Some absolute morons on here. Hamstrings are probably the hardest muscle to repair and taking any risks when they''re not 100% is asking for trouble. Look at the state of Michael Owen or Torres after continually being rushed back after their own injuries. If we were languishing down the bottom, struggling for goals maybe you''d have seen him back but we''re in a position where we can afford to look after him

I''ve thought this since the beginning of the year. Wherever the ball bounces or comes down, Fox is almost always under it. I don''t think you can teach that kind of awareness but obviously being fitter and stronger helps massively. One might suggest he''s a very similar player to his manager..

Let’s not forget CMS has a lot more Championship experience than Holt did before this season. Anyway I thought the partnership to really get us firing up the league was Chrissy Martin and Simeon Jackson, with Macnamee and a right winger firing the crosses in?

I believe the club normally use these cup games where there won''t be many regulars in their normal seats to show they are proactively enforcing the rules under FA assesment (or whoever that does it).

Holt''s much like Kevin Davies who has been the highest foul committer in the Premiership for a few years now. It''s not that either are particularly dirty players (although Holt does get a bit nasty when he''s really riled) but the way they play, backing in / challenging in the air, the Ref is going to give a lot of decisions against them. Shearer was a similar player.. not dirty, just hard. I don''t think we''ve ever had anyone really dirty like a Viera or Matterazi.

I think an experienced, strong Dion Dublin type striker who could come on and hold the ball up and generally take the pressure off a bit would make a world of difference.   For all Holt''s qualities, he''s not been winning a lot in the air and would probably benefit playing with another big man sometimes.

The Mirror are usually very accurate with NCFC stories. I recall they were first to break the Gunn sacking and Lambert appointment stories.
