Rupp has been our best player. Anyone who says otherwise is simply looking for a scapegoat. -

Buendia being back is a quandary, do we want him to have a great match, which could seal a transfer or have a bit of a stinker and he’s still here for the next match?! -
Agreed that the early signs are a bit like 14/15 for many reasons. The only difference being we’ve signed a lot of new players who could be the difference once they’ve settled in and gelled. Equally, they may not be upto it but I’ll give him 10 matches. As said earlier, a win today and it’s a decent start in the circumstances. A defeat and it’s a pretty terrible one. Fine lines....

I expected to lose a FB, an AM and one other this window, with Godfrey most likely. So I expect either Emi or Todd to leave imminently. Anymore than that, without further significant spending and I think we’ve been led up the garden path again as we’ll do well to finish sixth. This is exactly why, in my opinion, putting everything into staying up was always the best option. Relegation leads to many issues that Webber can’t control so whilst on paper, his 5 year plan may look great, in reality it’s a completely different matter. How many teams bounce back at the first attempt? Very few. I always found it strange that so many fans were happy with relegation on the basis that we would be any different.

That’ll be 9 league games and I’ve said on another thread that we need at least 15 points from the first 10 or I would show Farke the door. Anything less and we probably wouldn’t even be top 6. When looking at the opposition though, we really should be targeting a minimum of 12 points from those matches. That’d give us 16 points from 9 matches, a win in the tenth and we’d probably be top 2.

Staying in the premier league was best for the long term stability of the club yet they somehow managed to convince a lot of fans that relegation was a good idea!

Kenny signs new contract until 2023

How would you guys define a mess at a football club then? And what more would need to happen for us to be in one? -
Kenny signs new contract until 2023

I give Farke 10 league games to sort this mess out and I think we need a minimum of 15 points from those matches. If he picks Kenny in all 10, which seems likely, i do not envisage is getting anywhere near that total. Although the same could be said of Zimbo currently. Anything less than a win on Saturday, against another team in a mess, and I think the pressure really starts to mount. That pressure could start before the match depending on what other issues transpire over the next few days and another depressing team selection. -
McLean has been absolutely dire since the original restart. I don’t think he’s a bad player but if Farke is picking players based on form, which is what he’s said, then how can Kenny keep getting picked?!

This is common knowledge isn’t it? The sticking point is that he’s agreed personal terms before the club has agreed a deal.

NCFC v Preston Matchday Thread

Why is it almost all fans question McLeans inclusion but yet he is one of the first names on the team sheet? He’s either anonymous or giving the ball away. I’m bored of saying this every match! -
Norwich vs Huddersfield - OFFICIAL MATCH THREAD

We need someone creative in midfield and I don’t believe there’s even an option on the bench? Unless we’re just going to go direct later with Hugill and Placeta on. -
Team for Huddersfield

I think all would agree he’s not getting any younger CC - he’s not Benjamin Button! -
I didn’t see Mario on any either, did anyone else?

Hopefully that’ll stick another couple of million on his value as I’m convinced he’ll be leaving shortly. -
Quintillia will be 1st choice to start with, I don’t think there’s any real debate about that.

I’ve heard Lewis and Godfrey were the two ‘dead certs’ to leave this summer which is why we’ve already recruited to replace them. I believe Lewis nearly left in Jan. I would think they expect either Cantwell or Buendia to leave as well but not both. So I’d expect at least one, maybe two more departures.

Ireland vs Finland- Official match thread
Clint replied to cambridgeshire canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Not sure why Idah is really even playing, other than to lock him into playing for Ireland. He’s started 2 competitive matches in his career. At this stage, it’s a bit of a stretch to expect him to look really good in a pretty dire international team. -
I’m not going to have claimed to have watched the game today or am that bothered by it but, from what I have read, the failings seem somewhat familiar.

We signed an expensive alternative GK last season and still had to rely on McGovern!
