  1. Labour are red, the Tories are blue, proportional representation is the best way for you!
  2. Not seen much mention of Fassnacht on here. I thought he was excellent yesterday, some really classy touches to bring others into play and great decision making. P.S. Anyone got a link to a video of the Rowe chant?
  3. mine dropped out but is working now. Missed both goals though.
  4. What's telling for me is that I've not seen one Aussie come out in the media and hold their hands up and say, "Sorry we shouldn't have done that." From this you know what their mentality is.
  5. For those interested, an excellent article about ownership with several points which are particularly pertinent to Norwich fans. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2023/jul/01/football-clubs-communities-fans-owners?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other
  6. Big Bins the scummer always catches a worm or two.
  7. Luton all the way (my grandad played for them in the 50s).
  8. It's also like being a heroin addict whose job requires them to be surrounded by adverts for heroin in every place they look. Betting is a blight on the game and I hope betting advertising is banned as soon as possible.
  9. I'm kind of conflicted about these comments. He is the Sporting director of the Men's team, not the CEO of Norwich City Football Club. In that role, it is great that he spends all his time watching Men's football and only cares about that. However, he failed to frame his opinion in that sphere of reference and, for that reason, he made a mistake. In my opinion he is deliberately trying to engineer an exit from his role here.
  10. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2023/may/09/football-fans-booing-national-anthem-liverpool-anfield-premier-league-coronation
  11. This makes me simultaneously sad, worried and hopeful. As someone better than me said, "It's a funny old game."
  12. Intersting talk on this subject on the Guardian football weekly podcast: https://www.theguardian.com/football/audio/2023/may/04/premier-league-manchester-city-haaland-watford-liverpool-football-weekly-extra-podcast Chat starts about 44 minutes in.
  13. Delving into the micro more than the macro (albeit the two are linked) could @Parma Ham's gone mouldy enlighten me as to why Gibbs hasn't played more this season? He seems to have something about him; is there some kind of technical or tactical fault in his play that I am missing?
  14. Too many similarities for my liking. But maybe you're right. They (He) display the ability to use the Internet as a resource extremely well without being able to back it up with any real world knowledge, empathy or the intellect to analyse what they (he) have posted. The forum is a much better place without that type of character. Interestingly I saw a Bill TV link on the wrath of the Barclay last week.
  15. Don't worry, Bill will be back with another alias.
  16. I think you're kind of echoing the point I was trying to make. Obviously finances are a factor but there is also a question about how far (either consciously or subconsciously) the management/ownership wanted to stay in the Premier league. The Premier league is a copycat league (comparable to the NFL) and the mimicry can be tactical, on pitch or strategic off pitch. I think we failed on both counts. (this is not to say that there is no room for your own innovation or that even if we were able to mimic the best aspects of other clubs, our lack of finances would have rendered such actions immaterial.) I should also add that as an exile I much prefer the championship due to kick off times and the accessibility that ifollow affords me!
  17. Maybe how and why other provincial clubs of a similar size (Southampton, Brighton, Brentford) have been able to achieve relative success and why we haven't been able to mimic/emulate the best aspects of these clubs. I can't help but think your psychological analysis of the players on Ricardo's Sunderland thread also extends to the owners/management of the club.
