  1. Hate that place with a real passion but sums up their supporters, being brought up the right side off the border in the 80s. If they were to drop a league, they''d seriously struggle to get back up again. It''s a very hollow club with nothing substantial or credible about them in todays'' world. Long may they struggle holding on to old dreams!
  2. Makes a solid front line for this league and will do the job. More in defence to shore it up imo, unless we can get the Adams v Bassong issue to ease. Eat humble pie, he can do good in this league too.
  3. Strong defence and dominating midfield to dictate. Feed the wings for some poaching. Weather their 20 minute all guns blazing, play our passing game and then we will be laughing. They cannot play football!
  4. Leroy has done that every game at Carrow Road. Normally with him shaking the keepers hand then applauding the Jarrold, River end then back to the Barclay. People said the same thing during the last transfer window saying it was a last farewell but forgetting his routine (or not noticing). I''d say he''ll be here for one more game on Tuesday then going to a better club than the likes of QPR or West Ham. Far more to his game to come when played the right way, will become a big player.
  5. On the BBC site our secret agent is saying he was expecting rapid promotion after he bought 1p5wich. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28791885 Has he really had offers to buy the club but refused? Are our rivals ambition of being a successful club based on mid table mediocrity? Long may his efforts help them with this "Heavy investment early on has seen the club rack up a debt of around £80m to him and after repeated failures to mount serious promotion challenges, the playing budget has been significantly reduced." Great invest he''s been to that club :-) Maybe if he bought decent players their fans may turn up to support but I doubt it. I do love to see them struggle. I know where I''d rather be, north side of Waveney where the grass is greener. At least we''ve had far more ups than downs and fuller grounds.
  6. What if they scrapped in by 0.3%? If they are upset by that then what do they think about two key points: How many bums on seats per game each season? How many points obtained per season? If their youth is any good, they''d be better than their first team and pushing to the play offs. But if I recall correctly they sell off quickly for money which ends up where? Some fans complain how our club is run but seriously they need to look others around us.
  7. ...a manic depressive. It''s not the greatest appointment in the world. It may work in the Championship (it may level out, believe their are far worse out there) but can''t judge until a few games in. Regardless, still as always City through and through. Won''t turn my back because but still support. We''ve been through the bad to good to a disappointing season. We''ve run our luck, we''ve conquered a few teams, had a good run. We could have, should have and didn''t when we had the chance. But I will still be there on match day, as I love my club. It''s an obsession I''ll never rid. Am I wrong for that? Anyone else feels the need to say "What the heck, it''s just another season, we can still do well?" or do you feel like throwing the towel in already before the fixture list/transfer window/first ball has been kicked? We had a tough run in but...
  8. From what I can remember, didn''t we have to squeeze through two airportesque metal detectors, which took an age to get through and caused the delays? Plenty of herding/bleating of lambs that day.
  9. About Barcelona fans. Lucky enough to be there last week for the Man City game, with a cousin who is a Barcelona fan (who has been many times). They don''t use happy clappers to make noise. They sent out flags for all fans. All around the stadium, they are all waving in their build up - they all sing. It is similar to OTBC. Can put video up from a decent section of the home ground if need be for the moaners on here. There is a point. 100kl vs 25k? Play that against how many away fans turn up - but we have the Main/City Stand and the River End who are only vocal...when? Atmosphere was cracking. Forgetting the above what is of BIG note: There is a section of fans in two blocks behind their home end which make noise all game. Big deal? Standing up, tannoys and so on. NONE sit down as as though sectioned to make noise. It kept the fans going throughout. It''s standing in a seated area and none were quiet throughout. McNally needs to look at this if looking at Barcelona fans and taking to the old school Barclay in a section to stand up and make noise???? Fantastic fans there and enjoyable as a neutral to enjoy football and the atmosphere! Messi & Iniesta footwork in awe. Should play one of our forwards like Messi - straight down the middle, no flank play out of position.
  10. Thorpe, you conclude that you really are not a City fan if you think that. Your history of our club over a short 10 year period is laughable. Roeder wrecked us and took us to an all time low. The club learnt from that big time and took us to where we are now. We''ve had far worse managers to drag Hughton to that level. I hope we beat Villa tomorrow for the sake of our club but also would love to see you eat humble pie.
  11. Thorpe is always comparing Hughton to Roeder. Is why I cannot digest anything he writes and his opinion doesn''t matter because of. Serious loss of memory there to believe they are both equal.
  12. There were plenty of fans who adore Lambert today but at the end of our first season in the Premiership were extremely paranoid we would go down - to such an extent I said for them to put their money on us going down, they refused to. Last season they were saying the exact same with Hughton but now praising Lambert. This Thorpe End Canary is such a fan, no confidence in current managers when things go bad but look at the past like a scum fan on TWTD site for comfort. I recall him saying Roeder was forgiven - Thorpe showed his colours there in my book! Lambert walked away from us, not kicked out. He turned his back and I recall from after the friendly against Celtic at Carrow Road, his last words to us in the stands was "Good luck!". His hidden farewell. Can I ask Thorpe, why is he any better and why you look up to him when they are extremely similar managers in results? Different style of play but points in the top league are they end result. At the moment, you have no argument for a difference. Rsvp
  13. Has to be Fer & Tettey in the middle. If Howson fit, he pushes up in his best position with Tettey in un-passaball Johnsons position. Fer controlling midfielder. 2 of Pilks, Redmond or Snodgrass 1 of RVW or Hopper - if one is lacking, replace asap. Back four selects itself as apart from West Ham, has been improved.
  14. Is that the only way they can get more faeces into Portaloo Road?
  15. Various questions: Do you get another striker in who can''t be fed balls? RVW and Hooper have ability. The latter proved more goal worthy since injury, runs a lot (better than Holt last season imo), RVW needs service. Right move not getting another striker!!! Jonas, I believe can fill a Wes role - he''s shot his bolt. It''s underlying. Midfield is the issue - Johnson, like him as person, puts a foot in but...end product. Tettey & Fer is the key. Tettey is just about back. Get Howson up to speed and we are looking ok! Just OK, nothing special but enough. We CAN keep clean sheets, even under pressure. Big teams - no chance but hedge your bets. We do have enough to fight to keep up - NOT be comfortable but enough to survive. Palace, Fulham, Cardiff and so on may have bought but what in comparison? All we need to do is start feeding the striker(s)... Call me deluded
  16. With Crabby. NCFC through and through. How many years of decent attendances, 10+ now? Seen the worst in Roeder and best in Lambert (before the toys/pram or money) in that time. I''ll stick by the club as not the be all/end all. Hughton has run out of ideas at the moment, just needs a spark sometimes (or a blunderbuss) to kick-start things but no reason to not renew.
  17. Seriously? I''ve seen too many fans saying they''d rather have Roeder, Grant and Gunn back over Hughton. What the heck has got into some of our fans at the moment? Any fan who believes Roeder is better seriously should walk away now. Grant had the respect to walk away. Gunn was out of his depth. Hughton is striding towards Worthington in having a team and can''t get the players to play/gel - it''s a two way situation (pun intended) where the players also have to read each other. We have a team but no leaders. We don''t need the likes of Holt now. I don''t know the solution but such pathetic posts should see such fans ridiculed for pure stupidity in my book.
  18. Y Kaboul Hip/Thigh Injury 11th Jan 14 - Not Feb, so maybe worth a punt.
  19. And when they go to Man Utd on the 28th Jan and get beaten 8-0 by the Red Devils. What will he do then?
  20. Always PhysioRoom to keep you up to date http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php?SKEY=366eoe5tqcdcprqbgjonvqcn61
  21. Is 3-2 at Portaloo Road on Boxing day with Mendham and O''Neill goals for me. Sat with complimentary tickets via Dad just in front of Radio Suffolk commentating with Brother, Uncle and Granddad. They must have hated us with each goal throughout Suffolk that day. Don''t get many better Xmas presents than that.
  22. EADT: “We are having to readdress our next six months’ cash flow due to being let down by a debtor and are requesting assistance from you in this regard. Given our circumstances would you be prepared to accept the following revised payment terms for your invoices?” How many local companies did they let down back in the day? Heavily in debt, about time they got knocked down a peg or two because it''s happening all over again. Other clubs have had to suffer similar, sod them being our local rivals.
  23. Feeding him decent balls is the answer. How? More attacking minded midfielder and balls fed in from the wings. Can we do it? Yes! Howson when further up the field when playing with Fer without Johnson upsetting that apple cart. Redmond, after Wednesday night, proved he can cross a decent ball in from the left side. Snodgrass and Pilks on their day can reek havoc. It''s all about the balance and it''s there but so far, we''ve not had the best of squad available to see this happen. There is a blend but always 2 parts or more of jigsaw missing
  24. Ipswich have no depth to make a push to get into the play offs, let alone stay in there. Their 14k crowds speak volumes to what their community believes in their Town. Even for their biggest games they cannot sell out. A real joke of a club and long may they continue their run of longest serving Championship club going nowhere. Long may they dwell & live in what they achieved many decades ago like Leeds. The past is only for history
