  1. Maybe Batth is another example of our woeful recruitment policy and isn’t good enough or fit enough (mentally/physically) to start. Fringe player’s reputations always grow when the team are struggling. It’s entirely possible Batth is as useless as the rest of them.
  2. 2008-9 vibes are intensifying. Neil Adams to take “temporary” charge.
  3. Well, the issue for me is more about who will decide how to spend the money we get for these players, and who they will choose to buy. On the overall basis of the recruitment during our last three seasons, I wouldn’t trust this lot with the contents of my children’s piggy bank.
  4. Cracking game with three excellent goals, a couple of comedy goals, and a great afternoon out. 3-2 after twenty minutes, I think the occasion might have made for a nervous start. Second half was much more measured and composed. Bit annoyed by the constant playing of music whenever the ball went dead, but it was a fun afternoon and great to see and hear over 7,000 in the stadium. More noise than some of the men’s recent home games and plenty to cheer about. Norwich’s 3rd and 5th goals were beautiful and Ashford’s 3rd was also well taken.
  5. Not to forget Norwich City Women 5-3 Ashford Town, 4-3 at half time, 7,500 in attendance. Great to see the ladies win their first home game at Carrow Road!
  6. Bielsa, please. I shall look forward to watching the Norwich City players cleaning the Castle Mall toilets as a team building exercise.
  7. At first I thought he was a major disappointment, but he looks to have a kernel of talent and whatever’s been said to him in private has got him firing on all cylinders. Not sure he’ll ever be captain but he’s a fine addition to the squad in general.
  8. It is quite rude really, and it's not as if the MotD team aren't connected to enough people in football to have been able to find out how to pronounce the lad's name properly if they'd really been bothered about it, so it's just a mixture of laziness and arrogance.
  9. FWIW, it's the club my two lads play for, and they are a great little grass roots club who really go for inclusivity and making all players welcome regardless of ability. Makes me wish I was thirty-five years younger.
  10. I must admit to being fairly ignorant about Dean Smith before he suddenly became available, but what I've heard and seen so far does give me the hope that our season is far from the write off it appeared to be, and that we'll be scrapping until the very end. I like him a lot more than I thought I would.
  11. I'm expecting big things tonight from the Home Bargains version of Dirk Kuyt. As the Beatles said, I've Got a Feeling...
  12. I was at Horsford first school with a kid called Chris Sutton. He did okay.
  13. Well, we have to consider that this isn’t a squad player or someone we bought in the Championship. He was signed specifically to improve our attacking options against premier league teams. By that measure, he is a complete failure. His dribbling and control is sub standard, his shooting is powder puff, his crossing is purely “hit and hope”, and I’ve seen moles with more aerial threat. RvW was the more accomplished player. I don’t mean that as praise.
  14. Here we go, everyone forward, lump it in there, Hanley header, 2-1
  15. People were comparing Sargent to Dirk Kuyt a couple of weeks ago.
  16. 4-4-2 AND GET INTO THEM EARLY THEY DON'T LIKE IT UP 'EM WE DON'T NEED NO TACTICS, JUST PRIDE AND PASSION
  17. I will be delighted if Sargent turns out to be 75% of the player Grant Holt was, and hope that you are correct. It is probably fair to say we haven't seen the best of him yet.
