  1. Got to think that AV would want to put one past Leeds, keeping their unbeaten run going and keeping Leeds' losing streak going at the same time. They may rest players against us? Not sure on that one, double edged sword. Players will tell you they want to keep playing. They have a rhythm going. Look at what has happened to us when just Emi was taken out - even when putting him back in again. Probably not the best prep for the playoffs. But I guess you weigh that against risk of suspensions/injury/fatigue. Dean Smith is the only one who knows the answers.
  2. Not sure, but sense some bias toward Mr Tettey regarding this poster...
  3. One poster should consider themselves quite the nostradamus! Posted October 25, 2018 We'll finish on 85 points on current PPG.
  4. This assumes we have lost to Blackburn, Leeds have defeated Villa. Some whopping "IFS" in there. Let's say we buck against our usual trend and win on Saturday and then I'll be happy to resume normal service and draw against Villa.
  5. Call up Chris Wilder and ask if he would swap points and fixtures with us. Bet he bites your bloody hand off if you could have realistically give it to him.
  6. Ok. So for us not to be promoted from here we need to lose back to back games (has not happened since August) be beaten at home by two goals or more (happened once all season) be beaten away by two goals or more (has happened once this season). This effectively would mean we finish the season worse than we started it. We would record 25% of our total losses in two games for the season AND Leeds need to win at home to a team that is on the leagues longest winning streak (make no bones about it, Villa will come for Leeds as they are almost guaranteed to be a playoff rival) by at least 2 goals and defeat admittedly the worst team in the division away by 5 goals. Leeds have not done this at all this season! Home or Away. How on earth are there people who think we are not promoted? Mystifying.
  7. Thanks blademark. Have been impressed with how your lads have coped since the massive disappointment against millwall. Honestly thought that was your chances for autos pretty much done for. Great credit to your players and manager for putting that behind you. Look forward to meeting you in the PL next year!
  8. You know scum might actually try in the last two. Chance to not finish dead last and really can't harm us now as title is nice to have but not necessary.
  9. It's 6. Stick that up yer squeaky bum!!
  10. For the first time I am really concerned. I do not think that Sheffield will drop any points now which means we need 4 points to secure the title, possibly even promotion. That means having to get something from villa and that is not a position I wanted us to be in.
  11. I wake up from my 40 year coma and realise I am a binner. Worsist.
  12. I think it's all cantwells fault. We should have started ubuntu against reading and wigan and we would have had no bad gateways in either match.
  13. I will not take credit for this one as it is in another thread about this very thing. But my favourite one I saw on that thread went something like this: "The only shot that went right through me was a shot of a stiepermann." Props to whoever came up with that one and very apt after Friday's effort.
  14. You only ever hear about the bad gateways. The good gateways get no press at all...
  15. Probably most players on contracts for lower sums given their relatively low key reputations when they came here. Doubling would probably place them in the same category as most Villa or Derby players now. More than justified in my opinion. They have been stellar this season. Wonder if this would apply to players like Klose whose wages would be quite high already?
  16. Disappointed with Brucies comments really. The ref was poor for both teams but vrancic was fouled he made the most of it. But he was fouled.
  17. His save against forestieris second thunderbolt was top class. He's outstretched arm had to be iron bar otherwise that gets flapped into the corner of the net. His initial save against fletcher was excellent too. He has played a massive part in us securing these last to draws.
  18. Well their 4-0 to Preston was extremely well timed. Not beat by more than 3 goals all season, but now no one will question when Leeds and sheff Utd pump them by 6 in their games. They will just point to this result and say "see we are that crap".
  19. It was a worldie for sure. I just shrugged. What can you do against that? We will probably see a few of those fly into our net next season to be fair.
  20. Other than the goal, well taken as it was, he did not produce. Tried to take on too many men and often gave the ball away. However, I think is more to do with his having started 20 something matches in a row in a role that requires a lot of physicality. I am only suggesting he needs a rest not long term replacement.
