1. A young lad, released by a league club, gets a shock and either responds or disappears.. maybe he''s one of the former type. Barnsley have a good pedigree for central defenders too. I''ll give him a chance rather than right him off before he gets here... assuming Luke Shaw doesn''t want to come here!
2. If we want perspective then just look at Coventry City''s plight. sold out to the highest bidder now they have nothing. These fans have really reason to moan and would happily swap position with us at Carrow Road.
3. Apologises for the late picks, Fulham v Barnsley home win Norwich to win and Naismith to score first. good luck everybody.
4. A Coventry fan friend of me says the guy is full of talent, although he did add he needs to toughen up before he plays at a higher level - may be Scottish football is the best place for him short term ?
5. Luke Shaw in then, not rated or needed by Jose, give the lad a chance to rebuild his career. Yes this is a joke.
6. Totally agree KC - that said, I hope it a great night for all who can/do attend
7. Lincoln must have taken a fair few......out of interest how many did Southampton bring.
8. A happy new year to everybody. Avoiding the FA Cup although I can see a couple of upset depending on the team the so called bigger clubs put out. But I''ll stick with the League and tip Bristol Rovers to beat Northampton neither team are pulling up trees at the moment but with a lot of their rivals not playing it gives Rovers the chance to leap up the league into 6th place. For the Norwich bet, I really think this depends on what team Southampton put out. if they play the youngsters then I can see our "cup team" coming through but I''ll the game to finish in a score draw and a trip back to St Mary''s for the TV revenue Good luck everybody.
9. If we are looking in the lower leagues have a look at Matty Taylor at Bristol Rovers, I have only seen him on the EFL goals show on a Saturday, but scores plenty, has come up from the non league (Forest Green I think?) and doesn''t need to break the net to score (I like finishers who pass the ball into the net) Not sure of his worth but looks a small quick striker in the mould of Wells?
10.
He was pretty rubbish to be honest. Buy he always was when he played in the middle for us.
Agree with this 100% his best season with us was when he was switched to the left side.-still can''t pass over 10 yards
11. Good evening Pups, and may I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2017. For our friend Leeds I''m going for a value long shot with Southampton struggling at the moment and WBA being so hard to beat I''ll take WBA to nick an away win at a very generous 4/1 (ladbrokes) For the Norwich game, I''m still behind the manager, but i''m not sure how many of the players are - which is much more of a worry. having beaten them 5-0 a few weeks ago I can''t see them reversing this so I''ll go with Norwich to win with both teams to score. Good luck pickers.
12. Why would he make a good replacement won 1 in 11 and lost a few from being in front with seconds left? What''s with fans wanting failed managers at our club.
13. Up until last week when Leicester turned things around in 45mins against a 10 man Stoke, I have been in good form. so maybe now the form will be dipping. I''m going to suggest Notts County V Doncaster away win for the him in our him & hers team of pickers. Any for her I''d suggest a No goal scorer as I think this will be a do not lose approach for both teams. Have a great Christmas all and enjoy the break.
14. if we are pointing fingers, then Pinto''s free header left the rest of the team exposed, at worst he should of headed it up the line, not into the middle of the pitch with our midfielders pushing forward. Sounds like it was a very poor goal to concede (oh and the finish was a toe poke on the run.
15. Looks like we have the A team in charge this week experience over youth I would suggest! Fot Inchy I like the look of Stoke at home against Leicester - after a poor start Stoke have been picking up points and Leicester''s away form is not one of champions. - with odds of better than even money this looks like a decent bet. Stoke V Leicester Home win Now for Nutty I''m going to predict a second home win on the trot with a more comfortable 3-1 score line. Good luck both of the pickers.
16. Agree with this Rusty - changing the words a masterstroke? I don''t understand that?
17. I''m still feeling a little smug after Mr Pritchard''s late goal, so I hope Molly and Kathy feel the same after this weekend. For Kathy I offer a much Improving Wycombe side (they have got some key players back and haven''t lost in the last 5- in fact I think they''ve won the last 5) they travel to a troubled Notts County side who haven''t won in the last four since beating lowly Boreham Wood in the cup. at 6/4 this looks a good value bet if your want to boost the returns. For Molly I was very impressed with Olivera last week and for a little bit of the stake, I would back him to score 2 or more at 9/1. Good luck both.
18. I know Jacob hasn''t commented on this himself and it''s only speculation, but why would a young footballer at the start of his career want to move to a club that almost certainly would use them as a squad player. there have been numerous "good young players" over the years who have jumped at the first opportunity and never really made an impression at the new club.- Shaun Wright Phillips, Scott Sinclair etc. The FA ought to somehow "ring fence" the potentially good youngsters to help them develop rather than the big teams buying them just to prevent others getting them. IMO
19. Thanks all for the kind words, and Ryan was very unfortunate to have a difficult week to pick from. Great to be able to add a few quid to the pot. thanks again Nutty for the opportunity.
20. I can recall three chances Brentford had, Hogan was on the end of all of them, his movement caused our back four problems all match - fortunately his team mates couldn''t match his movement. he must have been watching Pritchard and think ..if only. As for the chances, 1 the free - headed from the corner which he should of done better with. 2 the header which bounced down and over the bar 3 the volley in the second half that went over. Great movement for all three.
