1. That''s a fair point. I''d get you more if you really can''t think of any yourself, but quite frankly i''m not that bothered. Just throwing an opinion out there.Off the top of my head and within the twenty seconds i took over this post - Dennis Irwin? Mark Bowen?Absolutely he could have done. If he''s not playing well - which i''d say he isn''t - give the guy more of a hand on the pitch. I''m not having a go at him Morty - he had a tough summer according to the reports, and players go through drops in form. That''s football.
2. And yet countless other players have managed to be good defenders with wingers in front of them not ''tracking back''. Drury, for example.I''m a huge fan of Olsson, but have to agree he''s been poor this season. He''s too good a player to get away with the ''winger not helping'' argument. I still wouldn''t drop him though, but then i don''t rate Garrido. And that''s not to say i agree that we''re weaker on the left either.
3. Obviously that should be ''bite''.
4. I''ll bit the bullet and say it then - in, for me.
5.
Grabban is the worst finisher i''ve ever seen in a Norwich shirt.
Then you must have been watching Norwich for about 2 weeks. What a stupid comment.
6. It''s silly to want him back at Norwich. But i''ve never really understood some of the bitterness towards Lambert. He''s the best manager we''ve had at the club during my lifetime, and performed an absolute miracle turning us around as he did. Some City fans seem to have forgotten just quite how bad we were before he came in. So he moved on to a bigger club. Get over it. He undoubtedly deserved his chance at Villa. Shame he''s blown it though, as i wish him luck for the rest of his career after what he did at City, but that''s football.
7. Crikey. At this rate he''ll maybe even be as good as Kris Boyd one day...
8. Unfortunately, he is under a bit of pressure, yes.But only because some of our fans are morons who refuse to learn from experience and who seem to think that we have a divine right to win the league. They''re probably the same idiots who bought the ''On Loan to Division One'' shirts, back in ''95. And no doubt they think Cellini is a decent owner. It''s early days, we have a good squad, but Adams is still learning the job. Do you people actually expect City1st''s 100 points and 100 goals?! We''re three points off top, yet you''re suggesting sacking the manager. Deary me.
9. Massively overrated. I know we were garbage last year, but 4 goals from open play last season was, quite frankly, pathetic.Grabban back up front by himself, with someone just behind him (preferably Wes, but obviously not for the meantime). It was all going well when we used that formation, and it got the best out of our players.
10. Incidentally, i agree Russ shouldn''t be started in the centre. He''s our best right-back, and we have two centre-backs on the bench. Personally i think it''s fair to say Hoiveld did very little wrong - certainly we''ve not looked any better at the back since he''s been dropped.
11. It''s a completely incorrect stat. Just off the top of my head, we beat Blackburn at home this season 3-1, with Russ starting at CB.There''s plenty more, if you fancy Googling for all of a couple of minutes. Don''t believe everything you read on the Internet.
12. He played in just about every position on the pitch, didn''t he? Not quite Paul Warhurst, admittedly, but impressive enough. He was utterly useless everywhere except right back, however. But couldn''t fault his work rate. I actually started liking him by the end of his spell at City, but that might be more of a comment on just how bad the rest of the squad were back then.
13. Couldn''t give the slightest iota of a damn.About as meaningful as a friendly.
14. I''m amazed how many of you would make wholesale changes. Seems a bizarre idea when we''ve started the season so well, at least in my opinion.Still - and excuse the cliche - it''s a game of opinions.
15. Agree entirely with your assessment of Redmond on Saturday, GP. He clearly had the beating of the fullback, but rarely even attempted to beat him and get the ball in. The kid clearly has talent, but his ''football brain'' worries me.That said, do you drop the guy after his first assist in ages? If so, does it not send the wrong message? For that reason, i''d keep him in the starting 11, but we all have our opinions.I like Lafferty - think he adds a different element to the side - but agree that he needs to directly contribute more in terms of goals and assists. He''d be the winger to replace, if, indeed, i was going to replace either. Though for now i think i''d keep it as it is.Norwich vs Norwich B in the playoff final would be well worth the entrance fee ;-)
16. Probably discussed somewhere else, but sod it....So we''ve got the kid from Scotland, Miquel, VOO, and Hoiveld all recently signed, and Howson, Hooper, and Olsson all back from injury soon.Assuming they''re all available after the international break, who do you automatically put into the starting 11?We''ve started well, so obviously making wholesale changes is idiotic. With that in mind, the only automatic starter of the 7 is Olsson, for me. Bring him in at left back, drop Garrido to the bench. Hooper is good, but moving or dropping Grabban is out of the question when he''s scored 5 in 5, or whatever it is now.Howson is okay, but not deserving of an automatic starting place above consistently good performances from Tettey and Johnno. Same for VOO and McGrandles - Those three have a role but need to wait for their chance whilst the current side are doing well.Of the centre-backs, i''d be tempted to move Russ out to the right and bring in Hoiveld - as the more experienced of the two - but think that might be a tad harsh on Whittaker. Although i think it''d strengthen the team, he''s not really done anything wrong to warrant being dropped. It''s a conundrum, but lovely to see the squad have such quality in depth!
17. In terms of the result, it''s a point against a good side, when we had lots of players unavailable. We''ve suffered far worse over the last couple of seasons. Utterly unforgettable game. Bizarrely, neither fans nor players seemed quite up for it. Two decent, well organised sides, both lacking a bit of quality on the day.Our fouling was almost embarrassing, however.
18. I was always under the impression that Shackell was sold to finance the Sibierski loan. That had to go down as one of the worst transfer deadline days.Great bit of business...Good luck to Shacks though, always rated him at City. His debut, away at Derby if i remember correctly, was brilliant. Shame it went a bit downhill for him when we made him captain.
19. He only got a short run out against Blackburn but i thought he looked excellent then, too.I''d like to see him start in place of Redmond. Lafferty has narrowly been the better of our wingers so far, for me.It''s brilliant to see some talented youth coming through the ranks! Hopefully he doesn''t go the way of Ian Henderson...
20. Justice. Though it''s shocking to see just how far Scottish football has fallen in recent years. It''s no coincidence that the Scottish game has gone hugely downhill since Neil Doncaster started being given senior positions up there. Not that i''m putting all the blame on him.
21. Howson.I''ve been watching him for years and still can''t work out just what it is that he''s supposed to bring to the team.
22. I love these types of threads. Everyone is a critic, but yet i never hear nor see anyone else standing up at the ground and actually giving a new chant a try. Here''s an idea: stand up and sing your own ideas for a new chant. If it works, great. It doesn''t catch on, you''re onto a dud.If you have no ideas for chants, then shut up. You have no right to criticise.
23. He''s probably brilliant on Football Manager, or FIFA, or something.
24. Fair play to them, the policing was excellent yesterday. Far less heavy handed than usual, and i think generally the fans were better behaved as a result. Lots of yelling and squaring up, but didn''t see a single punch thrown.Credit to them for actually allowing us in the pubs before the game, too. Made a nice change - though could''ve done with a pint afterwards. Maybe next time, eh?
25. You genuinely think that Tettey can pass, but Johnson can''t? Deary me.
