1. For me at the mo, Croft, Doc, Clingan.  Marshall has dropped out of the running.
 2.
I still have to say i still cant get my head around how Charlton have managed to get themselves in such a mess and im guessing they are still getting parachute payments as its only their second season down.
Its turning out that Charlton weren''t the well run club we always thought they were.  A huge amount of their income went straight into wages and they''ve paid off 3 managers in less than two years.  They''ve made some pretty bad buys too.
 3.
And for further value for money......"Cureton issues warning to Norwich"[;)] http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/norwich/7899983.stm Yet another player in the media this week stating the bleedin obvious.......
He''s done an awful lot of talking since Glenn Roeder left.  Not much else though.
 4.
It would be typical Norwich though wouldnt it?!
Not really.  We went top of the league at Portman Road.  We avoided going bottom in 2005 when Hucks came off the bench to score.  Our record there was pretty good until recently. C''mon.  We all know Richard Wright is going to miskick the ball as it trickles under his foot in the dying minutes.  Meanwhile Gunny looks on with a wry smile.  Karma... [;)]
 5. I reckon Hull must be wondering what on earth they''ve done with Jimmy Bullard.  £5m for somebody who didn''t have long left on his contract and had a cruciate knee problem previously.  Now he''s out for the season after 36 mins.  James Beattie is on a VERY high wage at Stoke too.  Trust me on that one.  The Prem can do strange things to clubs. If those guys come down, they could struggle the same as us, Soton, Watford, Charlton, etc.  Mind you, if Spurs or Newcastle come down, it may be just as bad!
 6. It will be quite high initially, because of the cheap tickets and because the die-hards will renew at the first opportunity anyway.  Not sure how much of an indication that is of the potential final figure.  The real crunch comes during the ''second phase'' after the 28th.
 7. There''s still a long way to go, and lots of twists to come.  I think its going to be another close finish like last season with a team going down on another high points tally.  Still reckon we may just scrape through. Its the bigger picture at Carrow Road that worries me though.  [:(]
 8.
Lupoli didn''t get a look in or a run in the team for the simple reason he was his attitude was poor and he was the most lazy player to ever wear a Norwich shirt
The most lazy ever?  Not surprising considering he spent more time on the bench than on the pitch.
 9.
Felt a bit sorry for Jarrett. Never like seeing an ex-canary do something wrong. But well done luton!! I might go and see them
I didn''t even realise till tonight that he was at Brighton.  He''s catching up Paul Dalglish for number of clubs played!
 10.
Cant believe what I heard on TV tonight whilst watching the above game, that the police had dictated what end the penalties were to be taken, and they were taken at the home end.  What ever happened to the flick of the coin What is the game coming too......
I''m sure that''s happened before, but I just can''t think what match it was.  Seems a strange decision.
 11. A good friend of mine is a Luton fan.  May just hitch a ride to Wembley to watch the old boys in action!
 12. Could well be the end for Sturrock tonight.  I actually do feel a bit sorry for him, as he''s a decent guy and hasn''t been well, but its all falling apart somewhat for his side. Plymouth beginning to look as awful as they did when we beat them in September.
 13.

But I''ve seen plenty of constructive, rational posts about the board''s failings with terse replies along the lines of "get behind the team" and suggestions of disloyalty, not being a "true fan", etc.  That annoys me as much as the doom-merchants. As you say though, it works both ways.
I quite honestly remember any posts like this, but I''m more than willing to admit that I may have forgotten (or subconsciously ignored) them. I''d be interested if you could quote any? I have seen people (me included) get exasperated with the constant iteration of opinion masquerading as facts. Very few (if any) of us know much about what lies behind the goings on at Board level. It strikes me that if you don''t feel like murdering one or more of the current management team then you''re a "Board Apologist". I think most of us just feel sad.
To be honest, I don''t think I have the willpower to trawl through the threads and find them.  Most of them are depressing as it is!
 14.
Its because of the little club syndrome , most look at the fixtures and say we will get a result at Blackpool for the same reason but Blackpool are getting some very good results lately and beat Birmingham at home the other week so are very capable of beating us .
Blackpool blow hot and cold.  Two stinkers at home to Donny and QPR but as you say, beat Birmingham at home and also picked up points at Ipswich and Palace (the latter with ten men for 87 minutes).  They don''t appear to be a team in freefall, unlike Plymouth.

As you say though, it works both ways.
I think some of that may be frustration at the same old points being trotted out 20 times a day by the same people. Most people with more than a passing interest in the fortunes of NCFC are all too aware of the board''s failings. The "get behind the team" thing is a seperate issue in my opinion though. It should be a given. Whatever your thoughts on the state of the club, it''s hard to see a rational argument against that sentiment, especially now. We really are up a famous brown creek without a propulsion device. The only thing we can do as fans attending games between now and May is to give it our all and hope we manage to drag the team over the finishing line the right side of the bottom 3.
My bugbear is more a case of people using the "get behind the team" argument on a thread that doesn''t warrant it and towards somebody with a valid point.  I''d like to think on a matchday, everybody on here does get behind them.  If they don''t, they shouldn''t be going.
 16.
Why do so many posters on here think they will finish below us? They have just won 6 out of there last 7 games,we have won 8 all season!
I had Donny to stay up at the start of the season.  Defensively, they''ve been sound and were playing some decent football long before Christmas.  They just needed to start scoring and kill teams off which is what they''re doing now.  Thought they were very unlucky when we beat them at Carrow Road. They''ll survive unless injuries kick in.
 17.
just out of interest what sort of reception will you give bell when he returns? for me he showed absoulutely no commitment or loyalty and jumped ship at the first oppurtunity, so i will be booing him and hope he gets a real hot reception and hides away like a lost little boy
Hardly saw the bloke play.  Still don''t know if he was any good or not! I reckon 4 points from 6 out of those two games.
 18.
Why is it that so many of the staunchly anti-board contingent on here find it difficult or indeed impossible to have a discussion with anyone who holds even a slightly differing view? I''d put myself in the "disappointed but what can we realistically do?" bracket. I can point to number of decisions made by the current custodians of the club that I find misguided or even plain daft. I do recognise though  that a takeover would not necessarilary mean streets paved with gold leading to a land of milk and honey. It would seem that by holding this opinion a certain vocal minority would label me a "Delia lover" or "apologist for the failings of the board" and stuff like "it''s people like you that are to blame for our position" None of the above are correct, but people spouting such nonsense are divisive and actually make me less likely to move towards their position. If we could have discussions from different points of view without the rules of engagement coming straight from GW Bush school of debate (you''re either with us or against us), a lot more people might reach a consensus, and at the very least there would be less insults flying around between us. We do, after all have the support of a great club in common. Can we all think a little before we type? I include myself in this as it obviously works both ways.
But I''ve seen plenty of constructive, rational posts about the board''s failings with terse replies along the lines of "get behind the team" and suggestions of disloyalty, not being a "true fan", etc.  That annoys me as much as the doom-merchants. 19.
Too many new supporters expecting too much. We are at best a average Championship side who punched well above our weight for one season.
I sincerely hope you only mean the current side and not the club as a whole.  If its the latter than your expectations are pretty low by anybody''s standards. And we were pretty darn good between 2001 and 2005.  Not just one season.
 20. Was he actually on our books?  Can''t find any record anywhere.
 21.
STEVE WRIGHT IN THE AFTERNOON (BBC RADIO 2)   Wright: Johnny Weissmuller died on this day. Which jungle-swinging   character clad only in a loin cloth did he play?   Contestant: Jesus.
Genius! [Y]
 22.

For all those saying that selling Lewis was a mistake; http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/peterborough_united/7890710.stm Looks like a good bit of business cashing in on him......
Because he''s had a couple of bad games?  All keepers go through it.  Even Greeno and Gunny did early in their careers.
But they bounced back. Lets see what Lewis does.
Fair enough - time will tell.  Some keepers certainly never recover.  Richard Wright for one, and going much further back, talents like Ian Andrews and Mervyn Day slipped away after initial brilliance. Hope Joe recovers his form.  Norwich player or not, I''d quite like to see a Norfolk lad do well for himself.

 24. Some good posts on this thread.  Regarding Crouch, I was surprised at the time we didn''t get him, but even so that first few months of the season cost us as we intially tried to muddle along with Doherty up front, along with the inexperience of McKenzie and an unfit Svennson.  There were games when we played well but couldn''t convert draws into wins.  By the time Ashton arrived, we had too much ground to make up.  All we needed was to get an extra body in up front and we didn''t. And that is the problem in general.  Norwich have displayed a ''make-do'' attitude for all of the last few years.  Remember when Worthy wanted Steve Howard to partner Earnie?  When Glenn wanted Martin Taylor?  Two big calls that were missed and may well have changed the course of our history of our club and both those managers.  Instead we have always displayed the short-termism that is so prevelant now.  A quick loan is seen to fix the problem instead - except it is merely papering over the cracks. Its really come back to haunt us now and will for some time regardless of what happens against Burnley this Saturday or whatever league we''re in next season.  I certainly don''t blame Gunny and co for this mess.
