1. This is a difficult one; it''s the same as when we were scrapping around at the bottom of the Prem, when mid-table in the Championship looked more attractive sometimes! However, as a fan, it''s about supporting the team through thick and thin, so I guess the higher the League, the better.
 2.
so that was the famous feared millwall support ?  good numbers for an early kick off but vocally pathetic..ridiculed by the barclay  all game  ..bristol rovers and oldham were better [:D]
I disagree - the Millwall fans were much louder than the Barclay for most of the match.
 3. My heart sank when I saw he was coming on, based on previous performances. However, apart from one mis-placed pass, he was really good today, with excellent reading of the game - I can see why the Exeter fans thought highly of him. In particular, he moved on the ball quickly today, which he hasn''t done in the past. As stated earlier, credit where credit''s due - well done Matty!
 4. How on earth he didn''t give a penalty against Semmy, I don''t know! Semmy mis-controlled the ball, went to kick the loose ball away and ended up taking their player''s legs away. If that had been us attacking, I would have gone beserk! I suppose that, bearing in mind some of the dodgy penalties given against us this year, we got the luck for a change.
 5.
Thanks ricardo, brilliant as ever. For me Lappin or Drury was MOM, those two played together reminiscent of the way we used to play and perhaps how football should be played, great teamwork by them. Semmy is a very frustrating player to watch. At times he is very good, he set up the first goal and defended very well the 1st 10 minutes of the second half when he was singled out by The Wall, but then at other times he absent, slow and often down-right lazy. I''m still not sure on Gill, for me he just didn''t seem very good at anything, and certainly Tom''s performance today would suggest that he should be in higher up the pecking order whilst Smith is out.
Totally agree with this; Juke-Box didn''t let anything past him all day and his attacking play was very good. I thought that, apart from one stray pass, Gill did really well, much better than I thought he would. Russell and Nelson defended really well between them, although Stevie Wonder could pass the ball better than Nelson!
 6.
90% sat down in near total silence for the whole game. that was shocking tonight, one of the worst norwich away ends ive ever been in.
I take it that you want everyone to know that you went to the match. Well, so did 800+ others.  "Look at me, look at me."
 7.
Yes shame we have gone out but we have turned in another good performance at one of the best sides in the Division at the moment, who would and still may be serious promotion candidates if not for the 10 points they lost. Penalties are always a lottery, we won at swindon and narrowly missed out here. the late equaliser was a shame though. If we keep playing like this we will continue to pick up a lot of points and will be in the mix at the end of the season. Even if we fail with promotion the league will be a lot easier next year with a lot of dross such as Plymouth  probably coming doen and if we do not go up then  Leeds, Charlton and possibly Huddersfiels would have gone up. Look on the brightside!
I think it''s the fact that we were cruising to a win and then Lambo changed it and brought on two of our poorest players for no apparent reason (one of whom missed his penalty). Chances to go to Wembley are very rare for us, so to throw it away (as opposed to getting beaten) is tough to take.
 8.
Inevitably our uninspired performance has disappointed many, but some of the overreaction is just silly. We''ve played a highly motivated Carlisle team without our best centreback combination and several players have been very underpar (Holt, Wes, Martin ,Rusty, Smith and Lappin). That''s the WHOLE of our midfield and front two offcolour in the same game!It was always going to happen but surely its better to have a performance like this in a cup than in the League? If we replicate tonight''s showing at Southend there may be a case for ranting and raving, but there isn''t tonight. Oh, and in case you think I missed Nelson in  my list of those performing below their  standard, it''s because, sadly, I think he did play to his!
Well said - the reaction by some on here tonight has been almost hysterical! perhaps they''d like to go back to having Gunn or Roeder as manager.
 9.
Or so it seems. What a gutless performance. Carlisle plainly wanted it, City didn''t fancy it at all. Shades of............ It''s now that Paul Lambert has to prove his true mettle. Will he head the way of Grant and Roeder - or will he scrap and win like Worthy? What''s your view? Me? You tell me what his stony-faced silence on the touchline today meant when the team needed pumping up and organising - then I''ll finalise my opinion. OTBC
My view is that one poor performance in, what, 15 or 16 games, isn''t bad going. Every team has off days - ask Real madrid, who were knocked out of their Cup by a team a couple of Divisions below them. Some posters on here tonight really need to wise up - a defeat every other game was the norm before lambert took over.
 10.
No wonder I am having trouble - I''m only getting about 150kbps at the moment. It sucks when ISPs throttle the speed during busy periods.
Same for me - about 250 on Virgin (on an 8 mb package)!
 11. Nelson is dreadfu - and people have the cheek to moan about Doherty!
 12.
we are p1ss poor so far. fa stream is working perfectly
We''re so poor we''ve just equalised. Muppet.
 13. I understand that there are still seats available at the moment.
 14.
Mr Whalley did indeed look good going forward but did bugger all getting back often leaving our beleagured full back coping with two players. Whalley does not do covering and tackling and defending and therefore is a liability. The reason we do not ship goals so much is this new team defending ethic. You get points by not conceding. The player himself could of course express a desire to break into the Norwich first team............. cue the sound of deafening silence.
When Hux did that, nobody minded! (Incidentally, in saying this, I should point out that I don''t rate Whaley!).
 15.
At least it started for you guys, couldn''t get it even started.
OK for me as well, and the broadband is pretty pathetic here in Hethersett!
 16.

I saw it on Sky Sports.  It looked fantastic, but really, truth be told, was just good chance. Every once in a while, a keeper will stop one of those sure things, and lucky for us it was this time.  Doherty was way out of position, at  least from the clip I saw. It looked like he was caught too far up field. There were no defenders anywhere in the picture, so he was the closest.  He wheeled away from the first shooter I guess to try to pick up the rebound but it went straight to their guy. Forster flailed his arm and the ball hit it!  It''s been a while, but luck seems to have discovered us.
To be fair, if anyone''s seen the highlights on Canaries Player, Doherty bombs back and makes an awesome last ditch tackle which puts enough pressure on the attacker to make sure he doesn''t connect properly, this combined with Forsters outstretched arm was enough to save the goal. I think with everyone so amazed by the save, no-one really noticed the Doc''s efforts!
Like you, I only noticed this on the highlights - fantastic defending from the Doc.
 17. Doherty for me. I was at the game on Saturday, but I missed a couple of superb pieces of defending by the Doc, which I''ve just seen on the BBC Norfolk highlights, that are typical of the way he''s playing at the moment. Firstly, I didn''t realise that he got back and slid in on the Tranmere forward just enough to get a nick which took the pace off the ball for Forster''s save (if that makes sense!). Most impressive was that he made up so much ground to do so. Secondly, his superb challenge at a corner that did enough to stop their number 5 scoring.
 18.
no where in that article does it suggest to me that holt is on his way. lambert is just telling it how it is as he always does, every player has a price. however, in holts case we would never get in excess of 1m for him so it would be pointless to sell as promotion would see us gain over 1m in TV money etc anyway.
If Holt is offered better money and a long contract elsewhere, he''ll go - the career of a professional footballer is not long and he''d look to secure the future for him and his family.
 19. Yep - I''m not sure what''s the problem, but it''s back again for now.
 20.

"We can''t afford them," he said. "I am not going to sit here and say it''s great, but it''s happened, and it''s something I am not going to go on about because the current group of lads are giving me everything they''ve got, they''ve been brilliant. But the money is not there at the minute." It''s not really a rant, is it?  He sounds quite realistic about the situation and while he''s not best impressed, he''s not threatening to walk away.  I understand that Lambert has been told he has to sell before he can buy, so expect to see Wes cashed in on in January and a few players coming in. If anything, this should please the serial whingers on this board as they think Wes is useless and overrated, so selling him to buy some additional players shouldn''t bother anyone.
Not threatening to walk away? I wonder how he will take a McNamee winner today??? [:#]
Certainly not as well as you, as I get the feeling you''d be strangely pleased if this happened.
Maybe I would CHOPS, but at least I can be honest about things, unlike our wonderful new board of directors. I will however not be hoping for this to happen, as I will be there cheering on the lads hoping that Lambert can continue to perform miracles against the odds!
I look forward to hearing your views on Hoolahan and Doherty.  We''re the ones in yellow and green.
LOL!
 21.
So who is the player he thinks is hiding in this season''s squad?
Who cares. I have had no time for Dennis after he compared concerned fans to nurse batterers!
 22.

I wasn''t there today.  But I''m guessing that in Leeds and Charlton, they''re looking over their shoulders at us now.  5-1 against 3rd in the table.  Should we be getting carried away by today, and Tuesday night ?
I''m sure you really know the answer to that.  This is such a long hard season with every game difficult in my book that I think it''s probably just best to sit back and enjoy your good results and hope, as do we all, that outside factors (like injuries) do not affect our prospects.  I''d go for quiet satisfaction at the moment.
You are of course right Cam - although Lambert has said in the past that we have a big squad for this league, so may be better placed to deal with injuries that most.  That said, we don''t have another Hoolihan when he is on form, or another Holt.  If we keep knocking over teams like Brizzle and start to build a winning streak, I can see the confidence building, something we haven''t really had since the last time we got promoted.  Mind you - the last time we went a long run unbeaten, 12 games I think Roeder played tinkerman, announced that the squad wasn''t good enough and brought in kids on loan instead of sticking with an unbeaten line-up.  I wonder how Lambert will play it in the January transfer window - given that he hasn''t really brought anyone in yet...
This is a valid comment; if we lose either of these (or Korey Smith) to injury / suspension, then I think that we''ll have problems.
 23.
MOM awards are based on that one performance. Last night he was as good as anyone. No reason not to give it to him.
My thoughts exactly. It doesn''t matter if he has been awful in past games, or what he''ll be like in future games - his performance on Tuesday was excellent.
 24.
lets hope he doesnt let us down
He didn''t - he was excellent.
 25. They are the same type of ''supporter'' who come on here and whinge and moan about anyone and anything at every given opportunity. There is a absolute pill**k who sits behind us in the Wensum Wing (in Row M) who is an absolute cracker for that - he was shouting and literally foamimg at the mouth when the Doc''s name was announced in the team! What a cretin - everyone was laughing at him when Doc got MoM!
