  1. Hughton quoted as saying Fulham game fairly even and the stats had us on top ??? The bloke should be locked in a room with soft walls. The least he could do would be admit how awful we were.
  2. Some might label it a diamond because that''s what it is. I am really not convinced Wes is the answer, but if he is going to play this is the only formation that suits him. I think id prefer 4-4-2 with at least one winger
  3. Almost all managers are sacked goes with the job. Yes at least he has shown he can put a team together to attack.
  4. I think context is without doubt the key. We know the service has been terrible and we also know he has had to come deep looking for the ball, I think the sliced shot he had at Everton is probably a good example, not really a chance at all just a hit and hope. I think With either a decent goal scoring free passing number 10 (which we do not have) or 2 up front he will get chances and score goals. He continues to feed off scraps at Everton there may have been 2 up front but the rest of the team was on the edge of the penalty area. We need to both attack and defend as a unit and with more pace and we will get the Wolf scoring Anybody with the exception of Hughton can see that.
  5. Couldn''t agree more Jimmy. I am not concerned with our points tally or indeed our position in the league. I can agree with the "inners" that there are at least 9 other teams in it with us. However with the possible exception of West Ham I cannot see a team that look less passionate and likely to win a game.
  6. I think the biggest problem would be the fact that the real window of opportunity to change will slam shut in before the next League game. So revert to type and it will all get ugly despite the fact that getting rid without changing any playing staff is unlikely to create the bounce we need and what manager would want it. We might need a magician rather than a manager to avoid doing a Wolves then.
  7. Whilst I will turn up at Carrow Road on Saturday with everything crossed looking for a win and 3 points we desperately need this would change nothing for me. Hughton has to go and quickly. I wasn''t happy last season and suggested he be given 10 games of this season. He should have gone then. I was surprised by the away win at WBA and prepared to give him a little more breathing space to see if anything changed, but here we are again still watching 11 strangers on a pitch unable to cobble a decent performance together. I cannot imagine the man can instil passion in anyone having had to regularly listen to his press conferences. Can you really see Saturday as a tipping point or has the point of no return been reached ?
  8. I understand the sentiment and I believe have shared it in the long past but at a level where 3 points was not so precious (championship) but I cannot hope for anything except 3 points. Quite happy with a huge chorus of we want Hughton out after the final whistle though, win lose or draw.
  9. Interesting line for those who say its extreme or indeed its too late. Cortese replaced former boss Nigel Adkins with former Argentina defender Pochettino in January 2013, when the Saints were three points clear of the relegation zone. Pochettino guided them to safety and they are currently ninth in the top flight with 21 games played.
  10. You want to be careful messing with Lakeys personal forum, the cheek of it.
  11. You are such a hypocrite Lakey, I left this board about a week ago because i''d had enough of the smug comments that you , Morty and Nutty attacked anyone that had an opposing view to you. Debate is one thing but you lot like to smugly dismiss anything you do not agree with without actually addressing the opinion put forward. and now this ? you really are surpassing yourself.
  12. I think you and the three stooges are the 4 Yorkshire men from the Monty Python sketch of the same name.
  13. I have no idea if we will end up back in league 1or in Championship no mans land like the lot down the road. or somehow continue to deliver the bare minimum required to be the 4th worst team in the premier league. But the one thing I am completely sure of is that Nutty, LDC and Morty will think everything remains completely perfect. If we do not find a way to play better football than we have under Hughton so far there''s no reason to be in the premier league.
  14. Give it up Juge they will be smiling all the way back to league 1.
  15. No I think you called it right. They are the only 2 players we need. Watching Garrido on Saturday I forgot what a good player he was.
  16. You know what they say "its the hope that''ll kill ya" Surely if they came out and said whilst we are disappointed that we are not performing better we have had significant injuries and we remain committed to Chris Hughton who will certainly be our manager for the remainder off the season and hopefully several years to come. We would all know exactly where we stand and like it or lump it we would have to get used to it. After all if they don''t get rid of him soon it would be too late anyway, the nightmare would be a January like last year and a new manager without any chance to strengthen the squad.
  17. Dear Le Juge Don''t waste your breath, I started a thread before the weekend titled "whatever Happened to our wonderful family club" and whilst it went to 8 pages it ended up as just another Hughton Thread. Nobody seemed to agree with me, its nice that I am not alone in expected more from our board. I think that it might be possible to bring the separate factions of our support together with a well worded statement from the top, but the silence is deafening.
  18. As has been said our greatest need lies elsewhere.
  19. Utter rubbish used to justify the dour football served up by Norwich City over the last 2 seasons. Of course at the top there will always be the teams with the money and the players beyond our wildest dreams that will beat us even on our best day. Once in a blue moon we might get a result but we travel in hope more than expectation other than that there are probably 14 teams that should be comparable probably much closer now than 20 years ago in terms of finance do they all have to put up with the kind of games we do ? West Ham Probably Only Cardiff, Palace and Sunderland have scored less goals than us and of those only Sunderland can match our goals conceded. Yes we grind out the odd result but please don''t damn the league based on our lacklustre performances as I am sure even fans of these teams will have had days to remember this season Sunderland and Cardiff Beating Man City for instance.
  20. We all have to deal with it RVW4 that''s just it. we cannot play exciting attacking football FULL STOP.
  21. I didn''t say Hughton didn''t like him in fact I was suggesting even if he didn''t like him that that wouldn''t mean he would be sold. Personally despite watching him regularly I do not believe any manager has found any formation other than the diamond that plays to his strengths and makes us a cohesive team. Sure play him on the wing, shoehorn him in behind a striker when he hardly ever shoots this is what has always made him frustrating and as he gets older will he become more productive ? I am not questioning his will to tackle or track back just that he 4ft nothing and less effective than the player we should be playing in that position. 3 Goals and more importantly 4 assists in the last 2 seasons just isn''t enough regardless of how good he looks on the ball.
  22. For what its worth nobody that sits near me wants him to stay, there is an apathy and if he continues to do just enough I guess people cannot justify getting angry to the degree of protest. I don''t buy the "its the premier league like it or lump it" argument even the sides below us in the league (with the exception of West Ham) play with passion and entertain the fans even if they don''t win. I don''t personally believe it has anything to do with our performances against the big boys, nobody expects anything, its against the teams around us at the bottom of the league that we would hope for more inspiring performances.
