that could make his mind up, if the fans think he is as good as gone?Get a grip, and get positive. We have new investment, Quality championship players around the pitch, and a manager commited and passionate about his job -
Haven''t posted on here recently, for the exact same reasons. I''m hoping that once the season gets here and/or some concrete transfer activity (Oostenboor has been known about for a little while really) that some of the dross presently posted will die, leading to good, opionated chat about what happens the green side of the white line, not the boardroom side

He let slip on canary call and said ''my last game'' before immediatly correcting himself. But seems to me the guys off. Thanks for what you have done this season Dion, and all the best for you and the family

Warner - 7 - Get your checkbook out Mr Doncaster... payment to ''Mr. M. Al-Fayed C/O Prince Phillip''Hughes - 8 - Well done Andy. Good on yaShackell - 6 - Yeh was ok.... few questionable balls but a solid bet for Next SeasonDublin - 7 - ''Theres no room for boys out there, only men'' - and personfied the quote. Contract??Drury - 7 1/2 - Up and down all afternoon with a fair bit of endevour. Could do with working on a final ball into the box rather than a knock left to Huckerby, but thats a long term GripeCroft - 6 - Good first 20 minutes. Carrying InjuryEtuhu - 8 - Pity he was subbed at 1/2 time though. Spillane - 5/6 - Sorry Mickey, but full of enthusiasim and endevour but let the occasion get the better of him As long as he learns from it, not a problem thoguhFotheringham - 5 - I normally like this guy. But his freekick in the 88th minute makes it a bad mark. few other poor balls in the gameEarnie - 5/6- Rusty. Needs games. Didn''t look at his best by a long shotHux - 8 - I''m bored of Superlatives for Hux. So i''m not going to botherMartin - 5/6 - Im sure he would have been better in a role-reversal with HuckerbyColin - 5/6 - Fair enough not wanting to upset the defence but wouldn''t it have been easier to bring Eagle on and shuffle about a bit???? esp with being a local lad

what happened to the Board protests?
WilliamG replied to Bob M's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Sadly, the leaders got a lot of homework to do at the minute.Wait till July:P -
Heaven forbid, he made one mistake.Sorry, perspective time guys. If this was made by Shackell for example, we would put it down to bad luckHughes has improved recently, credit the guy for putting himself above the narrow-minded morons who boo him.
-
I would imagine he didn''t come on, as the easiest atmosphere to bed a player in is when you''re 2/3-0 up, and it doesn''t matter what they do. At 2-3/0 down, there is pressure on the guy, which isn''t something we should be doing on a debut to an academy player.Kudos to Grant though for three academy products on the bench, and a further two on the pitch The sign of things to come?
-
How much are the players ACTUALLY on?
WilliamG replied to Bovril's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Most of the players are on contracts with agreed rises / drops depending on the division. As in the short - medium term (say 5 years) it is unlikely (and definietly far from certain) that we will turn into a mid-table prem side, this makes sound financial sense -
Fotheringham does little things well.He always seems to be in the right place to break something up and provide an outlet for an under pressure player, before passing it 10 yards. Its not rocket science, but you notice when it isn''t being done. He also will drop off into other peoples place if they go foward (E.G. drury)

DUFFY THE DIFFERENCE ?
WilliamG replied to Colourful Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Yes i think the same.Hence posting a thread on it a couple of weeks back. -
who else saw this when Martin was subbed?
WilliamG replied to Syteanric's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Well we allowed Steve Bruce and Eric Black to have two front row seats last week (i know cause i saw Brucie before the game) -
Norwich would have to recieve compensation for Martin if such a move was to happen. It is likely that because of the potential it could be argued he has got, the club could lobby for far greater compensation (into millions) than the 500k we might get on selling them. So its really a wise move.
