BRUCE GONE

Recommended Posts

Great player for us (and, to be fair ManYoo) but  I''ve never been convinced as a manager, I''m afraid. He''s one of those people like Bryan Robson, Steve Coppell,Lawrie Mc Menemy and Tommy Docherty who have a great reputation as bosses, but it''s not borne out by actual achievements.

Dare I say that a certain Mr P Jewell is looking like he''s going down that road......

On Five Live earlier Pat Murphy seemed to think that Martin O''Neill was in with a good chance of replacing him. Although he also said that if Randy Lerner was at all friendly with Ellis Short (well they are both American I suppose) he wouldn''t exactly be putting in a good word for him. They also interviewed a Sunderland fan who said he would like Nigel Adkins or Paul Lambert [:O]

I would have thought Mr Bruce would make an ideal candidate for the soon to be vacant managers job at poorman road - given the amount of worthless old sh!te he has palmed off onto the paupers over the past few years

Otherwise great memories of being in the Barclay that night as his winning header seemed to be coming straight at me.

A point that has not been lost on a few of our Bin Folk chums. One tweet, from "@bozmanblue" states (and I quote) "he (Bruce) may as well come to #itfc after all we''ve had all the rest of their shite #jewellout" (sic) [:D]

In the early betting our man is a bit of an outsider 25 to 40 /1
ONLY 25 to 40/1...don''t they know who he is or how good he is????? I am insulted, bunch of spivs!
I think it is a reflection on how attractive the opportunity is to him:

Norwich are higher in the table.

He has built his own team at Norwich.

Full support of board and fans at Norwich.

Greater security at Norwich - even if we were to get relegated this season, he will still be given time to get us back up.  At Sunderland, if they are in the relegation area around Feb/March, they will probably change the manager again.

Roeder, has been working with his for his wife in the horse raceing business, I have seen him several times on my travells visiting stables and owners, don''t quote me but it seemed he was trying for his trainers licence,

Hellfire, I feel sorry for the horses !. Can you imagine Horses removing their shoes and creeping past his office if they''ve had a bad days training. Loan horses being brought in and Roedent demanding "When did you last win the Grand National, I must have missed it",. Legendary Horses being humiliated and being sent to the knackers yard . It must be stopped NOW!

I think Hughes would be a good appointment for Sunderland tbh. He didnt make a mess of things at Man City and knows the game well.

Kind of hoped that this may have been left a little longer.

We could have done with the clubs nearer the bottom with managers under pressure to not be given the green light to cut their current manager to look elsewhere. I hope this doesn''t start owners of Blackburn (although his comments to the press are hilarious) looking to get rid of too early. Want the mess they are in to remain upto christmas and then in january if they get someone in new then some time to bed in.

Know Martinez is strongly backed by Wigan, and Coyle is regarded highly at Bolton but we just want them to continue where they are.

This could be a long drawn out process at sunderland and certainly the players have been very flat all year, I would hope that may remain the same. I am sure Sunderland would look at the fact M. Hughes walked out of Fulham supposably for a better deal with a so called bigger club, which never came.

Lets hope this does not start the merri-go-round and that Sunderland draw with Blackburn and Wolves in the upcoming games. I would quite like to see Wolves slip into the quagmire there defending last week was pretty appauling.

Keane is a friend of Sunderland Owner Nial quinn so could be a shoe in...not sure what the ex Ipswich contingent at Sunderland would make of it! it would also seal their relegation as far as im concerned so all the better for us.

LOL Armchair Follower, love it!

Could see Clark as a contender here if and when Lambert leaves us-though as has been said, he''ll be due a top top job the way he is going. If we win tomorrow he will be flavour of the month everywhere and with everyone and the speculation about his future will really start, regardless of what vacancies there may or may not be.

Oh sorry I must have read the signs wrong then, he looked very much at home around the Equine world.

Would love to think that if we lost The Messiah for any reason that O''Neill could step in. Allways a favorite when any manager goes but never materialises. Think he is saving himself for us personally, I mean, who wouldn''t?
