  1. Depends why you take him. If the model is to take on a player, add value by training and then him sell, then 26 is late for that sort of signing. I realise a squad needs a mix, we are currently loaded with quite experienced players, depends whether you believe Onel is going to leave, he still has a year on his contract. It makes more sense to take him if Fassnacht was to leave.
  2. This seems unlikely. Quality wise he seems fine, if we do not go up. Even if we stay in the championship he is 26, after a big wage and likely to impede the development of Kamara, so unless more players are leaving than we know about it seems unlikely.
  3. Be careful, positive comments about Adam tend to sporn an exponential increase in negative threads about Adam. Probably suggesting replacing him with one of Dwight Gayle / Bereton / Adams / Armstrong as they had a great season a number of years ago and might be available on the cheap.
  4. Monty Python springs to mind something about not being a Messiah, instead and being a very naughty boy.
  5. I do not want him gone, I like him and think he fostered a great team spirit and had a clear footballing philosophy. I think he will go as Knapper will want someone who he feels plays football the way he wants and supports his approach and decisions. I suspect if you spoke to him privately, David probably would prefer to move on as the gap between the two is pretty clear, based on what David says.
  6. My vote goes for Todd, obviously a local boy, and I really wish him well. He showed flashes of ability but the idea that he was performing at the level of a top premiership player, I just couldn’t see it. So a good player, but not close to being as impactful as his reputation suggested.
  7. Maupay might be a replacement for Barnes, if we need someone to wind up the opposition, not sure he brings a genuine threat - he will be very expensive. When he was at Everton, he only scored 1 in 29 games. Admittedly he has improved at Brentford this season, but that is in a team creating a lot of chances. I am expecting us to have a tough time creating if we go up. Most importantly I think we need a hard working replacement for Sargent (in case of injury - we are toothless without him even at Championship level)
  8. I would welcome Adam back, if we went up Knapper has a huge task, we need a new defence, a replacement for Barnes, and a CDM, plus some shrewd squad fillers. It would fascinating to see his wish list for the promotion option, I suspect promotion would mess up his club reorganisation plans.
  9. Portugal - Pinto France - Anselin Germany - Zimmerman Spain - Pacheco Netherlands - Krul Belgium - Nizet Poland - Placheta Noway - Tettey Sweden - Svenson Finland - Pukki Brazil- Sara Argentina - Buendia
  10. For me this is the point, Wagner isn’t blooding the youngsters and doesn’t fancy Knappers loan. Can only end badly for us, especially if Wagner stays.
  11. Lets all sing together, play up the sky blues. com’ on Cov
  12. Perhaps as a momento at the Milan or Rome derby. After that the purchaser needs to be banned from all forms of football for at least 3 months.
  13. Adam Idah did not publically run his team down, and let’s be honest he was great against West Ham in the premiership, and has simply looked like a player who needed a positive run of games for several years. TC is talented but he had a corrosive effect on the club for a long time. A real shame and I hope he does well in the rest of his career but I am prefer Adam and genuinely hope his career kicks on.
  14. It is less about the points total now (Although we do need enough), more about the momentum. The one to watch is Sargent, if a weeks rest would make a significant difference to his recovery I would do it, if not keep up the performances.
  15. I can’t see him wanting to return. He got very little used a scapegoat by a significant number of fans. It is also an easier league.
  16. He is one of the best people in the country at being a referee, although he may make a decision or two we disagree with, he will make those decisions better than over 60M other people in our country would.
  17. It is interesting to watch, he has been really effective, and done it in a professional well organised way. Showing lots of potential. I think he will leave whether Ipswich are promoted or not. His cache is unlikely to ever be higher. i had been thinking he may go abroad, Rangers or possibly the a German side. It would be a huge step to go to United and I doubt the fans would be very impressed.
  18. Personally it is a wider discussion about the squad than just Dimi v Sam. I assume we have been talking with other players ourselves and we also have the young lad Lima (Sorry.I meant Montoia) coming through. Personally I am comfortable that we have a plan although I would like Sam to stay. I think he is a competent left back, and his heading ability gives us an added threat.
  19. I still think we have to perform well to qualify for the playoffs, it isn’t going to be easy and only 6th is realistic - hope I am wrong. Once we are there, I genuinely would want Ipswich, I think they are the weakest of the top three. Then a final against WBA would be my preference. The way things are going, I am expecting Leicester, and if we get through that Southampton. These would both be difficult.
  20. It will be fascinating to see how he does, he is having good season, is he proving more effective than Bali did last season?
  21. I agree, better to help them, although sadly there does need to be an element of punishment to show people who don’t breathe rules that they aren’t being treated unfair. A reduced punishment with 75% suspended on the basis that they go into a treatment programme would surely help.
  22. An ‘English’ anthem, and one which avoids too many references to the past, and celebrates what could be would be awesome.
  23. These Celtic links are pointless, they do not seem to have the cash to back up their amibition. If Idah leaves for less than 10M why are we doing business with them? A replacement will cost more.
  24. Absolutely he said he wasn’t interested in woman’s football and suggested it wasn’t very good. I am not suggesting it was anywhere near as bad as his recent comments and the issue is that he is a director of an organisation which is trying to grow the Women’s game. He is entitled to say what he thinks, but shouldn’t say so whilst he is DOF at a club trying to grow its women’s side, who are paying him a significant amount of cash.
