So just reading the last few pages, my recollection was that both Webber and Wagner said at the end of the disaster that was last season… lots of new faces in to freshen things up/ major revamp (words to that affect). It just hasn’t really happened has it? One player that cost a transfer fee and some freebies. It’s brilliant that we have started positively but it’s a long old season, I really hope we see a couple more additions or we are an injury or two from trouble. Still think we will go for a couple of loans whatever the current noise coming out of NR1.

Sargent will score 20 plus goals this season, with the emphasis on crosses into the box, especially from Stacey. -
Yep I saw that surely if it was confirmed 9m up front with Leeds that’s what we would want from Bournemouth?

Lol Dylan, bit early for that, but did make me think who was the last player Arsenal bought directly from us? Was it Andy Linigan? -

It’s Important to note he just recently and finally got his first international goal, both that and today is going to do his confidence no harm at all. -

People are saying we look more solid at the back and are less likely to concede as many, I am not so sure. On Saturday we still looked to have that annoying habit of one too many passes between defenders in the box, followed by a miss-weighted back pass to Gunn (or Gunn delaying his pass too long). A sharper strike force, who were closer to their season start, would have scored at least one on Saturday. For me we look like a mid-table team, still hoping for a few additions if we can move on those we a flaunting for sale. -
Hero to me, and it may seem an odd one to some was Mick Channon, after a dazzling career with Southampton and England he was at the twilight of his career, but boy…did he have class, great to see him get a trophy with us in 85. Danny Mills/ Tim Sherwood as the villains. opposition villains : Alan Brazil and David Speedie

You are right, the model was to sell at the peak and then reinvest wisely, we did that with Buendia, but invested the money so poorly. We held onto both Max and Cantwell to the detriment of the coffers. All ways round the self funding model disappoints when you sell your best players and totally disappoints when you reinvest badly ( Rachita, Tzolis). We are where we are.

I think there’s definitely two sticks in one to be had if you combine Mumba going and Idah’s five year contract. -

Come on now, nothings imploding, Stu’s still in the house and we have super fried Jam sandwiches on the menu. All is good. -
