1. "if nigel bombs, then he must do the decent thing and resign".  But this is the problem - the man has bombed, but he hasn''t resigned. Nor will he.  He''s too arrogant.  He''s not going to go until he''s pushed - under his contract, he''s guaranteed 12 months'' pay. The whole thing is a bl**dy shambles. Do we really think that Foley''s replacement will be able to do the business with Worthless hovering over him? I don''t, I''m afraid. Worthless trades the players (in/out); Worthless picks the team; Worthless determines the tactics (ha-ha!!)   I rest my case.  Worthless must follow Foley, now ...!!  If he feels it''s been that great working with Foley, he should clear off and team up with him somewhere else.  I understand that Colchester could be loooking for someone soon....
2. I''d like to poach Worthless..... over hot flames.... [6]
3. A classic case of the generals sending the foot soldiers over the top as cannon fodder.  How about leading by example, Worthless? Are there no mirrors in your house? [:@]
4. They clearly do intend to stick with Worthless, despite all that happened.  Just look at these words from Donkeycastoff in today''s EDP: And supporters can rest assured that, with Nigel, we will be sitting down to assess where we can make improvements, on and off the pitch, to try to improve on this season''s ninth-place finish. But with your backing, your vocal support, your fierce determination to put aside this season''s differences and get fully and squarely behind Nigel and the team next season, we give ourselves the best possible chance of succeeding. IMO, the NCFC Chief Executive would not mention Worthless so explicitly at this point in the season if they were intent on getting shot of him.  Both sentences would be complete in themselves without mentioning Worthless at all - so his name was mentioned quite deliberately. In one fell swoop, Doncaster has just managed to bu**er up my entire summer. Thanks, pal.  [:@]
5. You mean like Adrian Boothroyd, CJ? or better still, The Dream Team of [*] Ian Crook and Mark Bowen [*] ?
6. Agree entirely, your Lordship.  That''s why this ''give him 10 games next season'' nonsense just won''t work.  As you so rightly point out, the best pickings will have long since gone.  The Board simply has to act well before the next season begins.  Worthless has had his chance.  He needs to move on, and so (more importantly) does Norwich.  We needn''t feel sorry for Worthless - he''ll pick up a job somewhere soon, at the right level for his capability.
7. If more money was needed, it should have been given to Worthless last season when 2 relegation parachute payments still lay ahead of us. Now there''s only one left, and I fear that ''prudence'' will mean a further tightening of the purse strings. IMO, a new manager would have far more leverage with the Club about what money would be available next season (because the Club would have to commit to a reasonable amount, simply to attract him in the first place) - whereas Worthless will be a pushover, because his job''s on the line (well over the line, IMO) so he certainly won''t rock the boat. Perhaps the only saving grace is that Worthless hasn''t had access to every spare penny going - given his overall track record on loans and transfers in.   Now - where''s my anti-depressants?  [:(]
8. Charlie mentions Zesh Rehman in today''s interview, and that got me thinking. I believe that the amount shelled out just on the loans of Zesh and Jonatan Johansson - given how little they were then used - was absolutely disgraceful. Zesh played 5 times and JJ2 played 12.  Let''s assume (because I don''t have the full stats) that, on average, Zesh played for 80 minutes a game (I cannot remember him being subbed, so it could have been the full 90 mins each time, but go with it...) and that JJ2 played, on average, for 45 minutes a game - probably an overstatement but, again, go with it. Let''s also assume that, as Premiership players, they were paid either £5000/week each; or £8000/week each. Ignoring agents'' fees etc. this means that, over 17 weeks (Jan-end April) the club will have paid out £170,000 (assuming £5,000/week each) or £272,000 (assuming £8,000/week each). Putting it another way, that''s somewhere between £180 and £290 a MINUTE that they were on the pitch!! If that isn''t an appalling waste of the Club''s funds, I don''t know what is..... [:@]
9. Essential in a Championship side and (maybe) an occasional sub if promoted, but I''m not persuaded he''s first-choice Premiership material on what we saw last season. This only because we need goals and he seems to choke or mis-hit too often.  Can never question his commitment/effort however, although the Andy HOOOOOOOOSE debate confirms, I fear, that effort can only deliver so much.
10. Come on - play fair!! Hopefully, he''s gone to recharge his batteries before firing You Know Who immediately after the Wolves game... If he does that for us, his holiday will have been well worth it... [;)] Then, we shall need someone to find us a new manager, PDQ - AND, we will then want that new manager to be moving fast to clear out the stables and bring in some new talent.  As the CEO''s hands hold the purse strings, Doncaster will really need to be around all through the summer period. So - let him enjoy his hols now that the season is effectively over, so he can be around when he''ll really be needed.  Looks like great planning to me!! [:)]
11. CJF said: I said it a few months ago - when will Carrow Road break, well after QPR''s second goal I think it happened. Funnily enough, I was discussing this very point on the way to the match on Monday.  The average Norfolkman will take more rubbish when it''s dished out than most but, when he snaps, everyone and his uncle knows about it.  The 2nd QPR goal came about 3 minutes after the loudest chorus of Worthy Out we''ve heard during a Carrer Rud game all season. It was resonating all around the Jarrold stand, so was certainly not confined to the Barclay/Snakepit end. When the 2nd QPR goal went in (and it was deserved, following a neat build-up) I think the home fans just snapped. The only way to release their HUGE frustration which had built up was to cheer/applaud/laugh - and rightly so. And, surpise, surprise - what do we get? 1. Hoooooooooose subbed (although, like so many others, I deplored the non-stop jeering/booing and ''clapping'' him off.  Go for Worthless - he bought him and picks him) 2. The team stung into action (having been given the ''right to play'' by the fans [:@]) followed by 3 goals in 12 minutes against very mediocre opposition.    3. A totally undeserved victory which it was hard to feel good about.  Frankly, I''ve had enough of leaving Carrer Rud feeling cheesed off about our performances this season - worse still when, somehow, we''ve won.   I still remember the pain of watching Brighton & HA play us off the park with 10 men for 40 odd minutes in February before Earnie sneaked a late couple of goals. As my wife said at the time: "If that''s what you call a good Valentine''s Night out, you can bl**dy well keep it"...  [:$] It''s got to change - we just can''t keep on accepting this stuff. And I don''t think the Canary Norfolkman will any more.  It''s reached the point of no return.  So, Delia, no 10 games for Worthless next season to see how he gets on.  We all know what he''s capable of - and he''s shown all season that it''s not good enough. P45 for Worthless!!
12. Before we get too dewy-eyed about Gallacher, can we just remember that 1. he looked decidedly ''iffy'' with a number of the high crosses yesterday; and 2. he was also not too hot at commanding his area. There were a few misunderstandings with his defence which, fortunately, QPR were not good enough to capitalise on.  The trouble is - as all too often - we''re now in a situation where a ''yes/no'' decision on the man''s future needs to be made on little decent evidence. I said in an earlier post some time ago now that I thought Greeno should be rested for a short while for is own good (when he was clearly underperforming in relatin to his normal high standards) so that we could see the likes of Ward and Gallacher. But no - it''s typical of this club that we find ourselves in an end of term rush on such critical decisions becasue Gallacher''s contract expires soon... (sounds like it fdinishes at the end of the month to me, if Worthless wants to settle Gallacher''s future on Wednesday...) I, like many others, expect Greeno to go in the summer, and wish him well.  He deserves it, and his potential England career needs it. But, yet again, NCFC ends up scrabbling around - with the manager even confessing he does not know if Gallacher wants to live and work in England or Scotland.... Doesn''t he ever talk to him, for heaven''s sake????  [:@]
13. The trouble is that Hucks came out (again) yesterday in defence of the manager - and if there''s one person Delia et al don''t want to lose - or even upset - it''s Hucks.  It''s fine being a ''family club'', but not at any price......, And yet, I hear from my VERY reliable local source (who''s centre stage in the game at Championship level, not on the sidelines) that several of the Norwich team want ''out'' at the end of the season, because they''ve lost faith in the Worthless approach.... I just hope the Board can rise above all this frustrating family cosiness and ''do the deed'' on 1 May (after another 90 minutes of ordinariness against Wolves).  [^o)]
14. SC: The official NCFC website says that ''Paul McVeigh hopes to put his back injury behind him very soon''. My question to you is: if McVeigh hopes to put it behind him soon, where do think his back injury has been up to now?  Give yourself time on this one - no need to rush your answer.  [:)]
15.
I know we are probably all just seat holders but has anyone on here ever pulled out of a box? And if so how did they feel about it afterwards. To me it seems rather a premature course of action.
I once pulled in a box.  I felt good about it at the time but, the following day, I felt rather guilty. Fortunately, my wife has never found out....
16. Just for fun, SC, I''ve clicked 5 times because - I''m really loyal; - I really want Worthy out; but most of all, - I really, really want to make your day, as you''ve made mine with your wonder posts!!  PS  - you can take your school cap off now... [:)]
17. Very funny, think I need a P. Please mind your Ps and Qs, Rudolph - there are clerely sum yung pirsons reding and riting on this site, who mite be inflooensed by yore sugestiv remarx.
18.
In a spirit of reconciliation I think the acceptible intelligence level requirement should be from you upwards.
Another stonker, Rudolph!  Keep ''em comin'', mate.  This Forum is making me feel as if the holidays have really begun!
19. Is that really Notting Hill or East Hammersmith or even perhaps Ladbroke Grove? I know how it works: St. Ockwell, Balm, South Edmonton...... MORNINGTON CRESCENT!!!  [:D]
20. Letting them all do a lap of whatever to an empty(ing) stadium has got to be the most effective way of getting the point across, one last time.
21. I think I just mixed up Silver Fox with Silver Canary.  Sorry if I did... Unless Silver Fox want to be a jernlist as well when he groes up???
22. "So you don''t think that people have a rite to an opinion till they are 30 as well?" Worse still, Silver Fox, when they are over 70, they often get their last rites...
23. Please note, Rudolph, that it is illegal to keep canaries in boxes. Canary managers may, however, be boxed up and sent, with a one-way ticket, on a slow boat to China....
