1.
In fairness, on paper we have a decent squad - we shew that against Barnsley.
Not quite.  We''re still short at Centre Back, and we haven''t got Grounds for long.  The striking situation is a bit thin as well.  We certainly need an extra body in those areas, because if injuries or suspension strike, we''ve got very little back up. Midfield is okay though.  Plenty of options even if we lose the odd player.
 2. Bruce, Williams, Drinkell and Gordon got the goals in the 1986 game.  I think we were two down at one stage.
 3. Is Flecky still there?  Knew he joined to do some scouting a couple of years ago, but have not heard his name in a while. Chippy was some player.  I wish he was still young enough to put in the side.
 4.
If you were the CEO, would you let a ''temporary'' manager (in theory only in charge for 6 months) sign permanent players to a 2 or 3 year contract? Just curious as to people''s views.
In all honesty, no.  That''s one reason why we''ll only get loan players (the other being that we have no money).  Loans don''t bother me at this stage - its more the worry if they''re good enough and injury free.
 5.
We had a player who could to this inthe premier league once... Oddly enough, that''s one of only about two goals that I can remember him scoring for us!
Not far off AJ.  He scored 5 in total.
 6.
The main problem with the Barclay End is that this season all the goals seem to be scored at the River End - though we did get a great view of Crofty''s screamer and Patty''s shinner against the Binners.
Its okay.  I''m used to it as Norwich NEVER score at the Barclay End when I go!
 7. I might well do, although weighing up my options.  I went there a few times during the golden period of the early 90''s and enjoyed it, but was always a lower Barclay Boy.   Have spent a long time in the Snakepit, but some of the decent regulars where I sit have gone and the people in their place (one especially) aren''t that pleasant.  Change as good as a rest maybe? Saw Andy Marshall''s home debut there.  Still one of my favourite matches of that era (despite what he did later...)
 8. I''d be curious for any info too, as I''m thinking of moving seats, and haven''t been in there for a game in about 15 years.  Is it a decent place to sit in general?  Any info would be good.
 9. I''m fairly confident of a win.  Not sure the new manager effect will help Southampton.  They''re in too much of a mess right now on and off the pitch, and its the not quite the same situation Forest were in.  I reckon Donny on Friday is a tougher game than this one.
 10.
We need to get real here as we approach the end of the transfer window. The facts: Gunn has said ''looking at loan players'' Doncaster has said ''transfer window only applies to Premier League, we can do business afte January'' Foulger has said ''the club is busting its gut and he''s talked to half a dozen investors to try to source a little money for players''   I read those sentiments and I ain''t holding my breath for Jan 31st. Am I wrong? Do you know something I don''t?
I doubt you are wrong, and lets face it, that''s not much of a surprise.  I''m not really expecting any permanent signings and we''ll get two or three loans at best, even after the 31st.  We''re generally going to have to muddle through with what we have.
 11. I read these ages ago and they''re hilarious.  Love the Wogan skit! [:D]
 12. I actually don''t blame their fans.  Compared to our problems, their club is in a far far worse state than ours.  Rupert Lowe seems to be a latter day version of Robert Chase!
 13. They''re just preparing the kids for Sky''s kick off times!  [:)]
 14.
Would be a brilliant addition if we can afford him.  Not getting him last year was a huge mistake and everyone we''ve bought/loaned since has not matched his standards.
Tiny that is.  Not Jerome.

 16. I still miss Holty.  [:(]  We''ve never replaced him at Championship level.
 17. I have a feeling Clark would have stepped in and put his name forward for the job. Another question is that if Clark was still here, would Roeder have been sacked anyway?  I''m sure Doncaster said on GR''s departure it was only in the last few weeks that Roeder''s relationship with the club had deteriorated.  Since Clark left?
 18. Obviously his time has gone, but it shows the affection people have that his name still comes up when there''s a vacancy. The bit on the centenary vid after the Inter game where he turns away from camera, his voice beginning to crack, always cuts me up. [:''(]
 19.
I always liked McVeigh and think on his day he was one of the better players seen here in the last 10 years. Sadly, he just didn''t seem to be bothered for much of his final 3 years here. I am a little surprised that no-one else will take a punt on him. As for Martin, he looked the part during his first dozen or so games here but once he got his 3 year contract he seemed to lose interest. The decision to send him out on loan was one of the few Roeder got right. He has knocked in a few goals at Luton but you would have expected a proper bona fide championship striker to have knocked in 20 odd goals already no matter who he is playing for!
I recently watched the highlights of the Play-Off and Promotion season for the first time in a long while, and had genuinely forgotten how good McVeigh was.  He could play out wide and up front.  He was skilful on the ball, scored spectacular goals, and got a suprising amount with his head - incredible considering his size and the amount of big lads the championship possesses.  Yet he seemed to be fizzling out around the age of 27 when he still had plenty to offer. I''m not convinced Martin will come back here.  Spillane perhaps, but it could depend on what division we''re in...
 20. C''MON C''MON!  I have to get to work!!!  Headphones on methinks.
 21.

This is all very exciting.  I''m not going to get any work done before lunchtime now.
Me neither. Fancy a pint? [:P] haha
I might need a stiff drink in 10 minutes!!!

 23.

had he never of managed us we''d be remembering Meggo for the player he was.. a decent pro and one of the reasons we got into europe... not as the plonker that managed us. jas :)
I do remember him for the player he was. A distinctly average hoofer and up there as one of the dirtiest players to ever wear the yellow shirt. His management style (or lack of) shouldn''t have come as a suprise. To compare his playing career with City to Gunny''s is an insult to the big man.
Bit harsh.  Thought ''General'' Megson produced some terrific displays when he was with us.  Was an absolute powerhouse in the season we came 3rd and was superb in Europe against Vitesse at home, and Inter away He was awful as manager though, but even he admits now that he made mistakes and that circumstances behind the scenes didn''t help.  Not done too badly for himself since then.
 24. Strikers obviously.  A big man definitely and maybe another if Lupoli doesn''t stay. Full backs.  I''m not confident in any of them at the moment, but with four on our books, I doubt anybody will come in for now. Centre backs.  One more, but if Grounds doesn''t extend his loan then make it two.
