We want Worthy back

Recommended Posts

no... never go back.. Worthy is a disaster... yes he took us up but the end of his tenure here he had lost the plot.... he also took Northern Ireland from dead certs to make euro 2008 to failures who never got near Austria/Switzerland.....

the early years were something special under nigel but his time here was the beginning of the decline we now find ourselves in... it needs someone from outside the club to come in.. some one young and hungry, not a last chancer like Roeder, or someone with no experience like Granty, someone from the lower divisions looking to move up...

No chance - he got lucky with Huckery and then fell to pieces in the Premier League - his poor signings and management were the catalyst for this mess.  The board then appointed a rookie and now have act to stop further rot with a manager who has built a spiritless team of loanees.

Worthington was a better manager for us than Grant and Roeder put togetherX 17 trillion!

But like every manager, it stopped happening for him and he needed to go!

But he was past his sell by date for a year before he was given the bullet!

Going back to Worthy wouldn''t be the answer and he''d probably think the same as well!

But one things for sure - Roedernowhere must go!

Worthy is a fantastic guy and did not deserve much of the unwarranted abuse he got from some quarters during the end of his reign.

Worthy hinted at what is the real problem at our club months prior to his sacking, when the funds were not there to sign Steve Howard (who went on to help Derby to promotion that season).

Anybody who thinks that any change in manager is significantly going to change anything at NCFC is an utter fool.

How can any manager work here when they have their hands tied behind their back?

There are only two people to blame and two people who should be getting every City fans abuse... DELIA & MICHAEL (the Suffolk Scum)

Agree with many of your opinions except that everything is down to the board!

A good manager could still do OK with the current board, but Roeder doesn''t fall into that category!

The board need changing, couldn''t agree more but firstly getting rid of Roeder is needed more urgently!

Roeder out!

lol... how did you know that was me??? [:$]

At least I can hold my hands up when I am wrong.... maybe those in charge of our club could take a leaf out of my book???

Still have a lot of respect for Worthy... how much will I have for the rabble that have run our club in to the ground 5, 10, 15, 20 years after they depart I wonder???

Bring in Alex Ferguson or Jose Mourinho or even raise Clough or Shankly from the grave and put them in charge... under Delia & Co you would still have nothing apart from a brief honeymoon period followed by a struggle at the wrong end of the table.

Just admit it boys and girls and direct your anger where it deserves to be aimed.
Worthington was and is a half wit. Related? He was unlucky during the close season leading up to the Prem cock up being stitched at the last minute by Pompey, West Ham and Charlton, ending up with the panic buy for £300k of Doc. However his naive approach to that whole transfer window was never having  a plan B. Its basic football practice to have at least a fictitious plan B other wise the selling club are only too aware how reliant you are on their players. the failure of the Primus/Harewood bids was SO predictable and that even the board knew it and encouraged to persuit of alternatives but the idiot was too dumb to see it. The work the board put in that summer was unbelievable

I think we all know that is right Smudge but nobody wants to be the first to pull the trigger.

I really thought she''d be gone by Xmas but the Credit Crunch has changed things for prospective buyers. Cullum has probably lost millions and I don''t blame him for having second thoughts.

It will be sad if it comes to it but relegation and administration may be the only answer. It looks like pain all round for fair number of seasons and I for one have given up all hope of ever seeing us in the Prem again.

Exactly the way I feel Butler.

I thought I''d said goodbye to third tier football for good in 1961. Looks like I may have been wrong.

Lots of Northern Ireland fans would love you take him back as many of them think him a complete ****

Admittedly he does not have a lot to work with but you know what fans are like.

we were 11th when worthy went!

that cant be that sh*t!
Got us to 2nd at one point during the season he was sacked too, not saying it would be a good idea to get him back but makes me wonder why we are being so tolerant with GR, who is clearly cr@p in comparison

Possible prob.  He''s on more money than Roeder and you''d have to pay Roeder off and presumably either match or improve on Worthy''s current take.

You lot up for that do you think?
No we weren''t, we were 17th and plummeting down the league at an alarming rate. If he had stayed I think we would have been relegated that year.
