Adycakes 5 Posted April 27, 2014 On Sky right now, game being played at a very high tempo, makes you wonder why Norwich don''t do the same? Can''t see this remaining goalless, score draw though hopefully!
Yellow Bird 0 Posted April 27, 2014 I just said in another thread that this game was high tempo. Both teams look interested. A draw would be great, but we still have it all to do. I thought we''d be ok yesterday after Hull gave us a bit of a life line. Silly me :)

CanaryOne 0 Posted April 27, 2014 Conor Wickham , i did mention he would have been a good buy when he was out of favour and on loan to Sheff Weds , his goals are sendng us down .
pete 319 Posted April 27, 2014 If Cardiff lose this they will go down so buck your ideas up.

Rogue Baboon 0 Posted April 27, 2014 Bizarre, ludicrous but brilliant refereeing by Dowd
flecky76 0 Posted April 27, 2014 That''s curtains for us. Sunderland ahead of us with 2 home games left. Means we have to get something at Chelsea, otherwise we will face a miracle not to even be down by the time Arsenal come to Carrow Road.We are on the life support machine right now. Fiery Zac 1,066 Posted April 27, 2014 Can someone explain how a penalty can be given after advantage has been played?Yes if Wickham had gone down, it would''ve been a pen, but he didn''t and then messed up the chance. How is that then a penalty and a red card. How has he denied an obvious goal scoring opportunity when a) he wasn''t denied it as he carried on, and b) Wickham himself proved it wasn''t obvious by missing it!It was also a foul outside the box. Boris 56 Posted April 27, 2014 Its amazing how after lost 8 from 9 just before play away at Man City and Chelsea this Sunderland will survive and how they find motivation to fight. They seems doomed after Everton lost how they find this spirit its really amazing...We not have chance any more :/
Yellow Bird 0 Posted April 27, 2014 Should''ve been a sending off and a free kick, not a penalty. Thought we were down. Now I know we''re down :(

Rogue Baboon 0 Posted April 27, 2014 If the player doesn''t pull Wickham, he runs clean through on goal. Because he''s been pulled he is slowed up, players get back and he is forced wide. Therefore he had no advantage from being pulled back, so Dowd was right to pull it back, although shoukdbhave been red/free kick instead of a penaltyAnywhere else on the pitch the ref would have give a free.kick, he let play go on a bit longer to see if he could finish it off anyway. I don''t think I have seen a situation like this before
Rogue Baboon 0 Posted April 27, 2014 Also, he didn''t go down, but that doesn''t make it more/less of a foul if he goes down. The offence should be treated exactly the same

It was also a foul outside the box. That''s the reason you are not a class 1 professional referee. What is an advantage - it''s not in the rule book, it''s a refs discretion to see what develops and call it back if he so wishes. And it was a penalty, contact was made inside the penalty area, and it denied a goal scoring chance - correct decision all round from Dowd, as tightly suggested by all pundits. mrs miggins 0 Posted April 27, 2014 how can it be a penalty when contact was made from outside the box? The defender did persisted until they were inside the box
flecky76 0 Posted April 27, 2014 The rules say a Gould which CONTINUES into the penalty box will result in a penalty. The ref has therefore applied the rules correctly in this instance.
Hairy Canary 704 Posted April 27, 2014 The ref was correct. The foul continued into the box and the tug on his arm stopped him getting a shot off cleanly. After allowing play to continue to see if there was an advantage the penalty was given when there want. Can''t see much wrong with that
damn that Ralph Coates! 47 Posted April 27, 2014 What has Poyet got that Adams hasn''t got??a game in hand? better offensive options? bigger squad? more money? Even with two ex-binners, he''s in a better position...!We have to win at Chelsea and then also beat Arsenal now.

Boris 56 Posted April 27, 2014 We are good at home and Arsenal will use b team but now 3 pts is not enough. How Sunderland win 4 pts in 3 days away at Man City and Chelsea and how they believe after this poor run before that also loosing quite easy at CR :/
