Mervmeister 18 Posted January 27, 2013 Seen quite a few people and rumours going around about simeon jackosn out on loan to derby too. Ifso would leave us mega short unless he has something lined up.
SYG 0 Posted January 27, 2013 I just hope we get two forwards in. DG and RVW will do nicely
chicken 0 Posted January 27, 2013 I think we could be looking at two sorts of striker. One relatively proven one like RVW/Graham/Hooper and then perhaps a cheaper gamble in the sort of player we have been linked with abroad like Kamara. As it is Jackson being here still leaves us short. It''s not like he will come in and score the odd goal or push Holt or Morrison for a starting place.Infact as things stand I would rather play E.Bennett or Snoddy upfront with Holt. whoareyou? 0 Posted January 27, 2013 Of all the names we have been linked with, Danny Graham is the one i would like to see here most of all.
Kirby_86 0 Posted January 27, 2013 Id be delighted if we bought Danny Graham. The clubs needs a welcome timely boost!
Chunky Norwich 0 Posted January 27, 2013 It''s slightly weird that we had a bid accepted over a week ago and not heard anything since. I assume that''s a bad thing but I''ve no real idea as to how football works behind the scenes.I appreciate posting the odds but they don''t really mean anything. They normally shorten the odds when a lot of money starts going down on a certain result
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 2,073 Posted January 27, 2013 I''ve never been quite sure how accurate odds can be layed for transfers?, unless the bookies now all the ins and outs of behind the scenes agents negotiations etc etc?!

Alex Harvey-Jones 0 Posted January 27, 2013 Can we please stop messing around with low bids and actually pay enough to sign someone decent. If we want Hooper then lets pay enough to secure him, if we want RVW then pay the £12m - we''re just trying to sign someone on the cheap. Identify our preferred chocie and buy him. RVW was always going to be expensive - he was recently one of the most highly rated strikers in Europe - never going to be cheap. Strikers are expensive...if we want to compete and stay in the league, stop faffing about and secure a signing otherwise it will be another last minute panic buy on Thursday and not who we really wanted! Mr Brownstone 0 Posted January 27, 2013 We really do have the most *special* bunch of supporters don''t we.We''d be the next Leeds or Portsmouth if it was up to some of you lot.
havemyhowsonit 0 Posted January 27, 2013 Might as well sign big trev. After all he''d probably be the best striker we would ever have signed (by his standards) lolYou really need to change your name superzakwhitbread
4th floor 4 Posted January 27, 2013
We really do have the most *special* bunch of supporters don''t we.We''d be the next Leeds or Portsmouth if it was up to some of you lot.
Totally agree. It''s very easy to get wiped out in what is essentially a big casino, hence the need to be smart when making our bets. It''s the excessive fear of losing (ie relegation) that can make some people a tad irrational.
Highland Canary 78 Posted January 27, 2013 I think that is the point. Our ownership structure is incompatible with PL survival but at least we should still have a team to follow in the Championship rather than doing a Portsmouth.
Jim Smith 2,654 Posted January 27, 2013 Ordinarily I would agree with the cautious approach but I''m afraid here I agree with the post above that the time for penny pinching is over. We desperately need to add a top quality striker whether it''s Hooper, Wolfie or Graham. To get any of these we will have to pay the going rate. If thd going rate for wolfswinkel is too much then find but our budding tactics for Hooper just seemed a bit hopeless to me. If we want him then we are going to have to pay £7 or £8m. Celtic are not going to sell on the cheap. We should either put up the cash or walk away.
Highland Canary 78 Posted January 27, 2013 If we wish to play PL football next season we simply have to put up the cash.
Sing Up The South Stand 0 Posted January 27, 2013 Going by your posts Highland you''d think we were bottom of the league and odds on for going down!
scrappy33 0 Posted January 27, 2013 so no RVW then?
4th floor 4 Posted January 27, 2013 Paying £6-7m for a decent striker who could ordinarily be worth say £3-4m might be worth a gamble to help ensure staying up. But £12m on one player would be too much of a financial risk for a club of Norwich''s means imho. It may come off, it may not. But it would be the football equivalent of ''putting it all on red''. Michael Bates 12 Posted January 27, 2013 I''ve got a feeling that RVW is still very much a potential signing this transfer window. Sporting are desperate for cash and are trying to get more bids in. They have rejected our bid so far but come the dying moments of the window when they realise they NEED THE cash, a slightly improved bid from Norwich will hopefully tempt them into the sale. RVW could do a lot worse than come to Norwich and try and prove his worth in the Premier League!
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 2,073 Posted January 27, 2013 still dont see how odds can be applied to transfers?, he''s either coming or he isn''t , its not a question of luck or chance?if even is you do hold any belief in them, at odds of 10/1 means he''s 10 times less likely to be a Norwich player than being one on Feb 1st......they''re not particularly good?! Sing Up The South Stand 0 Posted January 27, 2013 Seems to be just a money making exercise, with odds influenced by the number of bets, like most....
York Canary 29 Posted January 27, 2013 Graham is probably worth about £5m. If he was £3.5m without Prem exp or Prem goals to his name then he''s surely more after he''s got both those things
