1.
The lack of Jimmy Kebe for reading is interesting to me.
Is he injured?
 2. I know it worked out for the better, but the year we went down to league one was pretty huge. Had it not been for some key decisions at pivotal points the story could have been very different.
What with the 4-1 thrashing we dished out and the potential of what a win could result in I dont think we''ve had a bigger league derby.Yes we''ve had the milk cup games and the 2003/04 games but there is so much riding on this for both sides. If (God forbid!) the blue filth win then they are right back in the playoff hunt (mathematically at least) and they have the satisfaction of knowing that revenge has been dished out.A draw isnt THAT bad but it isnt the best.A win for us and I think we''ll have enough to stay in 2nd for the rest of the season- cardiff have away games at Preston and Burnley and QPR at home wont be easy either.I really dont know what score to predict. The thing keeping me calm is the Paul Lambert factor.OTBC
3. "All of the £2million has been ring-fenced by the Norwich City board to be used solely for the playing budget and not spent in other areas." Seems to indicate £2mn........
 4. I feel this is just unfounded speculation on your part. Lets just see how things pan out. This season is incredibly close, therefore I think it is too difficult to say one way or another about anything. The only thing you could probably say is that automatic looks as though it may go down to the wire.
 5. It''s interesting looking at their website, the Chairman of Burnley has come out to justify their public actions of last week and reassure fans. They have really made a rod for their own back. This has backfired bigtime and they look like amateurs (IMO).Any manager that goes their now not only knows that they are not first choice, but also knows that everyone else knows! Not the best way start a new job me thinks!I hope Malky Mackay stays at Watford for a while longer rather than making the mistake that Brendan Rodgers did!
 6. Can anyone tell me if we knew Lambert was joining us before he joined - I can''t remember.
 7. This is quite interesting believe it or not.I think we can really gauge from this how ambitious both Norwich and Lambert are. I''ll be interested to watch this play out.P.S. no-one with ambition goes to Burnley - ask Owen Coyle!
 8.
I would like to make a prediction, that all of us City fans will not like. I predict that the GOD that is Paul Lambert will be the manager of Everton by the end of the month. On what do I base this the toffee men play Spurs this week and will lose that will put then in the bottom three they will then lose to Scunthorpe out of two cups this season to lower league teams (Brentford and Scunny) this will not be acceptable on Merseyside, and Moyes will be out. They will need a replacement and Paul Lambert will move to the bigger club. I also predicted that Paul would be our next manager when we were 5-0 down to Colchester last season If I am proved wrong you can all laugh at me on the 1st feb I hope I am well off the mark. because I believe that Mr Lambert is one of the best managers we have ever had
How does the Everton v Spurs result tonight fit in with your prediction?

 10.

You''ve only got look out your window, it''s frozen solid outside everywhere. They haven''t got undersoil heating. This might give us an advantage playing Shef Utd on Tuesday.
So how come that other clubs without undersoil heating have managed to get their games on then? Fulham and Ipswich spring to mind without doing any homework! There''s only 4 games off( so far) in the whole of the championship and premier and they are northern clubswho have had the worst of the weather.
Fulham have undersoil heating - back to school?
 11.
Think yesterday showed that Russell Martin still isn''t good enough for a starting 11 berth. Gradel made him look like a fool for 60 minutes. Today underlined how much work K.Smith really does for him, probably doing two people''s jobs at times. I''d seriously consider getting in a loan RB.
Here speaks a person who clearly doesn''t understand the various nuances of the game of football.I''ll break it down for you - leave Gradel 1 v 1 against any full back in the league, then he wins. Similar to MacNamee against Burnley. Martin did incredibly well to keep him at bay as much as possible. You''re right that Martin was exposed. Left exposed through a lack of defensive support, which Korey normally does very well.
 12. Could not disagree more over R Martin - he was left exposed all day. How many teams this season will you see leave Gradel 1 v 1 against their full back? And of those that do, how many will concede more from this tactic as a result? I suspect not many and quite a few respectively! If you watched Martin yesterday, not only was he not overwrought by Gradel, but he was also able to often communicate with the other City defenders to ensure that there was as much organisation as possible - this is possibly a role that he shouldn''t have to undertake, and yet he does it well.
 13. In response to your point, he is more than good enough for this level.I think a bigger question appears to be leadership in defence. It is no coincidence that we continue to concede from set pieces. Noone is taking responsibility for organising the defence, so we have a situation where we have a good bunch of individual defenders but no cohesive unit (Mackay, Fleming et al). Case in point would be the goal we conceded last night - where was the defender on the post where the goal went in?You can see this at every set piece - during one corner last night there was no defenders on either post. The question is, who is going to take that role on?
 14.
Not even been on the bench for the last two games, and (as far as I know) he''s not injured. I don''t understand why he''s not involved at all. He''s not perfect, but he''s definitely got something to offer in my opinion. People may slate me, but Korey Smith has struggled a little the last two games. If Hughes had any degree of match fitness (which he almost certainly doesn''t), I''d be tempted to start him in Smith''s position on Tuesday. He''s probably a more creative player, and he''s shown before how hard-working he can be. He just seems completely forgotten, which I feel is wrong as he''s a talented player.
Don''t consider this a "slating", but I do disagree that Smith has struggled. Yes, he is not a creative midfielder in the same ilk as Wes and Hughes, however, his tireless workrate combined with his obvious quality means that he needs to be on the pitch! The possible solution is to go 4 5 1 with Holt as a lone striker - Chrissy Martin has a lot of quality, but we need to be flexible when he''s not firing on all cylinders!
 15. Disagree with this - give the guy some crosses and opportunities!Too often he is having to drop into wide positions as there is not the supply!
 16. Possession Norwich 56%Barnsley 44% Attempts on target Norwich 9Barnsley 3 Attempts off target Norwich 4Barnsley 1 Corners Norwich 2Barnsley 1 Fouls Norwich 15Barnsley 15 Lies, damned lies, and statistics..........?
 17. I haven''t posted on here for 5 years or so, but I''ve come out of retirement to say I love this man!!I''m going to put myself out there and say, best player i''ve ever seen - obviously unbiased!
 18. Best post i''ve read for a long while!! I''m in full agreement and anyone who disagrees with the sentiments of this post has their own interests ahead of the club''s!!
 19.
I''m sure its all very good natured. My advice...get a defender who''s got a bit of pace...that way you won''t struggle to keep up and end up tripping AJ up. Luton did it on Saturday with Davies, Lescott...
It''s not so much class we lack in midfield, its cohesion. We''ve a lot of new signings, mostly in the midfield department and its just going to take a while for them to gel together, but when they  do it will be the strongest midfield in this league with huckerby, marney, jarrett and safri!! Even though we didn''t beat crewe there were signs of a much improving side!!
