  1. Not for me, Jeff. Greenwood lacked the work rate that would have seen him become anything close to Kane. Suspect Ollie Watkins is the next best option. Maybe see how Ivan Toney is after his suspension too.
  2. What an absolute load of nonsense. And "Basildon Birds" is sexist.
  3. Honestly, it's just a football rivalry you don't have to question the honesty and decency of every Ipswich fan just because they're an Ipswich fan 😂
  4. His English is superb considering he arrived here entirely unable to speak the language.
  5. If he is past his more persistent long term injuries (not the hamstring strains mentioned above) then I'm really pleased for him. He's a great player and from everything I've read a true pro. He deserves a bit more luck in his career.
  6. It's a really interesting question. I get the feeling the sporting director is in charge of the bigger picture. Setting out a head coach who will play in the manner the sporting director would generally like and then doing everything they can to provide the head coach with the resources needed to be successful, be that through player recruitment or development through a youth team set up to provide the production line of players. The head coach is then tasked with the day to day stuff. Coaching, team and player management, in charge of setting the team out. I would expect that the SD sets the tone for the HC to follow. The HC then sorts the rest of it all out.
  7. Of course he's wrong. The reason he's still at the club are plain to see and have nothing to do with Knapper's predisposition to stats. Wagner can consider himself exceptionally fortunate he's at the club at a time where change above his position has given him a second chance.
  8. You keep saying you're a fan of this club. If that was true you wouldn't be saying these really stupid things.
  9. Wasn't quick enough or strong enough to succeed in the premier league. Ligue 1 a much different affair which is why PSG won't ever succeed in Europe.
  10. The guy has been in post for less than one day. I doubt even Knapper knows how it's going to play out. Fans need to be patient.
  11. A good podcast. Some interesting lines (eg Connor revealed Graham Potter was Ben Knapper's coach at University) and interesting the divergence of views between the three of them. Worth a listen.
  12. For me, one of three scenarios are likely to play out. No matter what, I would expect Knapper to spend this week getting his feet under the table, getting to know people and do a lot of watching. 1. If Knapper wants to bring his own people in as soon as possible, changes are likely to be made. Given he has only been speaking from a position of authority at the club since today, I suspect those he wants to bring in are likely only negotiating with the club today. 2. If Knapper wants a more thorough understanding of where the club is and wants to see it all at a more detailed level - I suspect the status quo will be maintained with perhaps a fresh review before January. 3. If Knapper wants a more prolonged period to introduce his own changes, then I suspect he'll wait until the end of the season. At this point - is it worth bringing a new manager in? Will anyone be able to do better? What I don't think will happen is that anyone will be sacked based on performances prior to this point. If Knapper wants his own players in, I suspect this will be framed as this rather than based on performance to date. I can't imagine it will be helpful to come in wielding the axe and then saying to the survivors, "Clean slate!". So yeah. I suspect I'll start keeping an eye on things from the end of the week onwards.
  13. I suspect people imagine Knapper just turning up at Colney this morning, walking around the facilities while pointing at people going, "You're fired". Would imagine he'll take a few days before anything happens.
  14. Is cake and tinned fish a midlands thing then?
  15. So you don't care about me but care enough to think of me as whatever that word is? You are just a walking contradiction of a man aren't you?
  16. Given you've posted more than anyone else in this "silly topic", I'm finding it hard to take your views with any credence whatsoever.
  17. Bit too much to drink last night?
  18. For what it's worth, I've very much soured on him and his legacy over the last month; but I do hope he's remembered for the good things he did at this club rather than the (rather substantial) failings.

  20. He won't be going anywhere until Knapper starts on Monday at the very earliest.
  21. Honestly, the state of you. What exactly is being woke? You identify it as being "far left"; exactly what is your reason to think this club is "far left"? I suspect you're one of those ****ing idiots who has a **** over a poster of Suella Braverman on the wall and think the cenotaph is in real danger because Tommy Robinson says so.
