  1. Unsworth is available? Has he already left Wigan, the club he joined last Friday (05-01-07) from Sheff Utd?   [*-)]
  2. £200k, i think, presents good value for a relatively experienced young player. Grant knows him from their time together at West Ham, and i think having seen his (Chadwick''s) energetic performance at Portman Road prior to assaulting the scummers advertising boards he will be a popular player for this club. Its about time we had a midfield player who could be popular. Its great to see no matter who plays for this club, how hard they try, how some are able to give more than others there will be supporters who hate certain players, want them shot at dawn for daring to wear our prided shirts when they are not fit to breathe, walk or talk.  We wanted signings in the January transfer window, people have said judge the board or judge Grant by the transfer actvities during January, and so the first thing we see for our latest recruit on this message board is "Chadwick is NOT the answer to City''s prayers......"
  3. Henrik Mortenson (spelling?) was yet another quality striker to have graced the hallowed turf of Carrow Road....
  4. In my last season of local footy, i had to purchase a pair of boots. Silver and white they were. Was i a flash player? Did i want to stand out from the rest? Not at all. The boots were cheap, in a sale. I needed size 11 boots (yes, "wear the boxes" some would shout). People should try going in any sports shop to buy black boots these days. Just cant get them anywhere. So not everyone should be judged on their boots. Judge them on their abilities and efforts. Anyway, at the time, i was 33. 14stone, played centrehalf. Not very good. Nothing flash. normally 2 touches one the man, second the ball. Am in between clubs at the moment. A free agent i guess. Am available to travel with the squad for Saturday if PG can only resort to Fleming or Donkerty.....[:D]
  5. People here are quick to blame the board for lack of money or lack of ambition, but didnt Norwich make a near £2m offer for some bloke who went off to Wigan Reserves? Perhaps the board didnt feel the £1m for Howard was "Worth" paying, bearing in mind all the other judgements made by our then manager? Perhaps Worthy wasnt worthy of another £1m? A player is only worth what A) the selling club sees fit to do business for, and B) What the buying club is prepared to pay. Okay, so we have missed out on Howard with 8 or 9 goals to his name this season, but (a blessing in disguise) we still have that £1m in our bank which hopefully PG will be allowed to spend as he sees fit.
  6. "we are handing out some horns and tambourines to help..... [8]" - Big Wow! The Salvation Army do this every December outside Tesco or Jarrolds, but who takes part? Not me! I''d rather finish the Xmas shopping...
  7. Grant in my opinion would say when taking the job that his squad are good. He has to wait until January before he could make permanent signings, and so to say from day one that he has inherited a bunch of incompetent players wouldnt exactly get results for him from them between end of October through til January. He can probably only send out the team in a certain formation as he only has limited players to do this, from what he inherited. I am giving him my 100% support. He will, in turn, over a lengthy period of time prove and determine to me whether my support continues through players that he will sign or sell, and results that follow....
  8. As a supporter unable to attend games on saturday''s i shall now be trying to get tickets for tomorrows game. Looks like no-one else is  going now, and there should be plenty of pies to be eaten now, dirty job but someone has to do it...   btw - Is it just me or does anyone else think that PG''s comments have been made to try to get a positive response from the supporters?! He has my 100% backing (yes, even though i cant/dont get to the saturday games)
  9. SNOW.   I think she said "Expect a flurry of Snow in January". Because it is cheaper than purchasing players. And more predictable. Snow is expected to melt away and vanish once the heat increases....
  10. Reading opinions on the message board, everyone is banging on about how certain players are failing to produce week after week, how the club should "get rid of them" and how everyone is pinning hopes on major signings during the January transfer window, but realistically (and financially), are we really going to ship out 3 or 4 underachievers and replace them with quality signings? Which clubs would take these "underachievers"? I am fully supportive of PG, and feel that only time will tell which way he takes the club, and yes, he has inherited a poor squad, but i cant see major changes happening in the limited time of January. I hope to be wrong though...
  11. In my humble opinion (which has been absent from these messageboards for a few weeks now) i would keep the Doc on the bench, with Dion in defence. And if Grant wants to change things around late on in games to put a bigger target man up front, why not keep Dion in defence and throw the Doc up front? Doc could pretend he plays centrehalf for the opposition and try to score an "own goal" in our favour (for a change)... I personally have never been over impressed with the Doc, although he puts in a mighty fine performance strolling around Grove Road Tesco Express sporting his Republic of Ireland Tracksuit, where he has been seen on several occasions rugby-tackling and wrestling loaves of bread, pints of milk, and numerous pies into his basket from the sturdy stacked shelves. It was even rumoured once that he performed an awsome chest-trap with half volley on a cauliflower.....
  12. How''s about Ron Jeremy (porn star)   Walks in to Delia''s office, says "go on then bird, give it to me. you know you want me."   Interesting, he, like Worthy, managed to F*** Up anything given long enough...
  13. So, if the bookies are to be believed, Perhaps Peter Grant is the man for the job. Maybe we will get him "on the cheap" for us giving the Hammers Ashton and Green "on the cheap...."
  14. The fight between Safri and Etuhu started over who loved and supported Worthy the most. Said Safri "you do!" replied Etuhu "No chance. You do!" The fight was broken up by Delia, heard to say "No-one does anymore"......
  15. Worthy should stay, cos Delia loves him. And he is doing all he can to get us out of the Championship. (if relegation counts)   Worthy in. Worthy in...
  16. Yeah well done to Deano for his call up.. But, more importantly, wont Norwich receive some cash as part of his transfer deal to West Ham for international appearances??
  17. Ok, so this really hurts to say it - but lets give Worthy a chance. Ouch. We all know last season was a disaster, but having retained the majority of the squad, and having added a much needed right winger who seems to had made a great impression, and having added a decent, respected coach so far things have gone well. We can all remember the disappointing season after the play-off defeat, but we followed that awful year with promotion as champions. Hopefully after last year''s disappointment maybe we can achieve promotion.  Ok, so Worthy hasnt inspired us with some of his comments or tactical decisions, and yes, some of his signings havent been as well received as they should have been, but lets give him time to prove us all wrong. Let''s unite for the sake of the club and see how the season pans out.   OTBC!
