I aint got a clue, he could be a non league player who is well thought off, remember Alex Ingleton, well thats what I think his name was. He was a non league player or something alike, he managed Exeter and is no in charge of Spurs youth or similar, could be a decent move, wonder if the experiance players would relate to him, How about Alex Notman, Mulryne, can''t think of any players who have had to retire, or have they? I''m running on...

lappinitup 629 Posted November 5, 2007 And Roeder also said that he likes his coaches ''''this side of the white line'''' so that rules out a player coach !!
Kissthebadge 0 Posted November 5, 2007 28!! He''ll be coaching Dion, whose almost old enough to be his dad!
alex_ncfc 664 Posted November 5, 2007
Shaun Carey or is he older than that?
I think it''s likely to be someone Roeder knows..
Barry Brockes 147 Posted November 5, 2007 Looking at the Newcastle United staff database as that seems to be the way we''re going (which at least is an improvement on a Scottish takeover - just) my 10p would be on Adam Sadler who is their youth team coach. Huddy 0 Posted November 5, 2007 Phil Mulryne! no he''s 29!At least it''s going to be someone young, with fresh ideas. I presume its likely to be an early retired player, but then you never know.

Vern 0 Posted November 5, 2007 Martin Taylor. Not really a player, had to play yesterday to fool us but ended up doing a good job.
Duffman 0 Posted November 5, 2007 With the youth of today, an 11 year gap between father and son sounds about right
Huddy 0 Posted November 5, 2007 On second thoughts, Roeder said it would be a promotion for the guts he wanted. So i reckon it will be a youth coach, and so inglethorpe seems a very good guess. If not, dont be suprised to see a youth coach from Arsenal or Newcastle.
Graham Humphrey 13 Posted November 5, 2007
28!! He''ll be coaching Dion, whose almost old enough to be his dad!
Dion''s 38 so probably not [:P]

Duffman 0 Posted November 5, 2007 It is Adam Sadler, well it is if you read this....He is mainly a GK coach but wants to further his careerGLENN Roeder welcomed goalkeeping coach Terry Gennoe into hisNewcastle United backroom team and hailed the contribution of AdamSadler as the Geordie reverts to an Academy role. When Roeder answered the call of chairman Freddy Shepherd to takecharge of first team affairs last February following the departure ofGraeme Souness, he brought Sadler with him from the Academy to workwith Shay Given and Steve Harper on a daily basis. And even though Sadler will now turn his attentions back to workingwith the Magpies'' junior prospects, the gaffer says he played a fullpart in helping the club end last season with a flourish.Roeder told nufc.co.uk: "When I was asked to lookafter the first team last season I had no hesitation in asking Adam tocome up and work with me after Roy Tunks had left."And for me to ask a 27-year-old to work with Shay Given and SteveHarper show how highly I rate him and the confidence I have in him."Adam never let the goalkeepers down with his ability as agoalkeeping coach and it''s a real feather in his cap that for threemonths he was working with goalkeepers of that calibre."I''ve got an awful lot of time for Adam. He will return to theAcademy which I''ve asked him to do, but I know he wants to broaden hishorizons and not just be a goalkeeping coach."I''ve seen him coach outfield players as well and he has a lot ofpotential and good prospects. He''ll get the opportunity to develop that."As and when I am able to appoint a new Academy manager - and I hopeI might be able to do that next week - Adam will slide into animportant role in the new structure, and it''s a structure I hope willlast as you need to produce continuity at that level and I want theAcademy to be organised in the fashion I want."Welcoming Gennoe back to Gallowgate, Roeder added: "I haven''t workedwith Terry before but both Shay Given and Steve Harper have told meabout his qualities not only as a goalkeeping coach, but also as aperson, which is important."I''ve also spoken to several friends in the game who know Terry andthey say he''s a first-class goalkeeping coach and will work well in mybackroom team. I''m happy to welcome him on board."Shay knows him from Blackburn. He''s just signed a new five-yeardeal and it was important to him - as much as he and Steve Harperenjoyed working with Adam and were very praiseworthy of him - he feltthat if there was an opportunity to work with his mentor again he''dlike it to happen."With Terry having left Celtic we''ve been able to do that. We''refortunate at Newcastle to have two goalkeepers like Shay and Steve, whois also a key member of the squad."Steve has not had that many opportunities and that''s due to thebrilliance of Shay, but he''s a special person to have around thedressing room. He brings a lot of quality to the squad and has hugerespect among the players."For me the fact I have two such keepers is a win double."
