  1. Made three excellent saves today, not including the penalty save which changed the momentum of the match. Could have done better with the first, as could Boro’s keeper with our third. Looked more assured today to my eyes anyway.
  2. Looked like a straightforward yellow card to me. It’s telling that none of the opposition players, who were around the referee when the foul was made, started hounding the ref for a red card. Wouldn’t say the referee covered himself in glory in general.
  3. The new playing style hasn’t stuck with the players yet and I don’t see where the goal threat will come from. It’s the recipe that turns possible wins into draws and possible draws into defeats. If the window closes without any genuinely good “here and now” players (rather than signing prospects for 2-3 years time, most of which we inevitably give up on), we will be lower mid table at best.
  4. Maybe Batth is another example of our woeful recruitment policy and isn’t good enough or fit enough (mentally/physically) to start. Fringe player’s reputations always grow when the team are struggling. It’s entirely possible Batth is as useless as the rest of them.
  5. 2008-9 vibes are intensifying. Neil Adams to take “temporary” charge.
  6. Well, the issue for me is more about who will decide how to spend the money we get for these players, and who they will choose to buy. On the overall basis of the recruitment during our last three seasons, I wouldn’t trust this lot with the contents of my children’s piggy bank.
  7. Cracking game with three excellent goals, a couple of comedy goals, and a great afternoon out. 3-2 after twenty minutes, I think the occasion might have made for a nervous start. Second half was much more measured and composed. Bit annoyed by the constant playing of music whenever the ball went dead, but it was a fun afternoon and great to see and hear over 7,000 in the stadium. More noise than some of the men’s recent home games and plenty to cheer about. Norwich’s 3rd and 5th goals were beautiful and Ashford’s 3rd was also well taken.
  8. Not to forget Norwich City Women 5-3 Ashford Town, 4-3 at half time, 7,500 in attendance. Great to see the ladies win their first home game at Carrow Road!
  9. Bielsa, please. I shall look forward to watching the Norwich City players cleaning the Castle Mall toilets as a team building exercise.
  10. At first I thought he was a major disappointment, but he looks to have a kernel of talent and whatever’s been said to him in private has got him firing on all cylinders. Not sure he’ll ever be captain but he’s a fine addition to the squad in general.
