  1. I think the great thing is, we haven't had games (yet) where a team has been able to stop us from creating or scoring chances. Bristol previously had a decent defensive record, Sheff Utd, Leeds, West Brom - all have pretty good defences. Even at Preston, we created so many chances - on another night, we'd have won comfortably there as well. Of all the remaining games, only Middlesbrough have what I would call a strong defence. Keeping everyone fit is important - but then, we have Rhodes, Cantwell, Klose, Hanley, Leitner, Tettey and Vrancic all waiting to come back in if needed.
  2. Lol - I thought it was Thursday today! 🙈
  3. Leeds played last night and have WBA on Friday - 2 games in 3 days...
  4. And Mr Bassong if rumours are to be believed... The nonsense was that the decision should have been taken months earlier...
  5. I guess they didn't use the Pride of Anglia flag on Saturday as they used the One City Strong letters (personally, I'm not a fan of that slogan). Those letters are on long sticks so I assume they couldn't be seen if the big flag was used as well. There's a big Fashanu flag as well - is that only used on Rainbow laces week? I'm sure it takes lots of organising and is looking really impressive - and shame on those who are trying to take the flags home.
  6. The 'scarves up' for OTBC seems to have evolved this season as a by product of the flags etc in the Barclay Lower and a bit of social media sharing. I like that it's become 'a thing' - Leeds had a good scarf twirling song before the start of the game. Lincoln have an air raid warning horn for when they get a corner - bit extreme! I don't like the forced stuff during the game, but this year, there's definitely been much more togetherness and support from the crowd when things haven't been going our way. Sheff U and for spells on Saturday, the crowd did lift and inspire the team - and the best example was from the Stoke defeat, when the team were applauded off after a defeat. I love Buendia doing a bit of arm waving as well, he's such a passionate player - his reaction to being subbed is brilliant.
  7. Yes, a conundrum - McLean, Leitner or Vrancic - all fit and available (though Farke says that Leitner's less likely as he's effectively been out for 3 months). Equally, Klose's fit, so we have all our CBs fit for the first time in ages. Stiepermann has had a minor hamstring injury, but is expected to play. Wonder how he'll play it...
  8. I did indeed Til. I don't want to keep talking about him, but I'm angry that he and his players were so clearly in the wrong in the whole situation, all brought about with a knee high foul on Aarons. And he is showing (publicly), that he has no remorse or regret for what he did and would do the same again. If a criminal said that in court, the judge would probably double his sentence. They will live to regret that when he walks out of the job...
  9. Sadly Ridgeman, the ref saw both fouls and deemed them worth a yellow card. There’s nothing the FA or EFL can do about that without undermining the ref, which they’ll never do. I also notice that Mr Lambert continues to protest that he “would do the same again” with complete disregard or remorse for his actions or for the punishment he has been given. Isn’t that bringing the game into disrepute?
  10. 2 match touchline ban for Lambert. Does that mean he's allowed to be in the changing room before, during and after and then sit in the director's box on his phone to the dugout during the match?
  11. In my opinion, Alex couldn't cope with the man management side of things - he struggled with big characters, or those who thought they were 'big' players. He seemed to ostracise players rather than building his squad around them. I suspect some of the senior players stopped playing for him towards the end. Players like Maddison (who it turns out was actually quite good!) weren't given a chance. As has been said, his transfer / scouting left a lot to be desired but is no doubt doing a good job at Preston. Without offence to Preston, the expectations here are that we should be challenging for promotion every year.
  12. Still can't believe there's no headers... left foot, right foot, chest (not a proper goal...) and one with his... ahem, lower midriff.
  13. Very good point about our Championship squad in League 1, which I believe he himself said in the press conferences before our game. I can't believe his performance - which is worse than Hurst's - isn't being questioned. Or is it just resignation that relegation was inevitable from the day he was appointed?
  14. I thought that too. Wrestling with the fact that Hearts will probably be offering him less than 25% of what he's currently earning from us. Here's another angle on it: https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/teams/hearts/why-would-i-not-try-it-hearts-striker-steven-naismith-on-possible-mls-switch-1-4875163
  15. Don't concede many do they? 9 in all those games - 2 of which we scored, and Ipswich got 2 of the others, so they can't be that good!
  16. I can't help but think it would have all gone away if Bielsa had just said 'sorry, I hadn't realised that this isn't OK in England', rather than setting up a long, protracted and totally bizarre presentation to justify himself and his club.
  17. Couple of huge games next weekend - ours and Sheffield United v West Brom. Leeds have Bolton at home. Then it’s Leeds v West Brom the following weekend. We could be battling it out with West Brom rather than Leeds and the Blades by then.
  18. The seats I saw were in the lower tier, so not very high up at all, but hopefully you'll still enjoy it from where you are...
  19. Personally, i don't like the view from so low down, the pitch is almost above you, so it's difficult to get the perspective of where the ball is, especially at the other end of the pitch. There are a couple of individual seats higher up in Block T Lower River End when I looked. You may also find that some become available next week if Bristol send any of their allocation back - mind you, they're going well, so they might sell out. Apologies for the sensible reply!
  20. West Brom website: Dwight Gayle has been suspended for two games by the Football Association after being found guilty of simulation in this week’s 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest. The Club supports Dwight’s view that he was attempting to avoid anticipated challenges in the 89th-minute incident which led to a penalty award for Albion. Although disappointed with the outcome, Albion have regrettably concluded any appeal would be fruitless. Clever wording - enables them/him to say that they don't think he dived without further upsetting the FA.
  21. Sensible piece of refereeing in my view - he saw Rudd punch the ball away (yellow card), then saw the silly push from Aarons (yellow card). Don't like the over-reaction from Rudd, holding his head when Aarons pushed him in the chest. As per the Dwight Gayle thread, I wonder how long it'll be before someone who feigns injury from a shove in the chest gets an FA charge.
  22. Don't think he'll drop Stiepermannm, we need his height - especially against Bolton and to give Krul the option from a long kick when we are unable to play out from the back. I don't think Farke will panic about last night, but the defensive 2 midfielder system didn't work last night and I was confused by the change in system, Aarons, Lewis and Hernandez seemed to get in each other's way.
  23. Go to the planner, on channel 403, select the live game and it'll bring up the other games, then record the one you want.
  24. The two previous cases have resulted in a 2 match ban for the player.
