Satriales 993 Posted June 11 Quality is obviously not at EPL levels, but excitement levels are better imo.
KeiranShikari 1,524 Posted June 11 Is that an average attendance or a raw numbers because there's a hell of a lot more games in the Champs than those other leagues.

chicken 3,083 Posted June 11 Didn't someone share it's the most watched outside of the top 5 EU leagues in terms of TV etc as well? I think it's more than fair to say it's arguably the best 2nd tier in Europe. Some championship sides could even hold their own in some of the better to tiers as well.

The excitement is greater BECAUSE the “quality” of football isn’t quite as good. The top premier league teams are technically so good that the football is actually boring. That's the way I see the very top level anyway.
Midlands Yellow 4,682 Posted June 11 It’s the the 5th or 6th highest average attendance in Europe I think. Bundersliga 2 is about on par this season.

No VAR, the referees are either decent or god awful, fans that honestly do care about their teams and follow them thick through thin, you get a mixture of young fresh teenage talent destined for the very top and a bunch of almost 40 year old ex top flight players all trying to wipe each other out.. What's not to love in the Championship?

What's not to love in the Championship? We either lose money or settle for third best, and hope that the youth coaches and scouts perform miracles on a regular basis. There's nothing to love about continued lower league existence if that league is the Chumps. That much heralded queue for season tickets will become a thing of the past and youngsters will look elsewhere. Edited June 11 by BroadstairsR

Google Bot 3,928 Posted June 12 I guess having the likes of Sunderland, Leeds, Leicester and Saints filled stadiums helped that record. It doesn't tell the full story though. I've not seen as many empty seats across Championship seasons as this past season, and that includes Carrow Road. Seeing figures like this, I do wish true attendance (physical) count was reported, versus the 'seats sold' approach.
pete 371 Posted June 12 However poor we play, still get 26k+, largely down to the 22k season ticket holders. Who generally all slavishly fork out the high prices dished out by the club for what is usually poor fare. It is arguable that if there were fewer holders we wou;d get a better run club. Board mught just be grateful for the support instead of being dismissive. New majority shareholder is what the club needs badly and soon. Customer relations dying under Smith and Jones. 1
