Well, let's be honest, you were well known for your unnecessarily condescending, confrontational, mocking tone under your one of your previous guises which created argument after argument before you were finally banned, and you intentionally used it here in your response to me. And leaving this thread is probably a good idea. After all, you were also well known under your old account for a staggering lack of understanding of transfers and contracts.

I mentioned on another thread the other day that it's difficult to envisage a situation in which he stays. If we don't go up, it's unlikely we'd be prepared to offer the salary which he'd likely command. If we do go up, I don't think he's quite good enough, and I'd rather take a punt on someone else. Either way, McCallum is in exactly the same boat, he's no worse than Giannoulis, and would likely be prepared to accept a lower wage. So for me, Giannoulis leaves and McCallum is a maybe.

Is this another attempt to organise one of those protests where even the would-be protesters don't know what they're protesting about? -
I really can't say I'm bothered in the slightest by that, personally. Not sure if that's because I've grown up watching lots of football so have always been used to watching games all across the weekend, or whether having had a season ticket in Italy just made me used to random kick off times at short notice. But it never bothered me then either.

Yeah, we'd have to spend a lot of money all over the pitch, and so there wouldn't be much for a new starting left back. But I'd rather take a gamble on someone relatively cheap and unproven who might be good enough rather than give a contract to someone who we're almost certain isn't up to it. However, we're getting a little too far ahead of ourselves even discussing this.

Sebastien Bassong. His Norwich career was killed around Easter, but later resurrected thanks to the second coming of the Messiah. -

Whilst I do love a stat, even xA isn't always that useful. Sainz laid two tap-ins for Sargent on a plate yesterday, but in both cases, Sargent didn't read the delivery and therefore didn't get on the end of them. Sainz should've got an xA of about 0.5 for each of those, maybe more for one of them, but I'm guessing that not only do they count as zero for xA, they also go down as unsuccessful crosses.

The defence did look a lot more sloppy today than it has recently, I agree. I wouldn't be too alarmed though and hopefully it was just a blip, because it has improved quite a bit since the autumn. Even though Sorensen has done OK since his introduction, I'd feel more comfortable with Duffy in there ahead of him over the next two games. It would sacrifice quality on the ball, but we're likely to be tested more defensively by higher quality teams so probably need the defensive security and leadership that Duffy would provide.

I think that's a bit harsh on Sargent. His first touch isn't his best quality, but he's so much more direct and clinical than he used to be, and he's really thriving now that he's out of Pukki's shadow. He has come on leaps and bounds this season and both our record with him in the team and his own numbers show how important he is to us. Despite his goal, I don't think his overall performance today was as good as they have been recently though. He just didn't seem quite as sharp as usual and probably should've had a couple of tap ins from crosses which Sainz laid on a plate.
