  1. No and please stop posting such detritus now. Thanks.
  2. In an ideal world, footballers shouldn''t need motivating, they should turn up ready for action week in week out regardless of external factors. Sadly we don''t live in an ideal world and footballers are just like the rest of us, they are human. That means they are affected by lack of confidence and sometimes perhaps a decreased motivation. Other things affect how they play - such things as their happiness, the way they''re treated by the management team, how much support they feel they have from both the gaffer and the fans. So, as frustrating as it is, players probably do need motivating sometimes, it''s just a fact of life. The key is getting the right man/men in to do the job - as our wonderful board now find themselves trying to do.
  3. On his day a competent Championship midfielder. Trouble is his day is all too rare to be considered a first-choice, let alone the first-team captain. I for one wouldn''t be too disappointed to see him move on.
  4. These stats are totally irrelevant, they are taken from different clubs in different leagues in different situations - pointless trying to compare them!
  5. I''ve always liked Southgate''s managerial style, he''s honest and open about things and always admits when he''s perhaps not done as well as he should have. Seems like a top bloke.
  6. He''d be my top choice as well, sadly with the money and the success they''re having at Peterborough, I cant see him moving here any time soon. Plus it would no doubt be an expensive and drawn-out process - both of which are things we need to avoid given the situation we find ourselves in. Shame though.
  7. I''m undecided on Curo to be honest. He has got a great finish on him, but all too often he misses the target when you''d expect him to score. Yes he scored yesterday and I''m chuffed for him, but let''s not forget that it was a defensive mix-up that allowed him in. That''s not to detract from what was a very good finish, it''s just that I''m not sure how many other chances he will get like that. He obviously cares about the club and in times like these, maybe that is of greater importance than we realise. Btw quick word for Darel Russell, who I thought did excellent yesterday.
  8. I''d definitely try and find a place for Gunny in the new set-up, let him gain experience and allow him to complete his coaching badges. Then in the future, we could have someone ready to be promoted from within for the management role. This gives us the best of both worlds - someone with real experience and contacts who can rescue this dire season and then someone who loves the club and is popular with the fans.
  9. I''d be chuffed if he ended up getting the job I really would! Especially if he brings Malky back with him!
  10. For goodness sake, reign yourself in man, we''ll do well to avoid relegation. I''m as chuffed as the next person about today, but it''s just one result - against a poor Barnsley side to boot. Let''s not get carried away as we always do.
  11. Couldn''t agree more, we need a new direction, Ince would not provide that.
  12. Couldn''t agree more, Hoolahan is going to be crucial to our survival. Give him the freedom to play, free him from the shackles that Roeder had so obviously enforced on him and the boy will deliver. A great day.
  13. Egg on the face, massive slice of humble pie....all that and more coming my way and deservedly so.....I was wrong, I guess my expectations have been damaged after watching poor result after poor result. Apologies Gunny if you happen to read this, you were spot on. Well done.
  14. Absolutely fantastic effort, just what was needed....what''s the betting that Gunn is involved in the new coaching set up somehow? I bet his odds are shortening as we speak!
  15. Would much preferred to have seen Pattison in there instead of Fotheringham. Patty and Clingan formed a useful looking partnership at one stage. Glad to see Hoolahan in there, but Rusty up front?? I''d put Rusty back into midfield and either go with 5 across the middle or put Hoolahan ''in the hole''. Dear oh dear - hope Rusty makes me eat my words, but in all honesty the bloke is not a good enough striker for this division (he is afterall a midfielder by trade!).
  16. Goodness knows, with the team Gunn''s just turned out, we have to hope that he gets nowhere near the permanent gig!
  17. I definitely think Doc can do a job up front....the trouble is we need him at the back at the moment. He has been our most consistent defender so far this season. I''d rather solve the problem by getting in a decent striker and keeping Doc in centre defence though!
  18. With a bit more firepower we''d be in mid-table this season. Recently the defence has made some sloppy mistakes - these need to be cut out if we''re to pick up enough points to get us clear of this blasted relegation business. I think we need to play Hoolahan more, because he can ''unlock the door'' and his creativity in that final third is going to be vital. I have confidence that, given a fair run in the team, Jamie lad will pull through for us with some goals. We can do it people!!!
  19. I don''t think Rioch coming in with say, someone like Crook or Fleming as his assistant, would necessarily be the end of the world. He would steady the ship and at the same time could pass his knowledge and experience on to Crook/Flem. This could provide us with a ready-made replacement if and when Rioch''s tenure/deal ends. Plus. these are all people that "understand" Norfolk and Norwich and know what the club means to the fans. I''m not saying he would be my first choice, but I wouldn''t be too despondent if it came true.
  20. Ah Mick Dennis. A more biased, one-sided sycophant you will struggle to find. I have to agree with him though, Glenn Roeder was so accomodating to other member''s of staff and in particular their families. He always considered how his decisions would impact on other people and their loved-ones. The most striking example of this must surely have been when he culled almost his entire backroom team overnight. He sacked our long-serving kit man Terry Postle, Mrs Postle must have been delighted with that. He sacked our chief scout Alan Wood, I bet Mrs Wood was over the moon upon receiving the news. He sacked Peter Shaw, his family must have been ecstatic at that. Finally he got rid of Rod Dyer, I''m sure Mrs Dyer was delighted. In yet another act of integrity, Mr Roeder publicly belittled and then sacked Neil Adams for the heinous crime of daring to voice an opinion that differed from his own. Did Roeder consider the impact on Neil''s family? Roeder deliberately denied Darren Huckerby (a living legend for Norwich supporters) the chance to say a proper goodbye. Did he consider how this would make Huckerby and the fans feel? Oh wait a minute, Glenn Roeder has an entire back catalogue of hurtful actions- its called karma Mick, you live by the sword, you die by the sword. It''s very difficult to have any sympathy for Roeder. The man was arrogant to the core and has probably permanently damaged our great club with his grudges and favourtism. It''s wholeheartedly wrong to state that fans were putting anyone in that director''s box in danger. It was a protest, aimed only at trying to let the board know how some fans were thinking. It''s not against the law to have an opinion that differs from your great friends Delia and Michael. They did the right thing for the long-term future of the club. For once.
  21. Worthington basically said that he doesnt think managers are being given enough time nowadays to prove themselves. Also said that once you lose the fans its very hard to claw it back. Curo was saying that he wasnt aware of any real fall-outs between Glenn and the players - but to honest i think he was being very deliberately reserved with his comments - not wanting to jeopardise any return to the club he loves.
  22. Yep, having trouble accessing the messageboards atm.
